Generic List of what to bring to a Kite Sewing Workshop

Sewing machine that works. 
(And it really helps if you know how to work it.)
Owner's Manual for the sewing machine that works.
Empty plastic grocery bag. Duct Tape to tape it to table.
(To catch thread trimmings and small refuse.)
Extension Cord for the sewing machine that works.
(20 foot or better is good)
Power Strip for the extension cord for the sewing 
machine that works.
A recent Clean/Oil/Tune-up of sewing machine helps.
Screwdriver for machine. 
(Small enough to remove throat plate 
& adjust bobbin tension)
12 EMPTY bobbins that fit the machine.

NOTE:  The empty bobbins are so you can be set up with 
the correct thread if you don't have it.  If you don't 
have the good thread, make sure you have the empty bobbins.

Spare package of needles, #14 (90) Regular Point.
Needle threader
Highly recommended thread:
HB (or HSB) 33 nylon, or V-30 Polyester.  
(If you don't have this thread, make sure you have 
the empty bobbins !!!!)
NO Coats & Clark ! ! !
Possible polyester thread substitutes:
Güterman, Mölnlycke, or Mettler Metrosene thread. 
(NOT Coat, or Button, or Upholstery thread.) 
Scissors (& sharpener)
Pencil (& sharpener)
Seam ripper
Notebook

Nice to have items:
Thread stand
Extra Extension Cord for someone who forgot theirs.
Extra Power Strip for someone who forgot theirs.
Hot Knife, Hot Tacker
Holder/stand for hot tools.
Glass or other surface for hot cutting/tacking.
1/4" Seamstick (double sided tape.
Duct tape.
Appliqué Scissors
(note: good cheap pair may be made from Fiskars 
9507 Craft Scissors, $7)
Sharpener for scissors.
4 foot Straightedge
Framing square
Nylon scraps to tension machine

I will bring:
Extra sewing machine that works.  Some tools to fix some machines.
Straightedges.  Extra thread and thread stands and needles.
Patterns, plans, and templates for project.
Glass & cutting tools for project.
Any special items required for project:
Seamstick, flagcloth, hole punch, whatever.
Any materials we agree I should provide.  
Some backup materials just in case.
Scraps to adjust tension.
