In the Name of God Amen. I Paul Leatherer of the County of Culpr. being in Perfect of health and Soundnefs of Memory thanks be to God for the same but knowing the scertainty of Death and that there is a time for all men once to die. I do Appoint this my Last Will and Testament and desire it may be recd. by all men as such as I utterly revoke all former Wills by me made and with what Worldly goods the Lord hath blefsed me with it is my desire that they may be disposed of in the following Manner. Imprimis I give my body to the ground from whence it was atken to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter mentioned looking for the great day of Judgment When I shall appear before the Tribunal of God Almighty to make Ansr. for the sins Committed in this Life where I hope through the Merits of my Blefsed Redeemer Jesus Christ to have Pardon & Remission for all my Sins and I do hereby desire that all my Worldly Estate both Real & Personal may be Distributed in the Following Manner to wit -

Item I lend to my Dearly beloved Wife Margaret Leatherer, all my Estate both Real & Personal during her Natural Life.

Item I Give and Bequeath to my Daughter Margaret Leatherer after her Mothers Decease one negro Girl Named Hannah, One Bed and furniture (which is now Called hers) And one Cow and Calf her Choice which I Give to her and her heirs forever.

Item I Give and Bequeath to my Daughter Susanna Leatherer One Bed and furniture and one Cow & Calf to her and her heirs forever.

Item It is my desire that all the residue of my Estate (not already Given) after my wifes decease may be equally divided Amongst all my Children to wit Michael Leatherer, Nichs. Leatherer, Samuel Leatherer, John Leatherer, Paul Leatherer, Joshua Leatherer, Susannah Leatherer, Mary Yowell and Margaret Leatherer all which I do Give to them and their Heirs forever.

Lastly I Constitute and appoint my Dearly belov'd Wife Margaret Leatherer and my loving Sons John & Joshua Leatherer Executors & Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament In Witnefs Whereof I hereunto set my hand and Seal this 5th day of November 1780.

At a Court held for Culpeper County 21st day of November 1785.

This Last Will and Testament of Paul Leatherer decd. was Exhibited to the Court And was Proved by the Oaths of two of the Witnefses thereto And Ordered to be recorded. And on the Motion of John Leatherer & Joshua Leatherer two of the Executors therein Named Certificate is Granted them for Obtaining a Probat thereof in due form they having made Oath thereto And Given bond and Security according to Law. Margaret Leatherer the Executrix therein Named refuses to take upon herself the burthen thereof And Abides by the Provision made for her in the said Will. As by a Certificate filed in Court.

Agreeable to an Order from the Worshipfull Court of Culpeper County to us directed we have Appraised the Estate of Paul Leatherer Decd. an Inventory of which is as follows (to wit)

John Sampson
Henry Lewis

At a Court held for Culpeper County October 16th 1786.
This Inventory was Returned into Court & Ordered to be Recorded.
