FRANKLIN COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA WILL BOOK B (p.340); 1808



In the name of God amen, I Jacob Hammon of Fannet Township, Franklin County and State of Pennsylvania, being weak in body, but of sound memory and Judgement, for which I thank the gracious disposer of all things, Do make this my last Will and Testament, and dispose of my Temporal estate as follows. I will and bequeath my plantation I now live on, to my two Sons Philip and John, their Heirs and Afsigns, during the life time of my Wife, and at her death, I still allow it, to the said Philip and John, provided they think proper to keep it, and pay all the rest of my children an equal share of my Estate, to be afscertained by three men, if they cannot agree themselves, every one of my children, reducing out of their several shares, the accounts I have against them, my personal Estate I allow to my Wife, during her life, and then to be equally divided amongst my children, the said Philip & John I allow to have all the profits of the place, giving to my Wife, whatever necefsaries she needs, brought in and to the House. I also allow no part of the Legacy coming to my daughter Mary, to come into her husband hands, and at the death of my daughter Catharine Bowman, if it should be without lawful ifsue I allow her part to go to her brothers and Sisters equal. I also allow this my last Will to be carried into effect by my two Sons Philip and John, whom I appoint my Executors, as witnefs my hand and feal March 21st 1808.

On the 14th April 1808 Richard Childerstone Esquire and William Skinner, witnefses to the foregoing Instrument of writing, appeared before me Register, for the probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration for Franklin County and upon their solemn oaths, depose and say, that they were present and saw and heard Jacob Hammon deceased, seal and publish the foregoing Instrument of writing, as and for his last Will and Testament, and that at the time of doing thereof, he the said Jacob Hammon, was of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding, according to the best of their knowledge and belief that their names thereto fubscribed as witnefses, is of their proper hand writing, done at the same time.
