FRANKLIN COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA WILL BOOK H (p.51); 1873


I George Coons of Fannett Township Franklin Coun., Pennsylvania Being desirous while I have soundness of mind to Settle and arange my worley concerns do now make and publish this my last Will and testament as follows. I Bequarth to my Wife the House and land we now live on, also the Lot we Bought of D. C. Johnson and part of the Mountain land that is from Wm. Skinners line along the line of Barcley and Wilson to the Mountain land of John M. Coons thence along the line to a White Pine corner at Mountain Road, thence to top of Mountain bareing the same degree asthe line between us and W. Skinner the above described property for her use dureing her natural lifetime; I Bequaith also to my Wife all my Household and Kitchen furniture Beds and Beading Stoves & One Cow one Gray Mair Harnes and Buggey my Share of the Grain in the groun also what grain I May have on hands the time of my Deceas, I alow my three Sons, Samuel, Jacob & John to pay my Wife twenty dollars each yearly during her life Said money to be credited on the claim I have against them. The Mountain land that is not disposed of at time of my Deceas I alow my Executor to care for it My friend Catharine Shearer to have firewood of it during her lifetime for her own use and if he sells it I authorize Him to make a deed for it and further I bequarth to my Four Sons Samuel, Jacob William and John Two Hundred and fifty dollars Each I bequarth to the children of my Daughter Juleann Decd Two hundred and fifty dollars to be equaly divided amongst them Share and Share alike I bequarth to the two children of my Daughter Catharine "Deceas Two hundred and fifty dollars to be equaly divided between them. I bequarth to the Three children my Daughter Marget bore to Levi Line "her first husband", Two hundred and fifty dollars to be equally divided amongst them and to Marget One hundred dollars. Bequaith to my Daughter Agnes Bair Two hundred and fifty dollars: I Bequarth to my Son Peter all the Lands I gave to my Wife at her death to be his, and, Peter to pay to my Son William Three Hundred dollars within Two years after he gets possession. I alow my Executor to pay all my Just debts, and colect all my just Dues. What money is in the hands of my Executor after all is setled up I bequarth to my four Sons Samuel Jacob William & John Share and Share alike. And lastly I appoint my Son John M. Coons My Executor of this my last Will and testament In testimony I have set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of November One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy Three 1873.

Before me, A. A. Skinner, Register for the Probate of Wills, &c., in and for Said County, personally came Peter C. Bealman and John W. Stitt, the subscribing witnefses to the within instrument of writing, who being duly qualified according to law, did depose and say that they were personally present and George Coons, late of the Township of Fannett in Said County, deceased, the testator therein named , Sign his name to said writing, and Seal the Same and heard him publish and declare the said as and for his last Will and Testament, and at the time of so doing he was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief, and that their own names thereto subscribed as witnefses were so subscribed at the request of the testator in his presence and in the presence of each other.

You John M. Coons do Swear by Almighty God the Searcher of all hearts that as Executor of the last will and Testament of George Coons, late of the Township of Fannett, deceased you will well and truly administer the goods and chattels, rights and credits of Said deceased according to law, and will also diligently and faithfulfully regard and well and truly comply with the provisions of the law relating to Collateral Inheritances.
