WILL OF ADAM ASHBOUGH


ARMSTRONG COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA REGISTRAR'S DOCKET VOL.1 (p.39), ESTATE 113; 1820


In the name of God, Amen. I, Adam Ashbough of Armstrong County Alegheney Township being weak in body, but of sound and perfect mind and memory, blefsed be Almighty God for the same, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say). First, I recomend my Soul to Almighty God the giver and preserver of it and my Body to be laid in the dust from whence it came. I do give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife after all my Legal Debts are paid to wit to E. Elizabeth Ashbough, All that my Meffuage or tenement situated lying and being in Alegheney Township, Where on I now dwell, And lastly, as to all the rest, residue and remainder of my personal estate, goods and chattels, of What kind and nature soever, I give and bequeath the same to my said beloved Wife E. Elizabeth Ashbough, During her Natural life, And at her Death What ever of said property is remaining is to be Vendued and sold and the product of it to be Equally divided amongst My Children, further I do apoint My beloved Wife E. Elizabeth Ashbough executrix and John Stoner living in Hempfield township, Westmoreland County executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me maid. In Witnefs whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Seventeenth day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and twenty.

Signed, Sealed, published and declared by the above named Adam Ashbough to be his last Will and Testament, in the presence of us Who have hereunto fubscribed our names as Witnefses in the presence of the Testator.

Before me Eben Smith Kelley Register for the probate of wills and granting letters of administration in and for said county personnaly appeared the within named John Criswell and Solomon Shoemaker who being duly sworn according to law depose and say that they were personally present and saw the within named Adam Ashbaugh the testator sign seal publish pronounce and declare the within instrument of writing as and for his last will and testament, and that at the time of his doing so he the said testator was of perfect & sound mind & memory, and that they these deponents signed their names to the same as witnefses in the presence of & at the request of the testator.
