at the Koffee Pott cafe, High Street, Summerville.
Les. "That's okay! I didn't mind you approaching me in the shop. And I was meeting Barb for lunch anyway. So you're interested in Yasmina and her Joe then?"
Barb. "What has it been? Nearly 20 years since the accident. Joe all grown up and wanting to find his dad eh?" No, Yas never told me who it was, and don't think we didn't try to find out".
Les. "Nah. She never told me either. She was my best friend. We three used to hang around together all the time. Then things changed after she had Joe. Of course it wasn't long after having the baby that she was in that accident and died. That was sooooo sad".
Barb. "Oh my gosh look at Yas's old photos Les. We were so young! Of course I know who Harry is - I'm still married to the big oaf. He owns a used car lot on Hobson road".
"Thomas there went and became a catholic priest. I think it was sometime before Yas's accident. He's back here now at St Joseph's. I know she was just friends with him. I can't believe they ..... well I mean he became a priest!"
"As for Dick, well he was a sleezebag that used to try to go out with all the girls. He really fancied himself. Yas actually did go out with him 'cos she felt sorry for him. It is hard to believe he could be Joe's dad, but who knows".
"She did go out with my Harry alright, but she said they never ... you know. Harry always tells me that the only reason he went out with Yas was so he could get closer to me".
Les. "I don't know Barb, Harry and Yas seemed awfully close for a while there!"
"Thomas was nice, but I think Yas used to just kinda lean on him and think of him as a friend".
"As for Dick. He was always trying to have his way with anything in a skirt. It was his stupid motorbike driving that caused the accident that killed Yas. He never really recovered after the accident. You'll find him hanging out with the other drunks down under the Main Street bridge a lot of the time".
"I don't know of anyone else Yas went out with - and this is a small town. Believe me, we would have known of anyone else".
"Oh, by the way, I have copies of those photos that are missing out of Yas's album. Do you want me to send them to you?"
