> help blademasters Help is available on these subjects: rules sword clothing chain emotes general forms titles battack leaving bnews Use 'help blademasters ' to access help files. > help blademasters rules The rules of the Blademasters are simple. There are none. Blademasters these days are frequently quite mercenary in their loyalties, and it is not uncommon for Blademasters to engage one another in battle. Your only protection from another Blademaster is your skill at arms. Aside from that, the only formalities observed is to not provide the blade or clothing of a Blademaster to a non-Blademaster. Doing such is not forbidden, but neither is hunting down and killing another Blademaster for doing it. Breach this trust at your own risk. > help blademasters forms Long ago, the Blademasters were tought to master three styles of swordsmanship; wielding a single one-handed sword, two one-handed swords, and a two-handed sword. Each of these three styles had dozens of different offensive and defensive forms, but the skill of most have been long since lost and forgotton, only a handful of each style remains. Each style has different demands and requirements, though each is as deadly as the last when used in combat. > help blademaster sword While Blademasters mainly will use whatever blade is on hand, there are times when ceremony, formality, or simple pride is enhanced by the possession of the traditional blade of the Blademasters. It is an elegant weapon, and very strange in appearance compared to the normal swords of Khalakhor. Long and slender, the blade has a single edge and is gracefully curved. One can easily recognize a true Blademaster sword by the thistle-mark upon the blade. They are usually obtained by requesting certain bladesmiths with a regular sword, which he will then convert into a Blademaster sword. The size and quality of the Blademaster sword is dependant on the sword he begins work with. However, their work has limits, and frequently any special properties of the sacrificed sword are lost. > help blademaster titles As the society has largely fallen to a disrepair, the old titles of the Blademasters have largely become obselete, and now only a couple titles remain with any meaning. Blademaster/mistress of Khalakhor: This title is the common title claimed by all Blademasters. High Blademaster/mistress of Khalakhor: This title can be claimed only by those Blademasters who have completely mastered the sword, with a skill of superior master. However, Blademasters are valued leaders of clan armies, and as such, their allegiance to a clan becomes one with their title. Should a Blademaster also belong to one of the clans of Khalakhor, their title will merge with their clan title, in the form: Dargorath Moraigh, High Blademaster of the Clan Moraigh.. which is then followed by any other titles. > help blademaster clothing Blademasters are no longer bound to dress themselves uniformly as they once were during the Age of Legend. However, the clothing remains and is usually available from most allies of the society, for a modest fee. Formally, they wear black leather boot and gloves. The gloves have an especially thin palm to allow for greater sensitivity to the blade. Also a black shirt with a high collar, though quite plain otherwise. Finally is the kilt bearing the set of the Blademasters, the kilts are solid black with a thin blue cross-hatching, unique to the Blademasters. The commands 'blist' and 'bbuy' will work with all Blademaster allies. > help blademaster battack The attack of the Blademasters is based off of the three styles and the forms therein. It cannot be used to begin a fight, and once in a fight the exact forms used differ from attack to attack. The style used is entirely dependant upon the weapons in hand. As each of the styles and forms are as deadly as the next, which form and style are used to describe the attack are unimportant, compared to their effect. They will, of course, only work if you are wielding one or more swords. > help blademaster chain One of the symbols of the Blademasters is the chain, which all Blademasters wear upon their collar. The chain represents the sequence of combat, in which the weakest link determines the strength of the attack. Chains vary in size, from five to ten links. The links indicate the duration of a Blademaster's claim to his or her title, ten being the longest. In addition, the material of the links vary. High Blademasters, or those who have attained a skill of superior master, have chains of gold links. All others bear silver chains. > help blademaster leaving Leaving the Blademasters can occur two ways. The first is voluntary. Any Blademaster may simply 'bbreak' his or her chain, and renounce their rightful title as Blademaster. The second is involuntary, your right will be revoked as soon as your skill drops below the permissable level of confident veteran. Below this rank, you will be stripped of your title. Both means of leaving will have the same effect, you will lose any experience that has gone towards your time in the Blademasters, but nothing else. > help blademaster emotes The following commands are available to Blademasters. Once a formidable army during the Age of Legend, their numbers have dwindled away. Now the title of Blademaster is more of a right to be claimed by those of excessive skill with swords than it is evidence of membership to any organization. In fact, the Blademasters are no longer a true organization as such. There is no one place they call home, there is no one cause they defend. Anyone from the foulest murderer to the holiest warrior may rightfully claim their title, as long as they are among the best with a sword. As you may have noticed, or been told, there is no guildhall, nor are there any skills trained, as there is nowhere to train them. The only thing connecting one Blademaster to another are their allies, mostly ex-Blademasters now working as smiths and armourers. They will frequently provide a place to stay if you ask to start there, as well as be a source of clothing and Blademaster swords. Nor is there any council or other ruling body. The only difference between Blademasters is their skill with swords. The following help topics are available.
