So, I believe it is up to human beings to change, and as more of us see the light and work to change ourselves positively, that affects the environment, bringing about tangible positive change for everyone. It is all up to us--we individually can and must encourage even one person and that in turn helps "turn up the light", if you will.
Shakyamuni Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama) predicted similarly, explaining that our age would be an age of unprecedented confusion and evil, but that it is also the right time for the spread of the Law (that underlying energy/Reality that I mentioned). By trying our best at this time, we are creating great fortune, even more than spreading good during a time when it�s easy to do so. I see us Liberals and Progressives as being on the forefront of this positive movement; seriously I think it�s very clear we are the "Old Souls", spiritually mature people who understand and work for Universal truths such as honesty, compassion and justice. (That includes physical truths too, such as what Science discovers; we as progressives are fighting the ignorance that would deny education and scientific discovery and pull us back into a medieval Dark Age).
