| Contrast. The strange hues that this screen presents are opposities. The fiery background and the self-imprisonment that is our human souls. Fire is the emotion, it is the unpredictable nature that is our spirit, our changing selves. It is passion, it is the place beyond reason, beyond logic, beyond our understanding. The rings, oh how strong the combinations are, the rings are logic. They are cold, impassionate, but they are also our survival. They give us the intelligence to be capable of conversation, the ability to see life in scientific and thoughful ways. This is gone in hate. In hate, there is no understanding, only unbridled passion. Hate can be used, it can be channelled. Or, to put it in more appropriate terminology, it can be manipulated. It is used by Generals to make their soldiers feel superior, and fight boldly. It can be used by businessmen to arouse feelings of superiority, of belonging to something bigger and better than themselves. It has been used by doctors, rulers, generals, CEO's, and just about any occupation that puts a person in a throne of power or influence. This is no justification, it is only the ability to let good things come from passionate feelings. I despise hate. Hate is ignorance. It is the state of mind where you are beyond reason, beyond remorse, it is beyond understanding. Hate may be used for good deeds, but those good deeds pale in comparison to the trillions of horriffic and repulsive acts we as a species have committed. We have started wars over money, we have killed our neighbor because his wife cooks a better meal, we have done things that sometimes defy our own faith in mankind. Hate is beyond reason, and no one has the wisdom to say that They know how you feel, because they can't. They know how They felt, but no one can ever understand how you feel except you. Sam had a lot about manipulation on her page. Feeling used, being sneezed on like a tissue and discarded with as much disgust. I never hate, NEVER. Hate is for simple people. I can not hate, I must not. Hate is weakness, it is primitive. Let's say someone walks up to me on the street and shoots my wife. I am left spellbound. Why would he do something like this? Why would a person commit such a brutal and apparently random act of violence? If I were to hate him for what he did, I would be continuing the cycle of pain. He shoots my wife, I shoot his, and things escalate. What if I hated but I didn't do anything? Hate is always appparent. It may reside deep within the psyche, but the dangerous hate, the hate that hurts people, lies on the outside. If I watched the killer, and I thought about killing him but I didn't, what crime have I committed? Am I guilty of not standing up to my wife's memory? Am I guilty of not submitting myself to revenge? No, you are guilty of listening to your conscience, and that will never be a crime. We have all had a "Momentary Lapse of Reason", or was that the name of a Pink Floyd cd? Hm. Well, regardless, hate is bad. If you feel hate, don't let it show, never let it gain control over your mind, over your goals, over your hopes and dreams. There is a seperate battle going on in my mind, what will dictate my action? Will I submit myself to revenge, or will I do the Judeau-Christian concept of love my enemy? They are the extremes, and the middle road is only repression of your true feelings. What do I hate besides hate and ignorance? Hm. Country music. Definitely hate it, er, I mean despise it. I DISLIKE many things. Like the Two-party democracy, Bulgaria, thick Southern accents, big trucks, biking, killing anything, insects, any little critter that gets in my house and DARES to crawl across the floor whilst I am watching reruns of SNL, and little sisters who happen to be Christian zealots, and fundamentalism in general. I like religion, but if you take your orders and lessons exclusively from mankind than you miss out on a heck of a lot. And this includes Bibles, Torahs, The Koran, Talmud, The Vedas, and so on. They are very useful, but they are not entirely good. I don't like how the Bible deals with slavery, how it makes and even justifies inferiority to its believers. What bull crap! Bibles and other Holy Books are written by man. Point in case, why are there so many Bibles? Catholic Bibles are far, far different from Lutheran or Methodist Bibles. And Lutheran and Methodist Bibles may be similar, but they have enormously different views on what scriptures mean. I don't like people who have that sort of closed mind, who are absorbed with one source of information. Fundamentalists are entirely closed. Humongously closed. What else, you say? I hate big egos. I hate egos in general. People who view themselves as superior should be disgusted with themselves. I have a much better view, at least one that has helped and guided me, and that is that all people's beliefs should be respected. I have to respect fundamentalists, even though I am sure they will not respect me. That is the way of things, we simply can not become absorbed in ignorance. Disrespect is ignorance, and it is the beginning of hate. To conclude, there is no sin but ignorance. All sins stem from it, and hate is tantamount to it. I hope that this means something to you, and that you can treat your friends and enemies alike, but we are all human. We all make mistakes, but I hope that I might be able to help you avoid a few of them. Try not to let other people's foolishness or irrationality get you down, just be tolerant of them. Some day, they might even realize what fools they were, and you will know that you were right. Good night everybody! -The Dark Dachshund |
