General William MacRae Camp
From 1861 through 1865, the brave soldiers of the Confederacy fought to protect their homes and their states from an unconstitutional invasion from President Abraham Lincoln and his northern army.

On April 25, 1906, Lt. General Stephen Dill Lee issued a challenge to the Sons of Confederate Veterans that has become our charge:

"To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we will commit the vindication of the cause for which we fought. To your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles which he loved and which you love also, and those ideals which made him glorious and which you also cherish."

It is this for reason, to honor our brave Confederate ancestors, that the General William MacRae Camp, was founded. It is our goal and our promise to vigorously defend the Southern heritage and tradition that is under such attack today.

If you live in Southeastern North Carolina (New Hanover, Brunswick, or Pender Counties), we welcome you to join us. We meet on the second Thursday of every month at the Brunswick Electric building in Shallotte, North Carolina. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jeff Melton and we will be happy to supply you with more information.

Our camp is an active camp and we endeavor to do our ancestors proud, by defending them against attacks by the media and education elite.
