Router Implementation: Router# config t Router(config)# isdn switch-type switch-type
Bandwidth - ISDN can increase access speeds up to 128 KBPS and was developed to be implemented over the existing telephone system. ISDN can deliver a total bandwidth of 144 KBPS and is divided into three different channels. Two "B" channels and one "D" channel. The two Bs operate at 64 KBPS and the D at 16 KBPS.
Data Communications equipment - Our implementation will simply require the use of a terminal adapter to translate the signals because of the Network Termination type 2.
Benefits - ISDN could benifit our network by allowing Dial In users to connect at high speeds which may be needed to administrators. Although The Network we will be working with is for a school, and the cost may be too high to keep it due to a possible limited budget. If this is the case, ISDN is not important enough to our network to keep.
Learning Objectives - With ISDN we have learned many new specifications must be abided in order to correctly implement it. This includes every thing from the physical aspect to the two different services to choose from. We dont believe it will be mandatory to implement ISDN because of the type of network we will be needing to setup. |
