Slaves of the Machine

Created you to live our life for us
How effortlessly you took it away
Sacrificed control for pleasure
How we worship you day after day
The black screen, the white box
Took our lives, measure for measure
Now there's nothing left that's worth seeing
Of the slaves of the machine

Your circuits are nothing compared to our human brain
But how we still bow before you, diligent slaves
We cannot live without you; you need us to survive
But we need you more, without you we die
You are the jailer, we are the slave
We improve you as our lives rot away
You are our cell, the lock and the key
We are the slaves, the slaves of the machine

God created dinosaurs, God destroyed dinosaurs
God created man, man has no more need for God
Man created machine, man soon will be destroyed by need
The need to be slaves of the machine

You give me comfort like nothing else can give
Sexual pleasure with no woman's touch
You give me the freedom to live the life I want to live
When I don't want a world like this
You are my gateway to your world,
This world I no longer want to live in
I'd rather live in a dungeon
With the other slaves of the machine

We don't know who we really are, what's going to become
We can't tear ourselves away, we can't accept the loss
How would we live without you, questions we don't want to ask
How could we possibly survive, humanity would be left in the dark
The world would crumble, our lives would end
With the loss of you, our only friend
Humanity stopped being sentient beings
Ever since we became slaves of the machine

Swear alleigance to the god in the screen
Independant thought has become obsolete
Feed my lust, fuel my desire, burn my hatred
What more do you want of me, master?
And if you could talk, would you laugh?
Or would you beep as you execute another command?
Subjects of the technocracy, we lose our will to fight
The ruler of this world, we lose our will to survive
The tears we shed won't even blur what we see
For we see nothing as slaves of the machine

Bad command or file name. Very bad.
