| I saw the movie E.T. The Extra Terrestrial for the first time in almost 10 years last night. If you've seen the movie you may be familiar with the trick or treating scene in which a child dressed as Yoda passes Elliot and his brother who are leading E.T. E.T. runs for the "Yoda" as if he recongnizes him and he's calling something that sounds like "home." Some may say it's just because E.T. and Yoda are both aliens. Others will dismiss it simply because there's no reason to go into it, but if you don't go into it, there's no point in the internet and having cool sites like this to tell crazy sci fi movie lovers about these strange coincidences. But I digress. Anyway, in the most recent Star Wars film "The Phantom Menace," there are aliens of E.T.'s species in the galactic senate. Conincidence? I think not. (well of course we all know the real reason is that Lucas and Speilberg are best friends and share ideas and dumb coincidences all the time, there are accually several SW references in E.T.) My theory: E.T. recongnized Yoda because he's from the Star Wars galaxy. A minority member possibly, but it's still there. I'm sure Yoda is a very public figure, and it's possible that there are others of his species (although what that species is still remains completly anonymous) Well, that's my rant. Enjoy. MTFBY |
