| A Trance episode! Yeah. We've been waiting for this. Too bad they couldn't reveal all her secrets in one episode. I didn't expect many secrets revealed but I did hope for a little more of an inside look. Still, we learned many things. They confirmed that Trance isn't the only one of her kind. Also, we found out that Trance's species can be very violent. When they're bored. You know I just thought of something. On "Fear and Loathing" when we see the slightly more violent side of Trance, she says just moments before pulling the guns out that she was getting bored with Harper and Gyrentex. Maybe this is a clue. I originally thought that she did it because she wasn't getting her way, now I don't know. Maybe they only use force to get their way when the other option is boredom...? The "B" story set up some good ground for the future. We meet two new species who presumably will be seen more often. We learn Dylan and Harper and partners on a secret project developing Nova weapons. I remember reading that more of the stories were going to be sungular, "an end unto themselves" I thougth the first season was more like that. Now there's this common goal, singular cause. How do you get individual stories from a continuing storyline? Not that I don't like it. I really want to see more focused stories like what we have now. And with an ensem cast and multipule stories in an episode you have to take development slower. That can be good though. IF you develop a character too fast you can end up with a different person every episode. (this does happen) Great episode. top of the list. |
