| The Ties that Blind |
| Overall good episode. They just keep adding more and more to this ongoing storyline. Now, I'm accually writing this after seeing "The Pearls that Were His Eyes" and I liked both, but when it comes to Beka's mysterious past, this episode was the best. My first reaction to this episode was rather bland. It was exciting but there were some loose ends. Who was Rafe working for? How did he get away with sneaking around as a Wayist with someone else who was impersonating a wayist? Questions aside, once I recorded over the episode (yes, it was on purpose) I missed it. I recently caught it again in a rerun and realized it gave a lot more info and good lines the second time around. This is consistant with other episodes, you have to watch them several times to get it. A lot of good ensemble work. Trance and Tyr paired up for a comical but unexpected storyline. The con was good. I like that dramatic way of holding back parts of the full story then letting them exploit themselves in the end. Although I did know that Rafe didn't accually die, I didn't know Dylan was in on it, and I couldn't figure out how much Rev accually knew, (very little I suppose since he was surprised by the file copy) That's another thing. Why did they play out the scene as if Rafe had stolen the files? For Rev's benifit? Unless they left the comm channel open and made sure the resters heard it I don't see a point. The writters need to make these things a little more clear. Trance as comic releif. Well, you do what you have to do when Harper's not around. Dispite Seamus' absence this episode had a lot of good lines Dylan: (to Rev) All humans look alike to you. Tyr: They look like lunch. __________ Trance: You told me to choose a kee-yai (sp).... Tyr: And you chose 'Hi-ho'? Trance: Is that bad? Good stuff all around. I still don't have a grading scale but this will probably be mid-range, maybe high for the first season. |
