| Fear and Loathing in the Milky Way |
| Not the top of writing or style but for starters we're set. This was not though, one of the better episodes of the season. What was wrong: Like Pearls this episode lacked detail, however the lacking was not in the A story but the B. I didn't like the mixing of Dylan's final act on Andromeda mixing with the Persied drop-out. They should have broadened the drop-out plot and saved the Dylan's brooding for another episode, or played just on the brooding. I personally wouldn't have minded if Dylan and Beka had walked around half the show fighting for no reason then Dylan finally confesses his problems and he and Beka share a meaningful heart-to-heart moment on the floor of the hanger deck. Tears or no tears it would have been more interesting. Now, what was good- Gyrentex's return, he's a good character and a possible archnemisis if he gets just a little more power. Hestori, (or however it's spelled) it was a strong story that unlike previous stories had much more detail Trance's spoof at the casino; another thing to add to her many talents, you think she could see what the score was going to be before it happened? Metal-hair girl Sparky cola (I'm a caffiene freak myself) Trance's philisophical lesson at the end "beautiful things can change the universe" Plenty of good Harper-tude We got to see a bad side of Harper in this as well. We know he had a rough life on earth but I didn't realize just how greedy he could be. He threw everything into getting that 84 grand he tried to charge Gyrentex in the second episode. He is a much tougher guy than we think, although I'm really unsure if this fits the Harper character well. All in all this hits mid to mid-bottom. Slightly below Pearls but above Drums on my list. (I really am working on getting a rating system but it's not that easy) |
