| Eye color: Light Blue Height: Around 5' 10" [an educated guess judging from objects around him like doorknobs although he appears to be 5' 5" at times because of this] Hair Color: Brown Sex: Male Species: Machine [android] Source of Energy: Internal Core Description: Probably the most interesting character in CNE, Dent is comprised of nanobots. He is Banning's bodyguard and right hand man, uh...machine. Escorts Banning wherever he goes pretty much. Dent has a ambiavlent attitude at times while at others he is sarcastic. Dent primarily is an optimist. He takes pleasure in being mean to people but not neccesarily torture although he would enjoy that too. He can take anyones form using his nanobots and he can also replicate the persons voice. He can also knock anyone out by emitting a shock from his index and middle finger that he places under the persons chin. He is deemed 'indestructable' by many because when he gets injured he can reconstruct his nanobots. In the episode "The Box" Ethaniel changes Dent while repairing him and gives him freewill and a consciousness. Dent now experiances things he never knew he could including certain emotions like love and lust. He does not have to follow Bannings orders anymore if he desires. Before Ethaniel changed Dent he did not want freewill...it scared him and he saw such things as dirty and unnecessary. Now he sees the benefits of being more 'human'. Dent even has a sense of sexual desire. In one of the later episodes he takes Ethaniel's form and tries to seduce Laura but fails. Dent wants to live and does not want to be replaced and this is more evident as the series goes on. Dent never never forgets a voice and he even has a good knowlege of mythology [Thorber programmed it in him]. Dent recharges and repairs himself by laying naked in a renewal chamber. He can be fully repaired in less than thirty minutes. He can reconstruct the outer layers of himself on his own in less than two seconds. Sometimes he needs assistance from somebody else like a technician but this is rare. He studies human literature despite that he plans to wipe the human race out and even if Banning does not want him to because of this. Dent said it himself that the thought of wiping the human race out makes him feel bad but that it also seems kind of nice indicating that he happens to have some intrest in the human race but because of his corrupted programming he has some wish to eradicate it. Although it seems more and more that he happens to like having and using human emotions thus becoming a bit 'human'. This reminds me of Data in Star Trek The Next Generation although Dent has surpassed Data in terms of expressing emotion. Dent at first did not like to hear that Thorber created him but he found it interesting none the less. Dent likes to believe that Banning is the one that created him...even to this very day. Ethaniel told Dent in 'The Box' that Thorber created him and that it was his original purpose to be an ambassador between the Theron world and Earth. Dent himself said that he felt that he was always good at public relations...like it was his purpose. In 'The Box' Dent said that he learned from the 'best'. The 'best' meaning Banning. Banning reprogrammed Dent to be more evil, not like anyone, and to say a bunch of nasty human catch phrases. Ethaniel clearly stated that Bannning corrupted Dent's programming and Dent says he likes being evil. Later one we see that he might not really be as evil as we thought he was...well maybe. Dent seems to enjoy being called by his first name, Albert, that means 'noble'. Later on we see Dent be visibly upset [he pitched a big fit and got a bit looney because of the virus...threatened to destroy the world] after he heard that Banning and Ethaniel wanted to change Dent back to his original 'factory setting' after he caught a virus that invaded his system. Banning reset him and he presumably does not remember anything that happened to him after Ethaniel changed him in 'The Box' although he may still have some recollection of what happened as he seemes to still miss Nivec [his robot friend he made that got destroyed]. Dent has odd maurisms and is constantly seen cracking his neck and his face twitching. Despite the fact that Dent is supposed to not show any emotion or feel anything he does get angry alot and he even smirks and get suprised suggesting obviously he does have emotions although probably only for dramatic purposes for the show seeing as it is hard for a human to understand 'true emotionlessness'. He especially gets aggravated when he cannot shoot anybody because he has bad aim despite being a homicidal robot. Banning may have programmed him with wise ass comments but he didn't give him good aim or any lack of emotion. In fact Dent's settings appear to be at a level that just suppresses his emotion, not eliminate it. In Thief he retrieved the stolen Theron Regenerative device...in pieces and then commented on how efficient he was. Banning told him he was not efficient at all, hurting Dents suppressed feelings and bringing what he actually has to rise to the surface. Banning then says that Dent is a quote, Battering ram in human clothing, and that he would trade him for that device in a heartbeat. Hurt at what his master said Dent lowers his head. Banning tells Dent to quit sulking and comments on how hurt he looks at what he said. Dent angrily states that he does not have feelings. Banning implies that he does and Dent says that he is far too efficient to have feelings. Banning holds up a piece of the TRD and implies that he is not as efficient as he thought. In a rage, Dent walks off to brood. He reminds alot of fans of the Agents in the Matrix movies and games although he is more like the human form Replicators from Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis. Almost identical to Replicaters be exact. Dent of course is a fan favorite [especially amoung the ladies I assume] and I am a big fan of this character too. :) Things we see him do... Use his own ally as a human shield-'The Box' Kill his own ally-'Ethaniels Story' Likes- Following Orders [sometimes] Killing Brooding Creating little machines [like a tracking device and his own remote control extrermination robot] Being evil [how classic of a bad guy] Dislikes- Transforming into a human female to get information out of a human male or to stall the guy. An interesting thing to note is that dogs bark wildly at Dent. Perhaps they sense something evil about him and are attempting to alert others? That is what it would seem. Some dogs become violent and will attack Dent in an effort to protect his or her's master. Dent is also physically stronger than a human being a nano-tech based machine. He can shove his hand through a door without harm and even lift and throw people into the air. Although it is not clear that he is as strong as a Theron it seems likely that he is physically weaker than one. Dent is played by the Canadian actor Gordon Currie who also appears in Amercian TV shows. |
