The satellite orbiting Earth finally gives the three men live video feed as it orbits Earth. The spaceships communications are jammed as it enters the Earths atmosphere and a man in a black suit orders a recovery team to be sent to the site to where the spaceship is supossed to crash.
Meanwhile two policemen see a violent lightning storm as does a family of four that is camping outside at a unknown location somewhere off in the woods and they get suspicious as there was not supposed to be any storms that day.
The two men at base talk about the people on the ship and the man in black says that if the ship goes down all life will not be lost.
At the 'base' energy gathers in a glowing blue ball above four charging towers. A beam comes from the enegy core towards the spaceship and shoots it down. The policeman look up to see a fireball zoom over their heads and it does not seem to be like a meteor. They know something is wrong and they get into their trucks and speed off.
The camping family look up intp the sky to see the giant ball of flame descend from the sky and land into the woods not far from their otherwise peaceful campesite. The fireball explodes as it makes contact with the ground.
The policeman drive down the dark road and see two black SUVs parked with men dressed in black around the area. The back of the vehicles are open and the men seem to be taking things out of it. The policeman are armed with shotguns and demand to speak to anyone in charge of the operations. A man dressed in a suit says that he is the one in charge. The policemen want to know what is going on but are shot by two of the black clothed men before they can even react.
The woods are on fire and naked men climb out and try to salvage anything of value from the ship. They have an almost 'drugged' look and are having a hard time walking around.
The family is in their van and are trying to hear what is going on but the phone and radio are non-responsive.
The man in the blue suit and his men are armed and quickly move through the dark and foggy woods towards the fallen spaceship. Their flashlights act as beacons in the darkness.
Tranquilizer darts fly through the air and into the naked men from the ship. The men fall on the ground knocked out from the drugs. A female is also seen fleeing from the masked men with tranquilizer guns that have laser sights equipped.
We then learn the name of the guy in the blueish suit. His name is Dent.
One of the masked men is ambushed by one of the naked men who hides under leaves.
The naked men start to fight with the masked men who fight back and hit the men with the butts of their guns. The scene is pure chaos.
The female is taken down by a dart to the back and she,like alot of the men, gives a alien-cry.
Dent contacts the man in the black suit by satellite and reports what is going on, that they are still searching for one of the surivors. The man in black gets slitely aggrivated at Dent's unsuccesful attempt at capture.
The family in the van gets more worried with every passing second and they decide to try and help anyone who may have been hurt. They go towards the crash site.
One of the survivors, the missing one, slowly makes his way out of the woods and Dent reports to his superior that they have lost the survivor.
The family in the van get more anxious and know that it must have been a UFO since it was not a airplane and it was moving way too slow to be a meteor.
The family comes to another road and they see the missing naked dude who avoided capture and they accidentally hit him...hard.
The man who got hit is in the hospital and a nurse tells him that he is 'a local phenominon'. The man repeats what he said as if he has no previous vocabulary.
Three people, a sheriff, a psychotherpaist by the name of Keating, and a docter at the hospital, talk that about the John Doe and that he has not a scratch on him.
Meanwhile Dent and his boss talk about the fruits of the mission and lack thereof. Dent gets told about how such sloppy work he did and that he should have done better. Dent points out that they killed three and that the fourth one is naked and alone but the boss says that he still would pose a threat to them. Dent says that he found out the names of the people, that their was information on labels on suspesion tubes. They sort the names out and that is when the boss realizes who the missing alien was, a fugitive and his nemesis, Ethaniel.
Keating the psycologist visits the John Doe Ethaniel and starts to help him recover his memories.
At a bar Dent asks a local lady from the hospital if the John Doe will get his memory back. Dent flashes his badge and the woman comments that he is a 'regular James Bond'. Dent and the woman converse and woman says that his blood is 'factory fresh' and without antibodies, and that the John Doe being alive at all was unreal.
Meanwhile in the hospital Ethaniel dreams about his crash and getting shot in the back with a large dart. He wakes up in a cold sweat.
In the morning Keating wants to have another regression session later that day. Ethaniel then finds out a bit of what he has to do after he tells Keating about what his dream was. He knows that his mission can't wait but is still not sure about what it is.
The docter and sheriff tell Keating to come with them to the hospital. We now know who the man in the black suits name is, Banning.
Banning has a court order to take Ethaniel back to his research clinic. Keating wants it to be cleared with Gramm but Banning says that it is already done. Keating gets a bad feeling about Banning.
Dent follows Keating and drops a small silver blob on her as she is going down the stairs. The purpose of the cute blob is unknown so far.
At Laura's hotel Dent tries to talk to Laura and get her outside her room but she refuses. A doberman barks at Dent and the hotel greeter takes note of the dogs odd agressiveness. Dent asks to be signed in and the woman shows him the way.
In the hospital Banning pays Ethaniel a visit. Banning talks to him and Ethaniel knows that he is not a good man after he talks in an alien language.
Ethaniel fights with banning and his two bodyguards.
The hotel greeter, Rachel, whom is Laura's friend visits her and comes into her room. The doberman barks at 'Rachel' and then the clip holding the leash to the fence breaks and the dog attacks the woman and bites her arm. The woman then changes and just happens to be Dent who shapshifted into her form.
The fight between Ethaniel and Banning continue but Ethaniel is restrained and stabbed in the neck with a syringe and the serum sedates him.
Laura locks herself into the bathroom and Dent punches holes into it and gets inside but not before Laura breaks out a window with the lid to the tank of the potty and manages to escape.
Back at the Dorian Medical Center Laura sneaks in and Dent follows. Banning orders for Ethaniel to be sedated again. Laura knows that she is being followed and hides. She grabs a scalpel to use as a weapon on Dent but Ethaniel accidentally scares her and she drops it.
The two decide to get out of there but Dent is too quick and Ethaniel gets into a small fight with him. Laura helps Ethaniel by getting a large jar filled with some sort of medicine or chemicals and throws it at Dent which douses him in the liquid. Laura then gets a metal lamp and throws it at Dent which hits a wall and causes sparks to fly. Laura then gets a gurney and shoves it against Dent and knocking him into the raging flames. The end result is Dent catching on fire and distracting him temporarily. Laura and Ethaniel then go outside and get into a car but Laura forgot her keys. Ethaniel touches the dashboard with his hands and concentrates then the car roars to life. Ethaniel apparently can communicate with machines. The car's gears switch and goes into reverse out of the parking space and then foward out of the lot.
Banning orders for Dent to find the others and get 'fixed'. It is then that it becomes obvious that Dent is a machine. His burnt 'flesh' and suit change all the sudden and becomes 'new' again.
Ethaniel and Laura drive back to the hotel and the dead Rachel is being loaded up into an ambulance. The police are there and the sheriff informs her that she is under arrest for homicide. Ethaniel sees Laura being taken away by the police and stops them from doing so. The two get in a police cruiser and drive away with the police hot in pursuit. Laura explains that the police were the good guys until he ruined it. Ethaniel outsmarts the police by turning off his lights and then quickly turning them on again blinding the policeman and sending his vehicle crashing into a shed.
Laura takes note of Ethaniel's specialty with machines and Ethaniel says that he is a good tactition but does not know why.
Laura says that the police will not give up in their pursuit of them and Ethaniel says they will not give up running away from them.
Laura then demands that they get rid of the car for fear of another high speed chase.
Ethaniel says the reason that they could not find out who he was is because he is an alien and that he is in human form for a mission. He says that he has memories of something horrible that will happen, a crime. He says the ship that was completing his transformation was destroyed. Laura notes that the last thing that was to take place was the completion of a protion of his brain, an area of it that had to do with storing and processing memories. She said that he can still recover his memories even now.
At a small sitting area outside, Laura asks if Ethaniel can shapeshift like Dent but he says that he cannot since he was designed to be human and that Dent's design was for something else.
Laura and Ethaniel then meet a man named Gordon, a friend of Laura, at his house. Gordon is a remote viewer. He complains that people use him alot and Laura says that he lets himself be used because of what he is.
With Ethaniels help Gordon shows on a map where the spaceship crashed.
Ethaniel then notices the little metallic blob on Laura and knows that it was Bannings. The blob was giving live video and audio feed to Banning as he sits in his car. Ethaniel crushes the blob with his fingers.
Gordon then lets Laura take his map and car and she thanks him for his immense help in the matter.
Laura and Ethaniel drive through a city and then into the woods outside the city. They find the location of the crsh and Ethaniel explains what happened, that he was chased by Banning and hurt.
Meanwhile, Banning comments on how horribly Dent has done and that he could destroy him of he did not do his job good enough. he asks why he gives away information to him so blindly. Dent then says that he is special and has no emotions and is not afraid of Banning possibly wanting to destroy him. He says that he is different from the aliens and that Banning needs someone to trust, like Banning's own creation, himself. Banning says that he needs nobody to trust, even Dent, and that he would kill those that know too much.
Banning orders for Dent to go to the site of the crash despite that he has men posted there.
Laura and Ethaniel go to the crash site at night and see that there is a large black semi truck with people in protective suits running around. There are several SUVs and other trucks there. They are loading up the ship. Ethaniel and Laura watch for a moment until Dent shows up and demands that Laura come with him. He says that Ethaniel has questions and that he has the awnsers to them. Ethaniel questions Dent and demands to know what would become of Laura.
Dent says that Laura knows more that what is safe and Ethaniel says that Laura cannot go with Dent.
Dent puts another blob on a neaby tree and says that Mr. Banning will want to see this. The blob sends the live feed to a satellite and then to Bannings car.
Dent and Ethaniel fight and exchange punches but Laura gets knocked out in the process. Ethaniel throws Dent into the air and he lands on a knocked over tree trunk and Dent is knocked out himself. Laura sees Dent and his eyes change color as if he has temporarily shutdown. Ethaniel explains to Laura what Dent is and Laura says that Dent is horrible.
Banning gives an alien cry and calls out to Ethaniel who decides to get away from the area for good reason.
Ethaniel takes note that he cannot go home again and that he needs to access the information on the ship. He says that he never thought that one day he could call Earth home.
