Stats: In Warcraft III they are powerful demons with around 1300-1600 attack points and have the following abilities: Cripple, Dispel, War Stomp, Rain of Fire.
Strategy: In WCIII They usually start out swinging away with their flaming swords doing Chaos damage and if you're a low powered Hero than you're in trouble. If you attempt to run away they Cripple you, and even if you don't they still might Cripple you. The effects of Cripple slow you down to a crawl and allow the DG to get more hits in while preventing you from hitting back effectively. If there is a bunch of units around than they will use the awe inspiring War Stomp which stuns your units for a short time and also doing damage. He may also use Rain of Fire, a spell which is usually cast on buildings and or weak, near death units. The best thing to do is surround the unit and overwhelm him. This will force him to choose one target, leaving the others mostly unscathed. A big weakness for the DG is when he casts ROF. He must keep casting it and not do anything else but cast until the spell is complete or stop and thus know that he shouldn't have casted it in the first place. Basically the DG knows that 'If you're going to go through with something, than go through with it all the way and till the end.' |
