ERS-220
Features
Ideal for those who like their robots to look and behave like robots. When
used in conjunction with autonomous AIBOware, the ERS-220 will learn and
develop from its experiences and the environment around it. The futuristic
robotic design features a powerful retractable headlight that illuminates
the area ahead of the ERS-220. Additional lights and LEDs. There is a 6
LED face side light, 3 face front lights, 3 tail lights and a back multi-indicator
with 6 LEDs, as well as a mode indicator light and a chest light. There
are numerous touch sensors, including a vertical head sensor, a face sensor,
back sensor, 4 paw sensors and 3 tail sensors. You can use these sensors
to train your AIBO. 16 degrees of freedom. The ERS-220 has 16 moveable joints,
including 3 for each of the legs, 3 for the head and one for the retractable
headlight. These give AIBO smoother, more rapid movement. Wireless LAN Capability.
There is a range of wireless LAN software which can be used with the ERS-220
- opening up another world of Entertainment Robotics. Sight - the ERS-220
has a 2D colour camera, and a infra-red distance sensor. When combined these
allow your AIBO to see the world in 3D. Sound - stereo microphones located
either side of the head allow the ERS-220 to hear voice commands. It can
even tell from which direction the sound originated. Voice - AIBO uses speakers
to communicate, making various sound effects through its speakers. Balance
- an internal tri-axial-accelerometer allows AIBO to sense when it has been
picked up and also, if it has fallen over, to determine the best way to
get back on its feet.
