The hardest part was installing the weatherstriping. The '55 and '56 cars used glue on trunk lid weatherstriping instead of the push in clips used on '57 models.
It is easiest to install the weatherstriping BEFORE you install the trunk lid.
You have to have someone help you install the lid, hold it in place, and tighten up the bolts. Then adjust the lid until it closes flush with the top and edges.
