My Grandfather, Daniel Harvey, was an alcoholic and did little to support his family. Somewhere along the line, he and my Grandmother May Harvey either separated or divorced. When Warren Stokes came into the picture, I do not know, but he was with my Grandmother when I was born in 1940. This man had a lot of love for my brother George and myself and I think of him frequently. He died of stomach cancer in the Kingston City Hospital when I was a young teen. I know nothing about him or his family but he was "my Grandfather". We called him "Pop".
