TRUE FRIENDSHIP HAS THE FOLLOWING CHARACTERISTICS:
  1. KINDRED SPIRIT -- (verse 20)  "I have no one else with the same soul/mind."
  2. 1 Samuel 18:1; 20:17 -- "Jonathan became one in spirit with David."
  3. GENUINE CONCERN FOR OTHERS -- (verse 20-21)
  4. SERVANT'S HEART -- (verses 22-24)
  5. FOCUS ON ETERNAL THINGS -- (what matters ultimately)  (verse 21-22)
  6. on the interests of Jesus Christ and the work of the gospel
  7. DEPENDABLE, FAITHFUL -- (verses 25-27) partner, sure
  8. TAKE RISKS FOR YOU -- (verses 26-27, 30)
  9. PLEASANT TO BE WITH -- (verses 28-29)
  10. Bring joy, honorable
  11. COMMITTED TO CHRIST -- (verse 30)
  12. Mind of Christ was the mind of Timothy and Epaphroditus
