THOMAS JEWER

1. Thomas Jewer was a fisherman in Spaniard’s Bay, Newfoundland. He was born around the 1830s to 1840s, but the location is unknown. He had a wife named ELIZABETH.

2. HENRY JEWER2 (THOMAS1)
Henry Jewer was born in Spaniard’s Bay, Newfoundland in 1840 and J. Burt baptized him on December 20, 18403. There are two ‘Henry Jewers’ listed in the 1894 McAlpine’s Directory. The first is a fisherman and the other is a laborer. The 1898 McAlpine’s Directory has a Henry Jewer listed as being a fisherman and the other ‘Henry Jewer’ is not listed. He was married to MARY. There is no record of him after 1898, indicating he left area. If Henry was a laborer he left Spaniard’s Bay or passed away sometime between 1894 and 1898. If he was a fisherman then it would be have been after 1898.

3. ELIZABETH JULIA JEWER3 (HENRY22, THOMAS1)
Elizabeth Julia Jewer was born in Spaniard’s Bay, Newfoundland on July 3, 1861 and W. H. Earle baptized her on July 22, 18614. She married Levi Chipman (see him in the Chipman section) on May 31, 1882. Fred Smith performed their ceremony in the presence of Solomon Gosse and Susannah Chipman5. She can be found at the wedding of Melvina Jewer on December 9, 1880 as a witness6. She died sometime between 1889 and 1896. For her children see Levi Chipman in the Chipman Section.

4. JOHN JEWER4 (HENRY22, THOMAS1)
John Jewer was born in Spaniard’s Bay, Newfoundland on July 3, 1863 and W. F. Meek baptized him on October 4, 18637. He left the area sometime during his life as he is not listed in any source after his birth.

5. SOLOMON JEWER5 (HENRY22, THOMAS1)
Solomon Jewer was born in Spaniard’s Bay, Newfoundland on February 29, 1868 and was baptized by John Noel on March 8, 18688. He eventually left the area, as he is not listed in any other source after his birth
