Karen Palaganas at 18
By Giovanni F. Madrid
PLANNING a celebration for
your kid? Here are some ingredients for a really good teen party:
* Amusing invitations - creative ones that really communicate all the
important information.
* Good music - whether it's stereo system, a disc jock spinning records, or
the local high school's jazz band.
* Good food - and plenty of it, plenty of good sodas and new drink ideas
(no liquor, definitely), so that the absence of alcohol will not be a
negative one.
* Invite a good mix of guests.
* Parental presence nearby (but invisible), or hire chaperons like some
attractive college students who can be tough about any liquor or drugs
smuggled into the party.
* An amusing and different kind of theme around which the decorations, the
action, and what people wear are all very much organized.
