     2.  Elizabeth2 Shepherd (William1) was born 1813 in Georgia.  She married Jesse A. Arrington December 16, 1830 in Upson County, Georgia.  He was born 1810 in Georgia.

    

Children of Elizabeth Shepherd and Jesse Arrington are:

       4              i.        Becky Ann3 Arrington, born 1840.

       5             ii.        A.W. Arrington, born 1841.

       6            iii.        John A. Arrington, born November 18, 1842 in Upson County, Georgia; died August 20, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia.  He married Martha L. McKenely.

 

Notes for John A. Arrington:

Joined the CSA on March 4, 1862.  He was wounded near Atlanta, Georgia on August 14, 1864.  He surrendered at Greensboro, NC on April 26, 1865.  He died at the Confederate Soldiers Home in Atlanta, Georgia on August 20, 1923. 

 

Filed for pension in Cobb County, Georgia

Hooks November 15, 1866 in Upson County, Georgia, son of Ezekiel Hooks and Jemima Williams.  He was born December 18, 1847 in Georgia, and died November 11, 1916 in Upson County, Georgia.

Notes for Thomas J. Hooks:

Thomas J. Hooks was a member of the Emmaus Church in Upson County Ga. Records indicate that he was dismissed from the Emmaus Church in Aug., 1866.     Other records place Thomas and Epsie Arrington at the Friendship Baptist Church after 1867.

Went to school at Marietta Campground in a one-room schoolhouse.
