Fue Presidente del Army Navy Club de Coral Gables, en 1998 Es veterano de Vietnam. 14 Apr 2002 - Dear Family, As many of you know, my Dad is one of the frequent contributors to our family email distribution list. The purpose of this short note is to give an update and let you know why he has not sent much email at all in the last few weeks. It's a situation that has him somewhat frustrated, if I may say so, and he is very chagrined that he has not been able to answer emails sent to him personally. Recall that on 25 March, he hit his RIGHT hand (his writing hand, of course). In the next few days, the doctors confirmed that he had no broken bones, but his hand continued to swell, become painful, and in general, worsen. Seen by a hand specialist the night of 30 March, he was scheduled for emergency surgery the next day on Easter Sunday. They drained the hand and removed a considerable amount of infected tissue, since he had developed a "runaway" infection. He has been recuperating. Daily visits by a nurse to administer the antibiotics, as well as daily therapy and cleaning of the open wound were helping heal the hand. Unfortunately, the doctors recently discovered that one of his finger tendons was cut and they did a second surgery this past Thursday. He now has a splint and the hand is totally bandaged since this time, they closed the wound. Next Wednesday, they will examine the hand and the stitches, and if everything is OK .. they will put a cast on the hand for about four weeks in order to let the tendon heal. Though my Dad is learning how to use his left hand and how to do things "one-handed", it will be a while before he does a lot of typing. Sus estudios de Posgrado son en Sociolog�a Urbana en Northwestern University (Evanston, Illinois) y en Planeaci�n Urbana y Regional de la Architectural Association de Londres. Se dedic� a la vida acad�mica. Fue decano de la Facultad de Arquitectura de la Javeriana del 72 al 81 y decano de la Facultad de Estudios Interdisciplinarios del 81 al 94.
