BURIAL: Buried in Oakwood Cemetery Annex, off Martin Luther King and Comal Sts., Austin. Grave located near east border of cemetery near Leona St. just north of 17th. Marker is a pinkish cross which carries an inscription carved by her son Manual. It reads in Spanish "Sus aflijidos hijos dedican este recuerdo a su madre Sra. Maria de Vazquez murio a la edad 46 anos el 14 de Julio 1935, Rogamos. D.E.P" A rough translation is "Her grieving children dedicate this remembrance to their mother Senora Maria de Vazquez who died at the age of 46 years on the 14th of July 1935. We pray. Rest in peace."

BIOGRAPHY: Supposedly came to Texas as a small child. Said to speak English, Spanish and German and to play the harmonica. Moved to Austin when Vera was a small child.
BURIAL: Buried on south fence line. Headstone in place.
