Spring Stampede comes on the air and we go to the announce table where Gene Bennett, Scott Hudson and Mark Madden are.

Hudson:  Welcome to SPRING STAMPEDE!!  I am Scott Hudson along side Gene Bennett and Mark Madden.  Tonight could be a defining night in WCW History.

Bennett:  That's right Scott.  Tonight the TV and US Titles are on the line.  Also we have The Lethal Lottery tonight where someone will earn a World Title shot.

Madden:  Not only that, tonight Rhino and Scott Steiner will face off in a Recliner Match guys.  One man will be forced to tap out to the other, something that will change them forever.

Bennett:  Also don't forget Roddy Piper debuts here in WCW tonight when he teams with Vampiro.  The Hot Scot is back, and who knows who he is coming after, maybe you Mark.

Hudson:  For those of you who watched Thunder we announced the pairings for the Lethal Lottery at the end of the show.  But one match we haven't touched on is Sting verse The Undertaker in a casket match.  One of these men will be locked into a casket.  This will resolve a big problem here in WCW.

Madden:  This could also drive the final nail into the coffin for the Ministry.  They haven't been a very well oiled team lately, and if the Undertaker goes into that casket the Ministry will disappear for good.

Hudson:  Lets get to our first match, it will be The Ministries Paul Wight and Mortis taking on Disqo and Jaime Knoble.

Bennett:  Let's not forget Disqo will be the ref in TV title match where The Triple Threat takes on Ric Flair, Arn Anderson and Jeff Jarrett.

Battle Bowl Match:
The Ministry (Mortis and Paul Wight) defeated Disqo and Jaime Knoble when Mortis pinned Disqo with the Flatliner in 0:07:43.
Rating: * 3/4

This match should have been dominated by the Ministry, but there was friction between the two men.  Mortis and Wight several times almost came to blows during the match.  However the experience and size of the Ministry got them the win and they advanced to the battle royal.

Madden:  That wasn't what I was expecting in that match.

Bennett:  The Ministry is crumbling before our eyes guys, and I for one love it.  I was on the front lines of that battle and I am glad we are winning.

Hudson:  Lets go to the back where Mean Gene is with Arn Anderson and his partner tonight Steve Blackman.

Mean:  Arn Anderson, tonight you could have triple duty as you not only are in this match, but the six man and perhaps the battle royal, is your mind on this match?

Arn:  Gene, you have known me lon---

Blackman:  Your mind best be on this match old man.  This is my chance to get a world title shot so don't blow it.

Arn:  Listen to me boy.  You need to learn a little respect.  Tonight if you just keep your head on straight and do what I tell you we can advance, if not just stay out of my way.

Mean:  It doesn't look like this team is the same page.

Battle Bowl Match:
The Undertaker and William Regal defeated Steve Blackman and Arn Anderson when Undertaker pinned Blackman with the Last Rites in 0:10:46.
Rating: * 3/4

This match was a two teams of strange partners.  The team of The Undertaker and William Regal had some good team work while Blackman and Anderson argued often.  The end came when Blackman finally got fed up with Anderson and hit Arn with his Kendo stick.  This set up the Last Rites and the win for the Taker and Regal.

Bennett:  Steve Blackman just screwed himself out of a possible world title shot.

Madden:  Well Steve Blackman is the Lethal Weapon and he didn't need Arn Anderson telling him what to do.  Arn isn't making friends real fast since his in ring return.

Hudson:  Right now lets go to Mike Tenay who is with Big Vito and Little Guido.

Tenay:  Little Guido, in mere moments you will be on opposites sides of your FBI partner Big Vito.

Guido:  Mike, it is a blessing actually.  This way there will be a FBI representative in the battle royal and we will be getting that title shot.

Tenay:  Well what if at one point it is you Big Vito and Guido in the ring together?

Vito:  Hey don't sweat it Mike.  Tonight is going to be the FBI's night.

Tenay:  Lets get to the ring.

Battle Bowl Match:
Spike Dudley and Big Vito defeated Little Guido Maritato and Lance Storm when Vito pinned L. Storm after a powerslam in 0:06:46.
Rating: * 3/4

This was a bit of an upset in most peoples eyes.  The team of Storm and Guido were more technically sound, but Spike wanted revenge against his former partner.  The end came to a brawl and Storm feel victim to a powerslam and the pinfall.  After the match the FBI attacked Spike Dudley before leaving him in the ring knocked out.

Battle Bowl Match:
Booker T and Owen Hart defeated Scott Steiner and Bret Hart when Booker T pinned B. Hart with the Book End in 0:12:17.
Rating: ** 1/2

This match was surprising good.  The team work of both teams wasn't the best for either team but both teams wanted the end.  The end came during a double team from Steiner and Hart.  The ref was getting Steiner out of the ring when Owen hit Bret with an Enziguri which sent him right into the Book End and the win.

Bennett:  Looks like Booker T is going into the battle royal folks.  Booker might be his own number one contender.

Hudson:  That is a blessing in disguise actually.  Should Booker fall to either Steiner or Rhino on Nitro he would have a rematch at our next pay per view, Slamboree.

Madden:  Our next match will see the debut of Roddy Piper in WCW as he teams with Vampiro against Just Joe and the FBI's Johnny the Bull.

Battle Bowl Match:
Vampiro and Roddy Piper defeated Just Joe and Johnny the Bull when Vampiro pinned Joe with the Nail In the Coffin in 0:03:27.
Rating: * 1/4

This match was short and sweet as Vamp and Piper really dominated Joe and Johnny.  Piper locked the Sleeper onto JTB while Joe got hit with the Nail in the Coffin and got pinned.

Battle Bowl Match:
Lash LeRoux and Chris Candido defeated Papa Shango and Jim Neidhart when LeRoux pinned Neidhart after a flying cross body press in 0:05:48.
Rating: *

Lash and Chris were a very good team together and defeated the much bigger team of Neidhart and Shango.  Shango cost his team the win when he ran into Neidhart allowing the bodypress and the pin by LeRoux.

Battle Bowl Match:
Big Van Vader and Danny Doring defeated Gangrel and Sting when Doring pinned Gangrel with the Danaconda in 0:04:56.
Rating: *

As the match started Sting gave Gangrel the Scorpion Death Drop and left him in the ring.  The US champ Vader was like shark that smells blood.  He went right after the fallen Gangrel.  He then gave Gangrel a huge powerbomb and tagged in Danny Doring who finished him off with the Danaconda legdrop.  As the ref counted three Vader dropped a big splash on both men.  Vader then gave Doring a powerbomb followed by the Vader Bomb before leaving.

Hudson:  A monster just got into the battle royal.

Bennett:  I don't care who else is in the match, my man Vader is going all the way and I think will become the World Champion at Slamboree on May 27th only on pay per view.

Madden:  I am getting word that Mean Gene is with our CEO Ric Flair.

Mean:  Thank you Mark.  I am here with Ric Flair and his tag team partner tonight Brian Christopher.  Earlier in the night Brian your partner Steve Blackman ended up costing Arn Anderson, Ric Flair's best friend, his chance at Battle Bowl.

Christopher:  That is between Steve and Arn.  Hopefully Ric can be professional and we can forget about that.  Tonight we have my former partner Scott Taylor and a man that doesn't respect this man's legendary status Shane Douglas.

Flair:  MEAN--BY GOD--GENE!  Brian is right, what happened earlier is between Steve and Arn.  Tonight I get two chances at Shane Douglas.  For over seven years we have been slinging mud back and forth but tonight we meet in the ring.  Shane, get ready because you are going to be in the ring with the NATURE BOY!  WHOO!

Mean:  Lets get to the ring where Scott Taylor and Shane Douglas are.

Shane:  Shut the hell up Detroit and listen to me.  Tonight I get my hand on that old fossil Ric Flair.  For seven years, SEVEN YEARS, that horsetoothed jackass has been running his mouth about me.  He said that he was going to shut my mouth but he is mistaken.  Tonight not only does he get his ass franschied but so does he butt buddies Arn Anderson and Jeff Jarrett.  This is a warning for that so called special ref Disqo, don't go screwing around with the Triple Threat or you will get your ass franschied!

Battle Bowl Match:
Brian Christopher and Ric Flair defeated Scott Taylor and Shane Douglas when Flair pinned Douglas after a small package in 0:08:36.
Rating: ** 1/4

This match was an out and out brawl.  Taylor and Christopher really zoned in on each other.  With neither man being on a winning streak both wanted this win bad.  Douglas and Flair however had personal problems and it showed.  The end came about like this.  Taylor hit Flair with a bulldog and the Worm.  He then went for the cover but Douglas pulls him off and throws him out of the ring.  Douglas then mocks Flair by setting up the Figure Four, which Flair counters into a small package for the win.  This brought out C.W. Anderson and Chris Candido who attacked Flair.  The save was then made by Brian Christopher and Scott Taylor.  The Triple Threat quickly retreated.

Bennett:  Douglas just cost himself a chance in the battle bowl, what a jackass.

Madden:  Gene, you better watch yourself, that is the Franchise you are talking about.

Hudson:  Well up next the Chosen one teams with Ray Traylor to take on Bill DeMott and the man beast Rhino.

Battle Bowl Match:
Bill DeMott and Rhino defeated Jeff Jarrett and Ray Traylor when DeMott pinned Jarrett with the No Laughing Matter in 0:05:41.
Rating: * 1/4

The Chosen One came up short in this match because of the hot streak Rhino is on.  There doesn't seem to be any stopping the Man Beast Rhino.  Rhino really controlled most of the match with DeMott finishing off Jarrett with the No Laughing Matter Moonsault.

Battle Bowl Match:
Curt Hennig and Tony Mamaluke defeated Roadkill and C.W. Anderson when Curt Hennig defeated C.W. Anderson by countout in 0:05:10.
Rating: * 3/4

In the final battle bowl match Mr. Perfect and Tony Mamaluke continued on into the battle royal.  The win came when Arn Anderson came out and gave C.W. a DDT on the pavement setting up the countout loss.

Madden:  What in the hell was Arn doing out here during this match?  That isn't fair!

Bennett:  Well it is about to get even more unfair because here come Jarrett and Flair.

Match with Special Referee Disqo:
The Triple Threat (C.W. Anderson, Chris Candido and Shane Douglas) defeated Ric Flair, Arn Anderson and Jeff Jarrett when Douglas pinned Anderson with the Franchiser in 0:10:47.
Rating: *** 1/4
(Shane Douglas won the WCW TV Title)

We had a new TV Champion crowned as Shane Douglas got the win in this match.  This match was a six man brawl the entire time as Disqo just kind of watched what was going on.  The end came when Disqo turned on Flair and company.  Flair hit C.W. with a pair of brass knuckles and went for the pin.  Disqo counted the up to two and stopped.  Flair asked Disqo what he was doing when Disqo kicked him in the gut and gave him the Last Dance.  Jarrett tried to come over but was attacked by Candido and together Disqo and Candido sent him to the floor.  Arn then knocked Candido to the floor and attacked Disqo.  Douglas spun Arn around and hit the Franchiser on Arn.  Disqo then made the quickest three count in history and along with the Triple Threat retreated to the back.

Bennett:  I can't believe Disqo just turned on Ric Flair.  I don't agree with the way Ric was treating Disqo but this wasn't right.

Madden:  For once Disqo might have done the right thing.  Flair is an old man that isn't needed any more and maybe Disqo will put the man out for good.

Hudson:  Hundreds of people have tried to end Ric Flair's career, what makes you think that Disqo Inferno can?

Bennett:  Let's go to the back where Mean Gene is with Disqo and his new buddies the Triple Threat.

Mean:  Disqo, what were you thinking attacking our CEO Ric Flair?

Disqo:  What was I thinking?  For the last couple of weeks Ric has been having a good laugh at my expense.  Well who is laughing now Naitch?

Douglas:  Mean Gene, did you think that the Franchise would come into this match without a plan?  I DON'T THINK SO!  That old fossil Ric Flair will never forget this night, and neither will you Disqo.

From behind C.W. attacks Disqo.  Along with Shane and Chris they put the boots to Disqo.

Douglas:  Did you really think we would allow a loser like you into the Triple Threat.  You suck and always have, and that's a fact, that's a fact, that's a fact JACKASS!

Bennett:  I don't condone what Disqo did but I think Disqo got a little of his own medicine.

Madden:  I knew that Disqo was a loser and this proves it.

Hudson:  Moments ago you were singing the praises of Disqo, you don't know what you are talking about do you?

Bennett:  As much fun as it is to listen to this argument guys, we have a show to announce.  Up next is the US title match between William Regal and Big Van Vader, the current champion.

William Regal pinned Big Van Vader after a small package in 0:11:20.
Rating: *** 1/2
(William Regal won the WCW United States Title.)

This match was a great match up between two of the hottest stars in WCW.  Vader was in charge most of the match because of his size.  However Vader was too confident and wouldn't pin Regal.  He pulled Regal up several times before the three count went down.  The end came when Regal couldn't hardly stand on his own two feet and collapsed when Vader went for the Powerbomb.  Vader picked him up the second time and Regal rolled him up with a small package and got the win.  Regal quickly grabbed the belt and escaped to the back.  Vader meanwhile completely snapped in the ring.  He attacked official Nick Patrick who took a powerbomb and the Vader Bomb before he left.  We then go to the back where Mike Tenay is with William Regal.

Tenay:  William Regal, you have just become the US Champion, how do you feel?

Regal:  Listen here sunshine.  Tonight I proved why the English are much better then any American.  Tonight the US title is no more, long live the British Heavyweight Title.

Tenay:  You can't just go around changing the names of our titles here in WCW.

Regal:  You miserable little toe rag, I am the British Champion and I can do what I want.

Tenay:  Well there goes our British Heavyweight champion.  Let's get to the ring where Rhino and Scott Steiner are going to fight in a Recliner match.

Recliner Match:
Rhino made Scott Steiner submit to the Rhino Recliner in 0:14:38.
Rating: **** 1/2

In a match to get a shot at the World Champion Booker T on Nitro, these two men tore into each other.  Midajah kept her distance from Steiner in this match.  It went back and forth but Midajah did make the difference.  She distracted Steiner which allowed Rhino to gore Steiner through a table.  This set up the Rhino Recliner which Steiner passed out in.

Bennett:  Rhino just got the win and the title shot on Nitro.  I hope Booker T is ready for Rhino.

Madden:  Actually Booker T should pay attention to getting the win here tonight because after Nitro he won't be the champion, I predict Rhino is the champion after Nitro.

Hudson:  Let's find out just who is going to face whoever the World Champion is at Slamboree because this is BATTLE BOWL!!

No-Countout-No-DQ-20-Man Battle Royal:
Big Van Vader won a 20-man Battle Royal:
x Spike Dudley threw out LeRoux after a choke against the ropes      in 0:04:31
x Spike Dudley threw out Piper after a punch in 0:07:15
x Mamaluke threw out Candido after a knifehand chop in 0:08:39
x Mortis threw out Curt Hennig after a backdrop in 0:15:51
x Undertaker threw out Vito after a duck-down move in 0:17:22
x Wight threw out DeMott after a duck-down move in 0:19:58
x Vader threw out Doring in 0:20:45
x Vader threw out Booker T after a kick to the head in 0:21:37

x Vader threw out Christopher after an elbowsmash in 0:31:59
x Wight threw out Undertaker after a facerake in 0:34:04
x Spike Dudley threw out Wight after a dropkick in 0:35:38
x Regal threw out Spike Dudley after a side step in 0:36:57
x Vader threw out O. Hart after a bodyslam in 0:37:53
x Vader threw out Regal in 0:38:17
Rating: ** 1/2

This was the twenty men who won the tag matches from earlier in the night.  The first big thing to come out of this was when Mortis threw out Vampiro.  Mortis was then pulled out by Vamp while Tony Mamaluke tried to eliminate him.  Mortis and Vamp then fought to the back.  A few minutes later the Ministry really ran into troubles as Paul Wight eliminated The Undertaker.  Wight however then fell victim to what many other giants in the wrestling world have, that being Spike Dudley.  Dudley hit the Acid Drop and then dropkicked Wight out.  William Regal then got rid of Spike leaving Owen Hart, William Regal and Big Van Vader.  Regal and Owen tried to get rid of Vader but he was just too big.  Vader eliminated both men and gets the title shot at Slamboree.

Bennett:  Big Van Vader, the man, gets a World Title shot at Slamboree.  I don't care who the champion is then it will be Vader that walks out the champion.  When I brought him to WCW months ago I knew he would do it again and he will.

Madden:  Can you imagine Rhino verse Big Van Vader for the title at Slamboree, what a match.

Hudson:  I think you two men are really counting your chickens before they hatch.  Rhino has to beat Booker T, which is no easy task.  Then Vader really doesn't know who he will be facing, but the champion will know that Vader is coming, that gives the champ the advantage.

Bennett:  Well we have a few weeks to discuss this.  Up next it is Sting going against the Undertaker in a casket match.

Madden:  Sting has never been better when he was in the Ministry.  He then turned on The Undertaker.  Tonight the Undertaker does what no one else has been able to do, end Sting's career.

Hudson:  Let's go to the ring and find out.

Casket Match:
Sting defeated The Undertaker in 0:10:37.
Rating: **

Sting won this match and it was a great match.  Both men were in action in a tag match and the Undertaker was in the battle royal.  It showed as the Taker was much slower then normal.  Taker looked ready to win the match when we saw the Ministry as a whole come out on the ramp in a giant brawl.  This distracted Taker allowing Sting to hit the Scorpion Death Drop and lock Taker into the casket for the win.

Hudson:  It looks like the Ministry has dissolved here at Spring Stampede.

Bennett:  Security has finally separated the Ministry on the ramp.  What a night this has been.

Madden:  Don't forget, tomorrow night Rhino faces Booker T and the New Hart Foundation takes on The Hart Foundation for the tag titles.

Hudson:  The next time we will be on pay per view will be May 27th and it will be Slamboree.  For Gene Bennett, Mike Tenay, Mark Madden and Mean Gene, I am Scott Hudson, see you on Nitro.
