What makes a legend?  Do World Titles make legends?  Is it your matches?  Is it how many sellouts you created?  Tonight legends will be made and legends may be broken.  Careers will be made and maybe even a few broken.  All that and more here at Slamboree! We see the crowd and fireworks and then go to the announce table where Mike Tenay is with Mark Madden. Tenay:  Welcome to Slamboree everyone.  As you can see Scott Hudson and Gene Bennett are not here tonight. Madden:  For those of you who missed Thunder lets see what happened. We see footage of Rhino piledriving both Sting and Scott Steiner through tables from the ring apron.  We then see him pull Scott Hudson into the ring but Gene Bennett tried to make the save with a chair.  Gene was gored and then Hudson was put into the Rhino Recliner.  Madden:  While I don't care for either of the guys, but lets hope they are ok.  Tenay:  I understand that the WCW brass has said if anyone touches either of us they will be fired on the spot.  So we will be safe. Madden:  I don't know if that will stop them though Mike with the wrestlers being so hyped.  Tonight will be some of the hardest hitting action we have seen all year in WCW. Tenay:  We already have something going on in the back. In the back we see a limo pulling up.  Out step Arn Anderson, Jeff Jarrett and the Nature Boy Ric Flair.  Ric has his usual robe on, but this time it is stripped like an official.  Flair:  Do you feel it?  Tonight I prove who the real legend is in professional wrestling.  Arn:  Also tonight I prove that you can't just be called an Anderson and expect to be tough.  Tonight I take that Triple Threat down a notch. Jarrett:  And lets not forget that slapass Curt Hennig gets shown who has ALL the Stroke around here.  I am going to play my greatest hit yet. Madden:  Those men mean business. Tenay:  Our first match is in the ring, the FBI going against Scott Taylor, Bill DeMott and Lash LeRoux. Bill DeMott, Lash LeRoux and Scott Taylor defeated FBI (Big Vito, Johnny the Bull and Little Guido Maritato) when Taylor pinned Vito with the Worm in 0:08:15. Rating: ** 1/4 This match was really two well-oiled teams.  The FBI worked on Lash LeRoux for most of the match.  They made several tags and several double teams on Lash before finally Lash made the tag.  DeMott was a house of fire taking out the three in ring members of the FBI and also Tony Mamaluke and Big Sal.  DeMott hit his No Laughing Matter on Guido but Vito broke it up and a brawl ensued.  During it Lash hit the Whiplash 2000 on Vito setting up the Worm from Taylor and the win.  The FBI quickly retreated.  In the ring Scott Taylor, Bill DeMott and Lash LeRoux danced. Madden:  I don't believe it.  The FBI falls to those idiots?  This is a huge fluke. Tenay:  A fluke perhaps?  But entertaining to watch this dancing for sure.   Madden:  I never thought I would say this, but I wish Hudson was here. Tenay:  Let's go to the back where Mean Gene is with Mortis. Mean:  Mortis, rumor has it you wanted this time, however you have yet to talk on camera. Mortis looks at Mean Gene.  He then unties his mask. Kanyon:  Gene, everyone out there knew I was behind the mask.  Everyone out there remembers when I lost to the Undertaker and had to put this mask on once again.  Well not anymore. Tonight Kanyon re-emerges on the scene in here WCW.  This new power here in WCW, whoever it is, sent a letter telling me to get rid of this crap.  He even told me to burn them.  Tonight Kanyon returns.  Mean:  In just moments it will be Kanyon, Vampiro and Roddy Piper going at it.  Lets see what brought this match about. We see footage of Roddy Piper pinning both men after the other men interfered.  We then go to the ring where they are locking up. No-Countout-No-DQ-3-Man Battle Royal: Kanyon won a 3-man Battle Royal:          x Piper defeated Vampiro after the Sleeper in 0:09:30          x Kanyon defeated Piper after the Flatliner in 0:09:40 Rating: ** 3/4 These three men had a great three-way dance.  Early on it was everyone on everyone but soon it seemed that Kanyon and Piper wanted Vampiro out and they did just that.  Kanyon hit the Flatliner and Piper locked in the Sleeper for the win.  Piper turned around and took the Flatliner and Kanyon won the match.  After the match Kanyon took the Mortis mask he has brought to ringside and put it over Piper's head before leaving. Madden:  Kanyon returns Mike, this is big news, but what was the deal with the mask? Tenay:  I am not sure.  That was strange, but then against Kanyon doesn't really have all his marbles.  Madden:  I understand that up next we have our Hardcore Champion Ray Traylor taking on Gangrel for the title. Tenay:  This is our first Hardcore Title match here on pay per view.  This all came about after the Ministry dissolved.  Gangrel started in with blood baths. Madden:  But he messed with the wrong man.  Traylor basically ran Masato Tanaka out of WCW and Gangrel might be next. Tenay:  Here we go, lets get to the ring. No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match: Gangrel pinned Ray Traylor with the Impaler in 0:05:21. Rating: 3/4* (Gangrel won the WCW Hardcore Title.) A typical hardcore match here with stuff used.  The match quickly went to the back and then outside.  Traylor tried to hit Gangrel with his car but Gangrel moved and Traylor hit the arena wall.  Gangrel pulled Traylor out and hit his Impaler DDT for the win.  Tenay:  I can't believe Traylor just tried to hit Gangrel with a car. Madden:  Well Ray is the most Hardcore man in WCW, and he will get that title back very soon I think. Tenay:  Up next is a special bonus match between Jaime Knoble and Chris Candido. Madden:  I hope Disqo and Arn Anderson are watching because no one beats the Triple Threat, JACKASS. Tenay:  Lets go to the ring. Chris Candido pinned Jaime Knoble with the Flying Headbutt in 0:08:06. Rating: ** 1/2 Two of the top cruiserweights took this opportunity to show what they had and they didn't disappoint.  Early on Knoble hit the Jumping Tombstone but Candido rolled to the floor before he could make the cover.  While Candido recovered Tammy did her job of distracting Knoble.  This allowed Candido to attack Knoble from behind.  The match ended when Candido hit a sitdown piledriver followed by his flying headbutt for the win.  Madden:  I told you Candido could to it.  He is a legend in this sport.  I don't care if it is Just Joe or Tony Mamaluke they better watch out for Chris Candido. Tenay:  Up next we have the Giant Killer Lil' Spike Dudley going up against the biggest man in our sport today, Paul Wight.  Madden:  This is because Spike has been upsetting people left and right and even cost The Big Show his chance at the Hardcore Title.  Before the match I understand that Mean Gene is with the Big Show now. Mean:  Big Show, in mere moments you have to face the Giant Killer Spike Dudley.  He has upset guys like Jeff Jarrett and Curt Hennig and even laid you out.  Show:  Gene, tonight I take that little fly and pull his wings off if you know what I mean.  He says that he is the Giant Killer, well I am the meanest giant EVER in the sport and I will destroy him. Mean:  I hope Spike knows what he is getting into. Spike Dudley pinned Paul Wight with the Acid Drop in 0:04:10. Rating: * In a quick match Spike Dudley did it once again.  Early on show couldn't get a hold of the quicker Spike Dudley.  Finally Show did and had he ready for the Showstopper.  Spike countered with a low blow and then hit the Acid Drop and got the win.  Madden:  I don't believe it, I just don't believe it.  How does he keep doing it? Tenay:  Spike is an amazing pro athlete Mark.  I think Vader or Booker T will be facing off with that man in the near future.  Madden:  I am getting word that Mean Gene is now with old bugle beak himself, Disqo. Mean:  Disqo, tonight you face off wit the TV Champion Shane Douglas for the TV Title.  This could end what you called a quest for respect.  Disqo:  Mean Gene, first off I want to tell Ric Flair to watch what happens in this ring.  Tonight I do what he has been afraid to do, step into the ring with Shane Douglas.  I know it was you Ric that has held me back my entire career here in WCW.  Mean:  Now Disqo, in fairness to our boss we don't know he has held you back. Disqo:  Well he is just that, our boss.  He got a good laugh at watching me get beat up.  He had a good laugh when I did the JOB for Jackie.  Well tonight I get the last laugh. Mean:  The TV Title is on the line next. We see footage of Disqo helping Shane Douglas win the TV Title in a six man tag match last month  We also see clips from their matches and fights all month.  We then go to the ring where Shane has the mic. Douglas:  Tonight the Triple Threat is already one for one.  I now make it two for two.  There isn't a chance in hell that a dancing goof like Disqo can beat me.  Tonight he gets his ass franchised.  THAT'S A FACT, THAT'S A FACT, THAT'S A FACT JACKASS! Disqo pinned Shane Douglas with the Last Dance in 0:08:20. Rating: ** (Disqo won the WCW TV Title.) Disqo became the TV Champion in a hard fought match.  Early on Disqo locked Shane in a figure four that nearly won the match had Disqo not be distracted by C.W. and Candido at ringside.  Shane took advantage by hitting a belly to belly as Disqo turned around.  Shane then tossed Disqo to the floor where the Triple Threat double-teamed him before sending him back into the ring.  Shane went for the Franchiser but Disqo countered with a knee to the gut.  Disqo then hit the Last Dance and got the title.  The Triple Threat tried to attack Disqo but he quickly escaped with his title. Tenay:  If that doesn't get Disqo some respect I don't know what will. Madden:  I will never respect that jackass.  That is just another fluke here tonight.  A night of flukes is what this night is.  Well I understand that our Boss has requested some time Tenay:  Before that though, lets go to the back where I understand someone has just arrived. We see a car pull up and out steps Sting.  He is wearing a neck brace and is walking very slowly.  Sting walks to the building, opens the door and is gored by Rhino.  Rhino spits on Sting before heading back into the building.  We then go to Mean Gene and Ric Flair. Mean:  Ric Flair, something needs to be done about that mad man Rhino. Flair:  MEAN---BY GOD---GENE!  WHOO!  Tonight the world gets to see a legend in the ring. Mean: Actually we get to see three legends in the ring together for what I believe is the first time ever. Flair:  Three?  If you are referring to that old bastard Harley Race or that fat slob Dusty Rhodes don't make me laugh.  Tonight I prove that I am the only true LIVING LEGEND in wrestling today.  WHOO!  Mean:  Well both of these men hold victories over you and you hold victories over them.  Now I am not one to want to spread rumors but I heard that Harley Race called you a coward in a recent radio interview because you would face him and Dusty in a three-way dance. Flair:  Is that so?  Well if he really wants, then he got it.  Tonight three men step into that ring and I walk out the true legend. Mean:  Well it seems that we have a new wrinkle to Slamboree as we will have a legends three way dance.  Lets see how Just Joe got a Cruiserweight title match. We see footage of the battle royal from Thunder for a shot at the Cruiserweight title.  We see Joe hurt early on and then we see him getting the upset win over Candido.  We then go to the ring. Just Joe pinned Tony Mamaluke with the Jumping DDT in 0:05:59. Rating: * 1/2 (Just Joe won the WCW Cruiserweight Title.) We have yet another new champion crowned as the upset kid Just Joe won the cruiserweight title.  Tony dominated the match and hit his Legdrop but refused to pin Joe.  Mamaluke went for a second legdrop but Joe moved.  Joe hit a low blow and then his Jumping DDT for the win.  Madden:  JOE WINS, JOE WINS, JOE WINS!!!  I don't believe it! Tenay:  Here comes Bill DeMott, Scott Taylor, Lash LeRoux and Jaime Knoble.  Here are more wrestlers, half the locker room is in the ring. Madden:  I don't believe it.  I can't believe that is our cruiserweight champion.  Tenay:  I understand someone else is arriving at the building. We see a car pull up and out steps Scott Steiner.  Steiner, like Sting, is wearing a neck brace.  Steiner strolls into the building. Madden:  The genetic freak is here, which isn't good news for William Regal.  Many 'wrestling insiders' didn't think Scotty or Sting would be today. Tenay:  Well there isn't anything that can keep Scott Steiner from a fight.  Lets go to Mean Gene. Mean:  I am here with a legend in the sport, The American Dream Dusty Rhodes.  Dusty, your match was changed moments ago to a three-way dance. Dusty:  Mean Gene it doesn't matter if it is Harley Race, Ric Flair, or both.  Tonight I prove I am a legend, if you will.  Tonight I prove that a fat guy from Texas can become a legend.  And tonight this match if for my sweet Sapphire may she rest in peace.  Mean:  Dusty Rhodes, much like Disqo earlier, seems to be fighting for more then just a win.  He is going out there for respect. No-Countout-No-DQ-3-Man Battle Royal: Dusty Rhodes won a 3-man Battle Royal:          x Race defeated Flair after the Piledriver in 0:09:50          x Dusty Rhodes defeated Race after the Bionic Elbowdrop in 0:13:28 Rating: ** This match was a throw back with some modern stuff involved.  Three men past their primes, but true legends battled for respect.  All three men were busted open and all three men held nothing back.  The match went to the floor where it really got wild.  Dusty Rhodes showing some of his Outlaw's viciousness busted both Flair and Race open with a stop sign.  Moments later Dusty was busted open by a headbutt from Harley Race.  Ric Flair was the first man eliminated when Harley Race hit his Piledriver.  The official, Charles Robinson, didn't want to count but Dusty forced him to.  Flair rolled to the floor where he watched the rest of the match.  Harley hit a Piledriver on Dusty but he someone kicked out.  Harley then went for a falling headbutt but Dusty moved.  Dusty hit the flip flop and fly followed by his Bionic Elbowdrop for the win.  Flair came into the ring and the two went nose to nose of a moment before embracing.  They helped Harley up and the three men embraced before Harley and Ric left Dusty in the ring to celebrate. Madden:  That is example of true respect.  That wasn't Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes and Harley Race in the ring after the match.  That was Richard Morton Fliehr, Virgil Riley Runnels Jr. and Harley Race the man showing the respect they truly have for each other. Tenay:  That was pure emotion in the ring.  Those three men gave us everything in their soul and left nothing inside.  I hope anyone out there that wants to be a wrestler was watching, because from an emotional stand point it doesn't get any better then that.  Lets go to the back. Mean:  Mike, you are right, it doesn't get any better.  I am standing here with the tag team champion Owen Hart and Lance Storm.  Tonight you face off with three other teams for those titles. Owen:  Do you think we care?  We have beat all three of those teams so now we do it in on match. Storm:  Gene, we are from Calgary---Alberta Canada.  We were born to wrestle and bred to win.  Tonight we prove why we are not only the best wrestlers in WCW, but also the best ever from Canada.  Owen:  My rotten older brother will learn that I am truly the King of Harts!   WHOO! Mean:  This will be a great match up next. Four Corners Match: The New Hart Foundation drew Danny Doring and Roadkill, Steve Blackman and Brian Christopher and The Hart Foundation:          x Christopher beat B. Hart via a full nelson faceslam in 0:11:31          x Blackman beat Doring via countout in 0:13:46          x double pin (L. Storm and Christopher) in 0:17:09 Rating: * (The New Hart Foundation retained the WCW Tag Team Titles.) This match showcased several of the top tag teams in WCW.  The champions stayed out of the ring and even went as far as to drop off the apron if someone tried to tag team.  The first elimination was a surprise when the Hart Foundation was defeated.  The Anvil missed a forearm when Blackman ducked and he hit Bret.  This knocked him into a full nelson faceslam from Brian and with the help of a handful of trunks Bret was pinned.  Bret and Jim argued as they went to the back.  The next team eliminated was Danny Doring and Roadkill.  Doring was counted out after Blackman hit him with his Kendo stick behind the officials back.  This left the champions, who were fresh except for a few seconds and the team of Blackman and Christopher.  The end was unusual.  Lance Storm went for a German Suplex but Christopher reversed it with a go behind and hit a German Suplex of his own.  Christopher hit it but was tired out from the rest of the match and both men had their shoulders counted down allowing The New Hart Foundation to retain their titles. Madden:  My Canadian brothers retain their titles. Tenay:  Mark, when are you going to give up on this whole Canadian crap?  Everyone knows you are from Pittsburgh.  Madden:  I was born there yes, but I am a Canadian citizen.   Tenay:  Whatever, lets go to the back were Mean Gene is with Sting. Mean:  Sting, not only were you piledrove off the ring through a table on Thunder you were then meet with a gore as you arrived at the arena. Sting:  All of these attacks just prove that Rhino is afraid of me.  Injured or not I will fight.  In pain or not I will fight.  Tonight Rhino I want you to remember one thing---IT'S SHO--- From behind Rhino attacked Sting.  Rhino picks Sting up and gives him a piledriver on the floor.  Mean:  GET SECURITY DAMN IT! Rhino then turns towards Gene and begins to stalk him. Tenay:  Someone get over there and help Mean Gene. Rhino continued to stalk Mean Gene until Bret Hart ran from a locker room and attacked Rhino.  The two men exchanged rights while Gene ran off.  Security finally arrived and separated the two men. Madden:  Well thank God for Bret Hart.  I don't care for Mean Gene, hell I hate him, but Rhino could kill him. Tenay:  I don't know what his problem is but it makes me sick.  Look at Sting, he is moving but he is hurt.  Madden:  The Rhino Sting match was suppose to be next, but we are going to give you the Anderson match first. Arn Anderson pinned C.W. Anderson with the Spinebuster in 0:10:56. Rating: ** 1/2 In the battle of the Anderson's Arn came out on top.  It was a hard fought battle and both men worked on the other man's arm in 'Anderson' style.  C.W. took the advantage of Arn with a superkick.  C.W. however missed a flying elbow which set up the Spinebuster and the win for Arn. Madden:  The Triple Threat falls once again.  What a horrible day for all the Triple Threat fans. Tenay:  Are there any of those out there? Madden:  You know Tenay, I wish your ass was kicked by Rhino and not Hudson. Tenay:  Speaking of Rhino, here comes the psycho now. Madden:  And here comes Sting.  My god, look at him.  He looks like he was hit by a car. Tenay:  He was basically, and that car was name Rhino! Rhino made Sting submit to the Rhino Recliner in 0:08:36. Rating: ** 1/4 This was a showcase for two things.  Rhino's skills and Sting's perseverance.  Rhino did everything he could think of to stop Sting, but he kept coming back.  Rhino gored Sting through a table but Sting kicked out somehow.  Sting made a come back and hit several Stinger Splashes in a row.  He went for a fourth and Rhino gored him out of mid air.  That was the beginning of the end as he locked in the Rhino Recliner and Sting passed out.  Rhino however wouldn't release the hold.  Official Randy Anderson tried to pull Rhino off but he got attacked for his problems.  Rhino slammed Anderson and pulled a table into the ring.  He then picked Anderson up and gored him through the table.  Rhino went back to Sting and was about to lock the Rhino Recliner in again when Bret Hart ran out from the back armed with a baseball bat.  Rhino quickly left the ring. Tenay:  Once again it was Bret Hart stopping Rhino.  Hopefully Bret Hart will be the man stop Rhino's reign of terror.  The man must be stopped.  If Ric Flair wasn't so damn blind to what is going on in the company. Madden:  I think the Nature Boss has been doing a great job.   Tenay:  I understand that Mean Gene has recovered from earlier and is with Jeff Jarrett, Gene are you ok? Mean:  Yeah I am fine Mike no thanks to that crazy man Rhino. Jarrett:  Hey Jurassic slapass, are you here to talk to me or not? Mean:  Ok Chosen One, how does it feel to know that you got beat by Spike Dudley in the middle of the ring? Jarrett:  You think you are some kind of damn comedian do you slapnut?  Don't piss me off old man or I will finish what Rhino started.  Tonight isn't about that retard Spike Dudley, it is about Curt Hennig.  Hennig, you have a big mouth and tonight I shut it.  Gene, tonight I play one of my greatest hits ever. Mean:  Whatever jackass, back to you Mike and that slob Mark Madden. Madden:  You bald old man, if I wasn't working I would slap the taste out of your damn mouth. Tenay:  Let's get to the ring before Madden here has a heart attack.  This could be the show stealer. Curt Hennig defeated Jeff Jarrett by countout in 0:11:23. Rating: *** 1/4 This match went back and forth. Both men are former Horsemen members and former US and WWF Intercontinental Champions.  Both men started off wrestling but it soon became a brawl.  Jeff hit the Stroke but Hennig got the ropes.  Hennig moments later hit the Hennig Plex but someone Jarrett kicked out. The match finally went to the floor.  Ric Flair then came out and pulled Jeff Jarrett off Hennig.  Jarrett and Flair argued while Hennig went back into the ring and got the win.  After the match Flair, Jarrett and Arn Anderson entered the ring and Hennig got ready for a fight. Flair:  Hold it Curt.  We don't want a fight, we want to talk.  Now Curt,  you are a great wrestler and we have had our problems in the past.  But tonight I came to you with a proposal.  Being the boss is a hard and you have to have friends to watch your back.  There is a symbol of excellence that hasn't been used in a while.  Flair holds up four fingers. Flair:  How about the Horsemen ride just one more time?  The Enforcer, the Nature Boy, the Chosen One, and the Perfect One.  What do you say? Hennig:  What can I say?  That would be absolutely PERFECT! Flair:  WHOO!! The four men shake hands as they go to the back. Madden:  The Horsemen ride again.  This is the greatest day in WCW History I think.  Tenay:  I think I know the reason Flair got the band back together if you will.  It is because whoever this new power making matches and decisions has Flair worried.  Madden:  That might be, but with the Horsemen back in action things will really pick up around here.  And speaking of picking up it's time for our semi-main event.   He comes the British Heavyweight Champion now, William Regal. Regal:  Hello all my American friends.  It is I, your good will ambassador William Regal.  Tonight I defend my British Heavyweight title against a beastly American by the name of Scott Steiner.  I felt that my personal safety was threatened in this match so I went out and got myself a bodyguard.  I give you the Big Show! Paul Wight comes out. Regal:  So Scott Steiner, sunshine, get your bloody bum out here. Steiner charges the ring and the match is on. Scott Steiner pinned William Regal after hitting him with a foreign object in 0:06:38. Rating: * 1/4 (Scott Steiner won the WCW United States Title.) Another title changed hands here at Slamboree.  Scott Steiner however did get some help from William's bodyguard.  Early on Regal took charge by working on Steiner's injured neck.  He locked in the Regal Stretch but Steiner fought out.  Steiner was about to lock in the Steiner Recliner but Paul Wight distracted him.  Wight tried to hit Steiner with is lead pipe but missed and Steiner knocked Wight off the apron causing him to throw the pipe.  Regal picked up the pipe while the ref checked on Wight.  He swung but missed and Steiner grabbed the pipe.  Steiner knocked Regal in the stomach and then the back and made the cover and got the win.  After Steiner left The Big Show came into the ring and helped Regal to his feet. Regal:  You miserable little toe rag.  You bumbling buffoon.  Can't you do anything right.  I should give you five across the eyes for being such a worthless waste of space.  As a matter of fact--- Regal backhands the Big Show.  Show then grabs Regal by the throat and gives him the Showstopper before leaving him knocked out in the ring. Madden:  The genetic freak is the US Champion which is bad news for the winner of the next match.  Steiner is now the number one contender. Tenay:  I think Spike Dudley, Rhino and several others would argue.  Let's go to the back where Mean Gene is with the world champion. Mean:  Booker T, in just a few seconds you will face a monster in Big Van Vader. Booker:  Gene, tonight will be my toughest challenge yet.  I know that Vader is like a one man army but with all those people behind me I know I will keep this title.  Mean:  Not that I expect you to be looking past a man the size and level of Vader, but who do you see as your next challenger? Booker:  I don't care who it is Gene.  Scott Steiner, Spike Dudley, William Regal or anyone else.  And Gene, don't hate the player---HATE THE GAME!! Mean:  Up next the world title match. Booker T pinned Big Van Vader after a scissor kick in 0:15:41. Rating: *** (Booker T retained the WCW World Title.) This match was a hard hitting affair.  Vader busted Booker T open early and then he became a shark that smelt blood.  There was no stopping Vader.  Booker several times would knock Vader from the ring or hit a big move like his missile dropkick or spinebuster only to have Vader back on him in mere moments.  The end came when Vader attempted his Moonsault but Booker moved.  Booker hit the Book End but Vader was getting up before Booker could cover him.  Booker then hit a low blow and hit the scissor kick.  Booker made the cover and got the win.  Madden:  Booker keeps his time once again.  He could be the most dominant world champion we have had in some time. Tenay:  What a night.  A new US, TV, Hardcore and cruiserweight champion.  Kanyon takes off the mask and Mortis is no more.  Rhino runs amuck and the Horsemen return to WCW.  For Mark Madden and Mean Gene, I am Mike Tenay, see you at Nitro.
