The Underdog is someone at a disadvantage and expected to lose.  The champion, clearly superior and has all the attributes of a winner.  Tonight those two words could have new meaning as the underdog tries to take out the champion at the Great American Bash! Fireworks blast as we go to the announce table where Mark Madden, Scott Hudson and Gene Bennett all sit.  Hudson:  WELCOME TO THE GREAT AMERICAN BASH!!  TWELVE HUGE MATCHES TAKE PLACE TONIGHT! Bennett:  Spike Dudley will take on Booker T, the question on my mind and probably others is who was that masked man on Thunder? Madden:  Well Tanto, it was non-other then the person who put the mask on. Hudson:  Well that cleared things right up Mark.  Bret Hart will be joined by his partner Jim Neidhart to take on Rhino.  Will this be the end of the Rhino hunt or will the hunted take out the hunter? Bennett:  Well personally I hope Bret locks in the Sharpshooter and doesn't let go until Rhino's back snaps but that probably won't happen.  But Bret will come out on top.  Madden:  With the Horsemen backing the Man Beast no one stops him. Bennett:  Speaking of the Horsemen they are arriving at the building now. We see a limo pull up and out comes the Horsemen, Rhino and William Regal. Flair:  WHOO!  Tonight is the night guys.  Tonight the Horsemen take over.  Arn, I want you get that TV title, and I have some insurance for you.  William, I know you don't need any help taking out that one hipped jackass Piper so don't worry about it.  Plus the Perfect Team takes those tag team titles.  Tonight is the night.  And we all know what is going to happen to Vader!  WHOO! Bennett:  Well it looks like our CEO will try and screw Vader out of his match. Madden:  Mr. Flair will come down here and kick your ass again if you keep it up Gene.  Bennett:  I might kick your fat ass right now Madden.  I have already had enough of your shi--- Hudson:  Let's go to our first match, Vampiro and The Big Show. Paul Wight pinned Vampiro with the Showstopper in 0:06:43. Rating: * Vampiro seemed too confident during the match and we soon found out why.  Early on Wight hit a huge powerbomb when the lights suddenly went out.  'DEAD MAN WALKING' played followed 'Rolling' as the Undertaker came out on his bike.  A tired Vampiro pulled himself up thinking this was his savior, but it wasn't.  The Dead Man grabbed Vamp by the throat and gave him a huge chokeslam.  Wight then hit his version, the Showstopper for the win.  After the match Vamp took a double chokeslam before the two monsters left the ring. Hudson:  What in the hell was all that?  I thought Vamp and the Undertaker were on the same side. Bennett:  The only person on The Undertaker's side is himself. He is a sick man. Madden:  Say that to his face Bennett, you chicken. Bennett:  Keep it up Mark. Hudson:  Let's go to Terry Taylor who is with Ray Traylor. Taylor:  Ray, tonight you have a chance to become the number one contender to the Hardcore Title.  Traylor:  You mean MY title boy.  I am the most Hardcore wrestling in WCW if not the world.  Douglas couldn't beat me without help and after I take out that fat ass Bill DeMott, that Sgt. Carter look alike Steve Blackman and that Dracula want to be Gangrel I will be coming after you Douglas.  And you will find out what HARD TIME IS ALL ABOUT! Taylor:  Up next, Four the Hardway! No-Countout-No-DQ-4-Man Battle Royal: Steve Blackman won a 4-man Battle Royal:          x Gangrel defeated Traylor after the Impaler in 0:06:36          x Blackman defeated Gangrel after an achilles tendon hold in 0:09:56          x Blackman defeated DeMott after the Pump Kick in 0:10:09 Rating: ** Steve Blackman became the number one contender to the Hardcore title by out last the other three men.  The first elimination was Ray Traylor after the other three men focused on him.  Steve Blackman gave him a kendo stick shot which set up the Impaler from Gangrel for the win.  A few minutes later Gangrel was forced to tap out to an ankle lock like achilles tendon hold.  DeMott was waiting on Blackman and tried to hit his No Laughing Matter but Blackman moved.  He then hit the Pump Kick for the win. Hudson:  Looks like tomorrow night it will be Steve Blackman and the Hardcore champion either Shane Douglas or Kanyon. Madden:  Speaking of Kanyon. Kanyon comes through the crowd and attacks Blackman.  He nails him with the Kanyon Cutter, places a Mortis mask on his chest and runs off. Bennett:  What was that all about?  That man needs help bad. Hudson:  That is for sure.  I understand that Mike Tenay is with the Big Show and the Undertaker. Tenay:  Thanks guys.  Undertaker, for several weeks Vampiro was talking about this return.  We all assumed that you would be joining him and re-creating the Ministry. UT:  Tenay, when you assume you make an ass out of you and me and I don't like being made an ass.  Vampiro assumed and look at him now.  The Ministry failed because they wouldn't listen to me.  Well I found a man that will listen to me right here.  It will be ARMEGGEDON FOR WCW! Tenay:  It looks like business just picked up a bit, back to you Scott. Hudson:  That does look like a problem.  Can you imagine them as a tag team! Madden:  I don't even know if the Horsemen or the New Hart Foundation could withstand that.  Hudson:  Our next match is actually a two match series.  The first is a cruiserweight battle royal with the winner getting a shot at Just Joe following the match.  Chris Candido, Tony Mamaluke, Brian Christopher, Jaime Knoble, Lash LeRoux and Scott Taylor are the men fighting for a shot at Just Joe.  Let's go to the ring. No-Countout-No-DQ-6-Man Battle Royal: Jaime Knoble won a 6-man Battle Royal:          x Taylor threw out LeRoux after a power bomb in 0:01:25          x Candido threw out Christopher after a bulldog in 0:06:30          x Taylor threw out Candido in 0:07:50          x Knoble threw out Mamaluke in 0:12:22          x Knoble threw out Taylor in 0:13:22 Rating: *** 1/4 Lash and Taylor came out together but they were soon going at it just like the rest of the men.  Taylor hit a sitout powerbomb and tossed LeRoux to the floor for our first elimination.  Next Brian Christopher flew to the floor after he was distracted by Tammy.  On the floor Brian went after Tammy which distracted Candido allowing Taylor to toss him to the floor.  This left all former champions in the ring.  Knoble and Taylor teamed up and got rid of Mamaluke and Knoble threw out Taylor moments later for the shot at Joe. Jaime Knoble pinned Just Joe after a vertical facebuster in 0:03:58. Rating: * (Jaime Knoble won the WCW Cruiserweight Title.) Jaime Knoble became a two time cruiserweight champion as he took care of Just Joe in short order.  Joe hit the ring and meet with a dropkick and everyone knew Joe's title reign was over.  Knoble quickly hit a vertical facebuster and got the win and the title.  Hudson:  Joe's winning streak just came to an end. Bennett:  Knoble looked great tonight much like he did a few months ago.  He could become a very dominate champion. Madden:  Not with Chris Candido around he won't.  That title would have been his had Brian Christopher not distracted him. Hudson:  Well that is your thoughts.  But his Triple Threat mate is up next as Shane Douglas defends his Hardcore title against Kanyon. No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match: Shane Douglas pinned Kanyon after a Hotshot in 0:06:49. Rating: *** 1/4 (Shane Douglas retained the WCW Hardcore Title.) This match started in the back and stayed in the back.  Early on Kanyon had the upper hand using trash cans and cookie sheets as weapons.  Douglas came back when he countered the Kanyon Cutter by shoving Kanyon threw a box office window.  Douglas then took over with a series of shots from a chair and then he broke a  2 x 4 over Kanyon's back.  Kanyon was able to recover with a low blow and toss Douglas into a coke machine.  Kanyon signaled for the Kanyon Cutter but was blindsided by a kendo stick from Steve Blackman.  This allowed Douglas to hotshot Kanyon onto a car and get the win.  Douglas stumbled to his feet only to take a shot from Blackman with the kendo stick before he left. Madden:  That was my car Kanyon just dented. Bennett:  That's too bad Mark, really it is. Hudson:  That is what you get for parking in the building, you too damn fat to walk like the rest of us. Madden:  Don't you start too Baldie.  No one would even watch WCW if it wasn't for me. Bennett:  Yeah you bring in the fat 18-34 GAY group. Madden:  That was original, try not to steal all your material. Hudson:  Let's go to the back where Mike Tenay is with C.W. Anderson and Chris Candido. Tenay:  C.W., in just a few minutes you will take on Little Guido Maritato.  This has come about because of your run ins.  You both have been and tried to attack Chris Kanyon, and ended up hitting each other setting up this match. C.W.:  Mike, I am an ANDERSON and I don't back down from anyone.  If Guido wants to face the Enforcer that is fine with me.  Tonight he finds out what it is like to be in the ring with an ANDERSON! Tenay:  One more question, why is Chris Candido with you? C.W.:  Well the Triple Threat is a team and we know that Guido will bring that little punk Tony Mamaluke and probably that fat ass Big Sal so Chris is here just to watch my back. Tenay:  Up next, Guido and Anderson. Little Guido Maritato pinned C.W. Anderson with the Kiss of Death in 0:03:25. Rating: ** 3/4 Little Guido made short work out of C.W. in this match.  C.W. missed a superkick, was then dropkicked in the knee setting up the Kiss of Death and the win. Bennett:  That was a quick match.  A big win for Guido here at the Great American Bash.  Madden:  This wasn't a great night for the Triple Threat but they will recover and regroup. Hudson:  For once would you be unbiased?  We are announcers not managers or fans right now. Madden:  I am whatever I want.  And if you don't back off I will tell the CEO what you have been saying about him. Bennett:  Mark, this is the last time I am going to warn you.  Shut your damn mouth about our CEO or I am going to shut it. Hudson:  I understand that Terry Taylor is with Disqo. Madden:  Shut my mouth will you, you are barking up the wrong tree. Taylor:  Disqo, in just a few minutes you will be facing the Enforcer and former multiple time TV Champion Arn Anderson. Disqo:  Well the Re-Enforcer doesn't mind one bit Terry.  I have taken out Horsemen in the past and will do the same here tonight.  It used to be about getting respect and now it is about keeping it.  Might go out there and dance but when the bell rings I am all business and you will find out what Double G, The Re-Enforcer is all about tonight Arn. Taylor:  The TV Title match is up next. Disqo pinned Arn Anderson with the Last Dance in 0:07:26. Rating: ** (Disqo retained the WCW TV Title.) Disqo picked up a big win over Double A in this match.  When Disqo won the title people expected him to drop it fast but has kept it against all odds.  Arn really dominated Disqo.  The end came when Disqo floated over a spinebuster attempt and hit the Last Dance for the win.  Madden:  I can't believe Disqo continues it win.  It makes me sick that a born loser would hold a WCW title. Bennett:  Well he wasn't a born loser first off Mark.  Second off Disqo is one hell of a wrestler.  He could be looking at moving on to the US title should he lose this title. Hudson:  I agree.  Disqo has been grossly underrated and is finally getting the chance to shine. Madden:  Up next William Regal and Roddy Piper in a English Street Fight.  Finally someone will shut Roddy Piper's mouth up. Bennett:  Great, here comes Regal----and he has a mic, damn. Regal:  Hello all my American friends, it is I Lord William Regal.  Tonight I get to get what you American's call 'hardcore'.  It is an honor that Mr. Flair has picked me to finish this hooligan's career.  Now bring him out here so I can kick his bum. No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match: William Regal pinned Roddy Piper with the Cobra Neckbreaker in 0:08:16. Rating: ** 1/4 William Regal got a win here with help from the Man Beast Rhino.  Rhino came to ringside early on and Piper was quickly distracted.  Regal took over and never really looked back.  Piper did make a comeback and even locked Rhino in the Sleeper hold.  This allowed Regal to recover and hit his Cobra Neckbreaker for the win.  Regal and Rhino continued the attack until The Hart Foundation made the save. Hudson:  Let's go to the back where Mike Tenay is with both Sting and Scott Steiner. Tenay:  Sting, Scott Steiner, tonight you face off for the US Title.  Is there any personal feelings in this match? Steiner:  Tenay, the Big Bad Booty Daddy doesn't give a damn about Sting or you for that matter.  All I care about are my freaks.  Sting:  Well Mike, I don't have a personal feelings for Steiner either.  Tonight is just another wrestling match where I take the US title. Steiner:  Hold it right there.  This title gets me my freaks and I won't be letting it go without a fight. Sting:  That is good, because when we get to the ring---IT'S SHOWTIME!! Tenay:  Up next, the US Title Match. Sting pinned Scott Steiner with the Scorpion Death Drop in 0:12:38. Rating: ** 1/2 (Sting won the WCW United States Title.) A new US Champion was crowned in what might have been on of Sting's better matches in a while.  This was a back and forth match with both men hitting signature moves.  Sting went for his Stinger Splash but was caught and tossed to the floor.  Steiner then was able to lock in the Steiner Recliner but somehow Sting fought out.  Moments later Steiner was going for what looked to be the Steiner Screwdriver, but Sting slipped out and hit the Scorpion Death Drop for the win.  Booker T ran out and congratulated Sting and they both helped Scott Steiner up.  The three raised each other's hands. Bennett:  We have a new champion but there are three people who have respect for each other.  That could be a very powerful force here in WCW. Madden:  I just don't understand why Scott Steiner would hang out with those losers.  He is the Big Bad Booty Daddy.  Hudson:  It is something you know nothing about, respect Mark.  They have respect for each other and the fans.  "He's the AMERICAN Dream" plays as The commissioner Dusty Rhodes comes to the ring. Madden:  What does that fat ass what? Hudson:  That is like the pot calling the kettle black. Madden:  You used that already Baldie. Dusty:  Hello everyone, I hope you are all enjoying the Great American Bash.  Our next match evolved our CEO Ric Flair taking on the Mastodon Big Van Vader.  Now I heard Mr. Flair's comments early about what Vader will get.  Well I am making the ruling that if ANYONE interferes in this match they are FIRED on the spot.  Thank you and enjoy the rest of the show. The Horsemen music plays as Ric Flair comes out. Flair:  HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!  Now I want to know who gave you this power.  WHO IS IT DAMN IT! Dusty:  He or she will revile him or herself soon enough.  Now come on down to this ring for your match. Flair and Rhodes pass on the ramp and they exchange words.  Moments later Vader hits the ring for our next match.  Big Van Vader pinned Ric Flair with the Vader Bomb in 0:06:17. Rating: ** 3/4 Vader won this match up with a powerbomb followed by his Vader Bomb.  The match was really competitive.  It want back and forth before Vader hit a huge Vader attack setting up the finishing moves.  Bennett:  THE CEO GOES DOWN!  LOOK AT YOUR WATCH MADDEN!  IT IS VADE---- From the crowd Jeff Jarrett hits Gene with a guitar.  Madden and Hudson both scramble for safety as Jarrett picks up the headset.  Jarrett:  That's from the BOSS you slapass. We then go to the back where Mike Tenay is with Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart. Tenay:  That is enough to make a man sick.   Hart:  The Horsemen have got theirs tonight.  And while I hate both Lance Storm and Owen, I hope they beat the other Horsemen so they go 0 and 3 tonight. Tenay:  On to your match with the Man Beast Rhino.  You have said you are on a Rhino hunt, does that end tonight?  Hart:  One way or another it does.  Either I get a Rhino horn to put on my wall or he gets Hart for dinner. Neidhart:  Rhino better just want himself because tonight he will fall to a Hart Attack---AHAHAHAHAHA! Tenay:  This match should be a classic. Rhino made Bret Hart submit to the Rhino Recliner in 0:15:12. Rating: **** 1/4 Tenay was right and the match was could be match of the year quality.  Both men worked harder then either had in a long time.  As Bret was coming out Rhino gored him and they both feel to the ground knocked out.  Moments later Bret recovered and took off his jacket to revile a metal plate around his ribs.  It seems that Rhino isn't much smarter then Goldberg.  Jim and Bret drug Rhino to the ring and the match began.  Bret went for the cover and got a near fall.  Bret then hit his patented elbow from the second rope and got another near fall.  Bret went for a piledriver but Rhino countered into a backdrop driver knocking the wind out of Hart.  Rhino then was able to take over with a powerslam followed by a powerbomb.  Rhino planted Hart with a spinebuster and set up for the gore.  Hart saw it coming and dodged it causing Mickey Jay to get gored.  Rhino turned into a double leg take down and Hart locked in the Sharpshooter.  The official was down and wasn't moving.  Jim Neidhart grabbed a chair and entered the ring only to blast Bret in the back of the head.  Neidhart then hit Hart in the back several times before leaving the ring.  Rhino recovered and locked in the Rhino Recliner.  Mickey Jay finally recovers and checks Hart's arm.  It falls three times and Rhino is declared the win.  Madden:  The hunter just fell to the hunted.  This is great.  That might shut Bret's damn mouth.  Hudson:  Folks we are sorry for not giving the best play by play for that past match, it was chaos out here at the booth right before that match.  You see there is blood from Gene on our formats and Gene is getting stitched up right now.  Bret Hart falls to Rhino, Gene goes down to the Horsemen.  It isn't looking good. Madden:  Good?  It is looking great.  Up next will be the best match of the night as the two greatest teams ever face off for the tag titles. Hudson:  Bret isn't moving.  Here comes trainer Mike Martin, lets hope he can do something.  Martin checks on Hart when Rhino comes running back out.  Rhino gores the hell out of the small Martin.  Martin looks like a rag doll against Rhino.  Rhino comes out and pulls a table over and sets up near ringside.  He pulls Martin to the apron and piledrives him through the table.  Hudson:  MIKE IS DEAD!  MY GOD SOMEONE STOP THIS MONSTER! Madden:  That was one of the most awesome things I have ever seen.   Hudson:  A broadcaster and a trainer have both been put down at the hands of the Horsemen and their friends.  That group makes me sick. Madden:  Let's go to Terry Taylor who is with the Tag Team Champions. Taylor:  Owen, was that your hand work? Owen:  What? Taylor:  Jim Neidhart turning on your brother, you know damn well what I am talking about.  Owen:  I haven't talked to Jim for months.  Bret is a thing of the past.  I don't need him or my stupid family.  All I need is my partner here. Storm:  Terry, we are Canadian.  We are the best the world have to offer.  Tonight we prove it by taking out two jokes. Owen:  The Horsemen were dead years ago, they just don't know it.   I revived Jarrett's career in the WWF and tonight I end it in WCW!  WHOO! Taylor:  Up next our semi-main event. The New Hart Foundation defeated Jeff Jarrett and Curt Hennig when O. Hart made Curt Hennig submit to the Sharpshooter in 0:12:17. Rating: *** 1/4 (The New Hart Foundation retained the WCW Tag Team Titles.) The New Hart Foundation got the win with the help from Jim Neidhart.  Despite what Owen said earlier he must have known something because not a minute into the match Jim appeared at ringside.  The Horsemen and the New Hart Foundation had a great match and it seemed that maybe Jeff and Curt would pull it off when Neidhart interfered.  Jarrett was about to paste Owen with the guitar when Neidhart pulled Jeff off the apron.  Neidhart and Jarrett brawled on the floor.  Meanwhile Hennig let go of Owen and was reaching through the ropes attacking Neidhart.  Owen grabbed the guitar that Jarrett dropped in the ring and hit Hennig in the back with it.  Owen locked in the Sharpshooter and got the win.  From the back out came Bret with a chair and chased the champs and their new partner Jim Neidhart off.  Hart then hit both Horsemen with the chair before return to the back. Madden:  The champs retain in a great match. Hudson:  All of those men make me sick.  To be honest there isn't much in this whole damn fed that doesn't any more. Madden:  Quit then.  No one really cares for you anyways.  It is 'The Best Looking Big Man On TV' Mark Madden they tune in for.  Hudson:  Shut your fat mouth Mark, just shut the hell up.  Let's go to Mike. Hudson throws his headset as we go to Mike Tenay with Spike Dudley.   Tenay:  Spike Dudley, tonight may be you biggest match ever.  Tonight you could become the WCW Champion.  You scored a tainted victory over Booker T on Thunder. Spike:  Hold it right there Tenay.  How was that tainted?   Tenay:  That masked man attacked Booker allowing you to get the win. Spike:  I didn't have anything to do with that.   Tenay:  You might not have but it helped you.   Spike:  I don't have to sit here and be insulted by you.  I am a Dudley damn it, and tonight I start acting like one. Tenay:  Spike looks ready, lets go to Terry Taylor who is with Booker T. Taylor:  Thanks Mike.  Booker, do you look for this masked man to be back tonight? Booker:  Of course I do Terry.  Whoever it is Spike knows.  He knows that he can't beat me so he has gone and got help somewhere.  Taylor:  Then how will you combat this threat? Booker:  These men right here Terry. Sting and Scott Steiner walk in. Booker:  We are tired of being jerked around.  We have stayed with WCW through thick and thin and will not be pushed around by some bunch of rejects.  Tonight Spike, DON'T HATE THE PLAYER HATE THE GAME!! Spike Dudley pinned Booker T with the Acid Drop in 0:17:20. Rating: **** 1/4 (Spike Dudley won the WCW World Title.) Spike Dudley won the title but it was without help.  The match started off like a usual match with Booker T and Spike going back and forth.  Booker finally started to take control when Spike missed a flying clothesline.  Booker took over with a spinebuster, missile dropkick and an axe kick.  Spike came back when Booker went for the Harlem Side Kick and Spike ducked and hit a low blow.  Spike went for the Acid Drop but was thrown over the top rope by Booker.  Spike however landed on Sting and gave him a flying head scissors.  Steiner charged but Spike ducked, kicked him low, and gave him an Acid Drop running up the ring post.  Spike then hit the ring and went for the Acid Drop a second time on Booker but he threw him off into the ring this time.  He went for a second Harlem Side Kick but Spike ducked again and Booker hit the official Charles Robinson.  This brought out two masked men.  The attacked Booker while Spike looked on.  The masked men laid a beating in on Booker before Steiner and Sting recovered and hit the ring.  The attacked the men.  Sting sent one in the corner and hit the Stinger Splash while Steiner gave the other a huge belly to belly.  Steiner and Sting took the masks off reviling none other the Buh Buh Ray and D-Von the Dudley Boys.  Sting and Steiner were shocked and this allowed the Dudley's to recover.  D-Von hit Sting low and tossed him the floor.  Buh Buh punched Steiner in the gut and hit the Buh Buh Cutter.  They then signaled for the 3D.  Moments later Steiner received the 3D.  Sting came in and suffered the same fate.  Spike by now had recovered and went over to his brothers.  He spun the around.  They looked at each other for a few second before embracing.  The Dudley's gave Booker the WASSUP Headbutt followed by the 3D.  They then went to the floor.  Spike revived the ref by throwing water on him.  He gave Booker the Acid Drop and put one foot on his chest for the win.  After the match the Dudley brought in a table and put Booker through it.  Hudson:  THE DUDLEYS ARE IN WCW!! Madden:  WHAT A NIGHT! Hudson:  For Gene Bennett, Mike Tenay, Mark Madden and Terry Taylor, I am Scott Hudson.  See you on NITRO!!
