Nitro comes on the air with footage of Rhino destroying Ric Flair.  We then go to the back where Gene Bennett is with Trainer Michael Martin. Bennett:  Mike, can you give us some info on Ric Flair? Martin:  Well Gene, it isn't good news.  First off we believe that this injury took place during Rhino's attack in the back, that injury being several broken ribs.  He then sustained a neck injury.  Much like Arn Anderson it is believed to be a pinched nerve.  Ric will be out for several weeks with the broken ribs.  We are not sure how long with the neck injury. Bennett:  Mike, how about a quick report on Arn. Martin:  Arn's neck injury happened a few weeks before Massacre on 34th Street.  He worked through it and is now recovering.  He might return as early as next Monday. Bennett:  Thanks for that report Mike.  Let's get to the ring for our opening match where Too Cool is facing the team of Ray Traylor and Steve Blackman. Too Cool came up with a big win over two former Hardcore Champions.  It was a short match as Scotty surprised Ray with the Worm and got the win. Too Cool defeated Ray Traylor and Steve Blackman when Taylor pinned Traylor with the Worm in 0:03:13. Rating: * 1/4 Hudson:  Welcome to Nitro everyone! Cyrus:  Scott the question is what WCW superstar falls tonight?  Ric Flair and Arn Anderson are both out who is next? Hudson:  They have been down before but they always come back.  But lets not talk about that, lets talk about what we have.  Tonight Sting faces Chris Candido for US title.  Also Balls Mahoney takes on William Regal for the TV Title. Cyrus:  Also The Jersey Boys take on Danny Doring and Roadkill.  Lance Storm takes on Jeff Jarrett for the World Title.  We have a battle of cruiserweights as Lash LeRoux returns to singles action again Tony Mamaluke. Hudson:  Don't forget our big match up as Paul Wight and The Undertaker take on The Dudley's in a table match.  That will be huge.  We then go to the back where we see Booker T arriving.  He comes around the corner and runs into Disqo.  Booker:  Hey Disqo. Disqo:  What is that suppose to me?  Don't you respect me? Booker:  I was just saying----- Disqo:  Save it Booker.  I don't need your fake respect.  How about I just earn your damn respect in the ring. Disqo storms off as Booker shakes head and continues into the building. After the break we see Tony Mamaluke taking on Lash LeRoux.  Lash showed some ring rust during the match and the former cruiserweight champion took advantage.  He hit a springboard DDT followed by the Guillotine Legdrop for the win. Tony Mamaluke pinned Lash LeRoux with the Guillotine Legdrop in 0:03:02. Rating: * Cyrus:  A big win for ECW.  If ECW didn't already have the cruiserweight champion Tony would be right up there for a title shot. Hudson:  Cyrus, Lance Storm isn't in ECW or WCW.   Cyrus:  Yeah that is what he says but his true colors will come out soon enough.  After the break we will see more WCW verse WCW as Booker T takes on Disqo. Booker T got the win over Disqo but it was hard fought.  These two know each other very well from past years when they feuded over the TV title.  However both have advanced and it showed.  Several times Disqo would hit a move and begin to dance when he would realize that he should have made the cover.  Disqo went for the Last Dance but Booker countered by shoving Disqo into the ropes.  Booker then hit a Harlem Sidekick.  He followed that up with the Axe Kick and the Book End for the win. Booker T pinned Disqo with the Book End in 0:08:28. Rating: ** 1/2 Cyrus:  I have to say the dancing fool really showed that he has some fight in him. Hudson:  Well you don't get into WCW or ECW without being a great wrestler and athlete.  Cyrus:  Speaking of great athletes lets go to the back where Mike Tenay is with Chris Candido. Tenay:  Chris, tonight you have a---- Suddenly Gene Bennett comes into the shot and grabs the mic. Bennett:  Get out of my way Tenay.  Chris, what in the hell makes you think you can beat Sting?  I mean a midlevel guy like you. Candido:  What is your problem with me?  Is it because I can get a woman like Tammy yourself?  Gene just watch as I take out everyone's hero Sting. Tammy blows a kiss to Gene and the slaps him before we go to break. Sting retained his title in a wild match.  During the match Tammy tried several times to interfere but Sting wouldn't fall for it.  However she did trip him letting Candido take over.  Candido went for his Flying Headbutt but Sting moved.  Sting hit a Stinger Splash and locked in the Scorpion Death Lock.  Tammy jumped up on the apron distracting official Billy Silverman.  From the back Gene runs out and pulls Tammy off.  He then throws her over his shoulder.  Candido tries to yell for Gene to stop but Sting hits the Scorpion Death Drop for the win.  Gene is laughing from the ramp with Tammy over his shoulder.  He turns around right into a superkick from C.W. Anderson.  C.W. then helps Tammy to the back. Sting pinned Chris Candido with the Scorpion Death Drop in 0:08:35. Rating: ** 1/2 (Sting retained the United States Title.) Cyrus:  YES!  Did you see Gene's head bounce off the ramp from the superkick.  He didn't even see it coming. Hudson:  Well for once I have to agree that Gene had it coming for being at ringside however I think Gene is doing the right thing trying to keep that----lady Tammy.  Cyrus:  When we come back it will be Balls Mahoney winning the TV title I mean challenging for the TV title. Regal retained his TV title as he beat the Hardcore Chair Swinging Freak Balls Mahoney.  Balls used his size and strength to keep Regal down early on.  Balls went for the Nutcracker Suite but Regal countered into his Cobra Neckbreaker.  Regal then locked in the Regal Stretch for the win. William Regal made Balls Mahoney submit to the Regal Stretch in 0:06:03. Rating: *** 1/4 (William Regal retained the TV Title.) Hudson:  William retains the TV title against a very tough Balls. Cyrus:  Scott, taking nothing away from William Regal, but he is going to be a short lived champion. Hudson:  We will see about that.  Wait a second, our cameras have picked something up going on in the back. In the back we see Curt Hennig talking to Disqo. Hennig:  Great showing out there kid. Disqo:  Great showing?  I didn't earn any damn respect. Hennig:  Listen Disqo, when I started I didn't get any either.  You have to just keep going. Spike Dudley walks by and starts to laugh. Spike:  What makes you think that a fool like Disqo will ever be respect?  For that matter what makes you think anyone respects you Curt? Hennig:  Spike, are you talking to me?  Listen Spike I am tired of you ECW guys bad mouthing everyone.  If you are so tough how about we do it in the ring tonight. Spike:  You got it.  Tonight the perfect one goes down! We go to break Disqo and Hennig talking again. After the break we see the Jersey Boys taking on Doring and Roadkill.  This match saw great teamwork by both teams.  However the Jersey Boys again ended up having some miscommunication.  Kanyon and Page tried to whip Doring and Roadkill into each other but Doring reversed and Roadkill nearly took Kanyon's head off with a lariat.  Page charged but Roadkill ducked and Doring kicked Page in the gut followed by the Wham Bam Thank You Mame Double Arm DDT.  Roadkill then hit the Amish Splash for the win. Danny Doring and Roadkill defeated The Jersey Boys when Roadkill pinned Page with the Amish Splash in 0:06:27. Rating: ** Cyrus:  Looks like more trouble in the WCW camp Scott. Hudson:  Well they just had some miscommunication Cyrus.  That doesn't make it trouble. Cyrus:  Well when we come back Spike Dudley will take care of another WCW guy in Curt Hennig. We go to the back where the Commish Dusty Rhodes is talking to Rhino. Rhodes:  Rhino, you like that Hardcore Title don't you? Rhino:  Oh yeah. Rhodes:  You like that World Title don't you? Rhino:  Oh yeah. Rhodes:  Well that title isn't yours but I think I know how to get it for you.  At Fall Brawl, on September 30th, you are going to take on Jeff Jarrett inside the Triple Cage.  Suddenly the lights go out.  When them come back up Vampiro is sitting on top of the lockers. Vampiro:  Rhino, you think you are something big don't you?  You think you are an animal.  Well I am the angel of darkness and I know all about hardcore.  Tonight Rhino I want you in the ring.  Tonight I want that Hardcore title. The lights again go out.  When they come up both Rhodes and Rhino are covered in a blood like substance. Rhodes:  Tonight Rhino you are going to finish Vampiro off once and for all! We then go to break. After the break Hennig and Spike went at it.  During the match Disqo came to ringside.  Spike hit several big moves and was going for the Acid Drop when Disqo pulled his leg off the turnbuckle as he ran up them.  Spike kicked at Disqo.  He then turned right into the Hennig Plex. Curt Hennig pinned Spike Dudley with the Hennig Plex in 0:05:08. Rating: * 1/4 Hudson:  That might be Curt's biggest win to date here in WCW.  That is the former WCW Champion! Cyrus:  Nothing but luck and help from that fool Disqo.  Both will pay for that, I promise you that Scott.  But I promise you that we are in for a huge surprise in the next match. The Dudley's got a win in the tables match after Paul Wight turned on the Undertaker.  Throughout the match Taker kept yelling at Wight.  Wight and Taker tossed D-Von to the floor and set up Buh Buh for a double chokeslam.  However Taker told Wight to let him do it.  Wight let go only to grab Taker and plants him through the table.  Wight goes to leave but Buh Buh knocks him off the apron through a table at ringside to get the win. The Dudley Boys defeated Paul Wight and The Undertaker in a Table Match in 0:10:18. Rating: ** Hudson:  Cyrus, did you know that was going to happen? Cyrus:  Well lets just say that the Big Show has finally come to the big show of ECW! Hudson:  Let's go to the back where Terry Taylor is with the Cruiserweight Champion Lance Storm. Taylor:  Lance, tonight you get a big chance to become to the World Champion. Storm:  This is my destiny Terry.  I was born to wrestle and bred to win.  I will follow in the footsteps of Bret Hart and become the World Champion.  Unlike Bret though I will be respectful.  Tonight I become the greatest Canadian athlete ever. Taylor:  Coming up next the World Championship is on the line. Lance Storm was one second away from becoming the heavyweight champion when his former partner Owen Hart hit the ring.  Lance and Jeff had a great back and forth match.  Several times Jarrett came close to getting the win with roll ups and moves like dropkicks.  Lance came back with a superkick followed by a springboard dropkick for a near fall.  Storm went for the Maple Leaf but Jarrett kicked him off.  Jarrett then went for a monkey flip but Storm flipped over.  Jarrett went for a backdrop but Storm kicked him in the face and hit a Northern Lights Suplex.  As Lance hit the move Owen Hart ran from the back and just broke up the pinfall.  Owen and Jeff then worked over Storm giving him a Double Team version of the Stroke.  Lance Storm defeated Jeff Jarrett by disqualification in 0:08:07. Rating: *** (Jeff Jarrett retained the World Title.) Cyrus:  Again WCW interferes to keep a title.  WCW is full of punks that have no respect for this business. Hudson:  Are you listening to yourself?  This from a company that set out to destroy tradition.  Cyrus:  Well we are the tradition now Scotty old boy.   Hudson:  After the break it will be Vampiro taking on Rhino for the Hardcore Title. Vampiro became the Hardcore Champion with one of the few clean wins over Rhino.  The match went all over the building and actually left the property.  The two men just beat the hell out of each other until they ended up in a McDonalds across the street.  Rhino tried to throw Vampiro into the trash compactor but Vampiro got out.  Vampiro then hit a flying clothesline off it.  They then fought back into the building.  Vampiro ended up getting the victory by hitting the Nail in the Coffin on the counter of the store for the win. No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match: Vampiro pinned Rhino with the Nail In the Coffin in 0:25:18. Rating: *** 3/4 (Vampiro won the Hardcore Title.) Hudson:  What a win for Vampiro and WCW! Cyrus:  Do you think ECW will get paid for all that advertising McDonald's just got?? Hudson:  Don't you care that ECW just lost the Hardcore title? Cyrus:  Just watch. We go back to the building where Vampiro takes off his WCW shirt to show that he is wearing an ECW shirt. Hudson:  WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!!! Cyrus:  Let's just say that ECW ALWAYS has a backup plan!
