Thunder comes on with footage of the hideous attacks on Nitro. We see DDP being thrown off the stage. We also see Owen Hart taking a version of 3D in the back on the pavement. We also see Jeff Jarrett getting attacked by Kanyon. We then go to Gene Bennett who is with Michael Martin. Bennett: Michael, do we have an update on anyone who has been attacked in recent weeks? Martin: Well Spike Dudley has signed a waiver allowing him to return to action next week. DDP will not be in action until Fall Brawl. Owen Hart did not suffer any serious neck injury during the attack on Nitro. He is however being held off tonight's show as a precaution. After Nitro Jeff Jarrett took ten stitches above his eye. He has been cleared to wrestle tonight. Also Arn Anderson re-aggravated his neck injury in his match on Nitro so he will be held off tonight show as well. Bennett: Michael thank you for that info. Well folks wrestlers are dropping like flies as the aggression between ECW and WCW become more personal. Tonight we have a great show and for that info let's go down to the announce table where Mark Madden and Joey Styles are standing by. Styles: Thanks Gene. Well Mark several people are going down to injuries. Madden: Like Gene said, as this war rages on I think the injuries will continue to rise. But what Gene didn't mention is that some injuries are happening within WCW. WCW is falling apart and if we don't stick together there won't be a WCW for long. Styles: A very good point Mark. Let's go to the ring where one of the Misfits and one half of Too Cool Scott Taylor takes on Vampiro for the Hardcore Title. A new Hardcore Champion was crowned in a huge upset. Vampiro dominated Scott Taylor for the first few minutes. Then like the last several Hardcore title matches Ray Traylor, Steve Blackman, Mikey Whipwreck and Balls Mahoney all got involved. Mikey actually cost Vamp the title as he gave Vamp the Whippersnapper. The four men then fought to the back. In the ring Scotty got that crazy look in his eyes and hit the Worm for the upset victory.
No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match: Styles: A NEW CHAMPION!! Madden: Probably the most unexpected champion of all time in Scott Taylor. He is not thought of as a Hardcore wrestler but he will be now. Styles: Mark let's look at the rest of the show. Tonight TV Champion William Regal will take on Scott's partner Brian Christopher. Also Chris Candido will take on Lance Storm for the Cruiserweight champion. Madden: In tag team action Disqo and Curt Hennig will take on two men we saw during that match Balls Mahoney and Mikey Whipwreck. Also Ray Traylor takes on Steve Blackman in hardcore action and C.W. Anderson takes on Lex Luger. Styles: In our main event it will be the US Champion Sting teaming with Ric Flair taking on Jerry Lawler and Little Guido Maritato. Madden: After the break it will be Disqo and Curt taking on Balls and Mikey. This match was short as Vampiro came out and cost Mikey and Balls the match. Mikey went for a Frankensteiner but Vamp held Curt's trunks so that Mikey couldn't take him over. Curt then muscled Mikey back up and hit a power bomb for the win.
Disqo and Curt Hennig defeated Balls Mahoney and Mikey Whipwreck when
Curt Hennig pinned Whipwreck after a power bomb in 0:03:19. William Regal had a very competitive match up with Brian Christopher of Too Cool. Christopher got the near fall with a full nelson legsweep faceslam. Christopher then hit the Tennessee Jam but Regal got his foot on the rope. Regal moved out of the way of a second Tennessee Jam. Regal locked in the Regal Stretch but Brian got to the ropes. Regal went for the Cobra Neckbreaker but Brian countered into a short lariat. Christopher went for a piledriver but Regal countered with a slingshot into the corner. He then hit the Cobra Neckbreaker for the win.
William Regal pinned Brian Christopher with the Cobra Neckbreaker in 0:09:24. C.W. Anderson got an upset victory over the much more experienced Lex Luger. Luger worked over C.W.'s back setting him up for the Torture Rack. Luger hit a piledriver and went for the Torture Rack when Arn Anderson ran out. As Luger picked C.W. up for the Rack Arn hit Luger in the knee with a tire iron. C.W. quickly sent Luger into the corner and hit the Spinebuster for the upset win.
C.W. Anderson pinned Lex Luger with the Spinebuster Slam in 0:07:08. Madden: That TV Title was amazing. Brian Christopher had the best match of his career here tonight. Styles: William Regal has that ability to bring out the best of everyone and did it again with Brian. I think his match with Shane Douglas at Fall Brawl may steal the show. Madden: Right now I understand that Gene Bennett is in the back with Jeff Jarrett. Bennett: Jeff, you have been under attack recently by not only Rhino but Kanyon on Nitro. Jarrett: Gene, are you as dumb as you look? I know who has attacked me. Suddenly Shane Douglas bursts into the scene. Douglas: Hey Jackass. You have been dodging the Franchise since I came into WCW. You are afraid to take me on. Jarrett: Listen slappy I don't care how bad off I am I can kick your ECW ass. Tonight I am going to show you who has ALL the Stroke around here. We go to break with both men nose to nose. Ray Traylor made short work out of former tag team partner Steve Blackman in Hardcore action. Traylor won with the Traylor Park Trash through a table.
No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match: Jeff Jarrett retained his title as he took out Shane Douglas. Douglas went right after Jarrett's head busting him open just like Monday Night. Douglas then went after the neck setting up for the Franchiser. Jarrett however wouldn't stay down. He countered Shane's attempt for the Franchiser with a low blow. He then hit the Stroke and hooked the ropes for the win. After the match Rhino hit the ring. He gored both Jarrett and Douglas. Jarrett then took a piledriver as we go to break.
Jeff Jarrett pinned Shane Douglas with the Stroke in 0:05:36. After the break we see that the Undertaker came out to save Jeff Jarrett from Rhino's attack. That sets up the Rhino/Undertaker match that is currently taking place. The Undertaker dominated the match but when he went for Old School Rhino crotched him and then powerslammed him off the top rope for the win.
No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match: After the match we go to the back where we see Booker T on the phone. Booker: Yeah, a back injury huh? How long? Are you ok? You sure? Well don't you worry I will take care of Kanyon tonight. Booker hangs up and we go to break. Lance Storm retained his title over ECW's Chris Candido. These two former partners tore the place down. Storm hit a superkick early on that sent Candido to the floor. Storm then hit a springboard lariat that was picture perfect. Storm went for a springboard lariat into the ring, but Candido hit a powerslam. Candido hit a sitout piledriver and hit his Flying Headbutt for a near fall. Candido then ran at Storm who rolled him into the Maple Leaf. This brought Tammy onto the apron. Storm released the hold and pulled her into the ring. He locked her into the Maple Leaf. This allowed Candido to hit a DDT. Candido went to the top again and came off with an Double Ax Handle attempt but Storm blocked it and hit a Northern Lights Suplex for the win.
Lance Storm pinned Chris Candido after a Northern Lights suplex in 0:08:39. Booker T got DDP a bit of revenge as he took out Kanyon in this match. Kanyon pulled out every move in his book and came close to winning several times. He did hit the Flatliner but Booker kicked out. Kanyon also hit a slingshot Rocker Dropper and a super Samoan Drop but Booker would go down. Kanyon went for the Kanyon Cutter but Booker shoved him into the corner. Kanyon went over the top turnbuckle right into the post. He then stumbled back into the Book End for the pinfall. After the match the Dudley's hit the ring and attacked Booker giving him 3D. Kanyon then picked him up and gave him the Kanyon Cutter onto a chair. We go off the air with trainer Michael Martin checking on Booker.
Booker T pinned Kanyon with the Book End in 0:08:26. After the break we see Booker getting loaded into an ambulance. Kanyon sneaks up behind one of the EMT's and gives her the Kanyon Cutter. Kanyon: Page, that is what Kimberly can look forward to. SHE WILL FEEL MY BANG!!!! We then go to the ring where Little Guido and Jerry Lawler are facing Sting and Ric Flair. ECW's team got the win and it was the US Champion that went down for the 3 count. Flair and Sting, no strangers to each other, had good teamwork as they were united against ECW. Flair and Sting seemed to have things well in hand when Sting set up for the Stinger Splash. Lawler pulled Guido out of the way and Sting went straight to the post. Guido then hit the Kiss of Death from the top rope for the win.
Jerry Lawler and Little Guido Maritato defeated Sting and Ric Flair when Lawler and Guido laughed all the way up the ramp when Flair grabbed he mic. Flair: LAWLER! I am sick of this war. At Fall Brawl we will face off in Wargames. Here is my challenge to you. If WCW wins you retire from this company and NEVER return. If you and ECW win I will retire from here and NEVER return. What do you say? Lawler: Flair, the chance to retire the 'great' Ric Flair from WCW once and for is my dream. You got it. We go off the air with Flair and Lawler yelling back and forth. |
