WCW Nitro comes on the air with still photos from last nights pay per view.  We see the end shot of Rhino standing over Jeff Jarrett with both the World Title and the Hardcore Title.  We then go to the announce table to Scott Hudson and Cyrus. Hudson:  Welcome to NITRO EVERYONE!  That is WCW Nitro not ECW Nitro.  After last night all the gold but one came back to the rightful owners. Cyrus:  But many of your stars went down.  WCW's survivor Ric Flair went down to the KING in three straight falls.  Also Gene Bennett found out what happens when you mess with ECW. Hudson:  He found out what happens when you get gored by a Man Beast.  You couldn't do a damn thing on your own Cyrus.  For those of you who didn't see Massacre on 34th Street the encore happens tomorrow night. Cyrus:  Tune in to see Gene Bennett take an ass kicking.   Hudson:  Let's talk about some of the new champions that were crowned last night.  Every title but the Hardcore title returned to WCW.  Cyrus:  However that will change.  The TV Champion Steve Blackman is facing C.W. Anderson tonight and that title returns to us.  Dusty Rhodes is also giving The FBI's Tony Mamaluke and Big Vito a chance at the new Tag Team Champion Bill DeMott and Scott Steiner. Hudson:  Also The Jersey Boys will take on the Dudley Boys in tag team action and Curt Hennig takes on Disqo in singles action. Cyrus:  Wait a second, here comes the new Cruiserweight champion Owen Hart. Owen:  It is great to have gold around the waist of a Hart family member again.  Last night I did just what WCW has to do, kick ECW's ass!  I want to be the first to take the paint off our titles. Owen pulls out a can of paint remover and a rag and scrubs the ECW spray paint off.  Suddenly Lance Storm's music plays. Storm:  Owen that title belongs around the waist of the best cruiserweight in this company.  I am that man. Owen:  Then why is it I kicked your ass.  When my dad trained you he taught you everything you know.  But not everything he knows.  He saved that stuff for his sons.    Storm:  Then why don't you put that title up against me tonight? Owen:  Fine but lets find out just who is the best.  Two out of three falls. Storm:  That's fine.  Tonight you find out that I was born to wrestle and bred to win.  Hudson:  What a main event we just signed.  When we return it will be the TV Title on the line. The opening match was not what the crowd was looking for and they let the wrestlers know.  The end came when Blackman missed a flying elbow.  Moments later he was hit with a Spinebuster for the win. C.W. Anderson pinned Steve Blackman with the Spinebuster Slam in 0:06:36. Rating: -* 1/2 (C.W. Anderson won the TV Title.) Cyrus:  YES!  A title comes back to ECW.   Hudson:  Well C.W. is a fine competitor.  He better be too because he now will be wrestling every show. We now go to the back and see Tammy Sytch getting a cup of coffee.  William Regal comes up and gets a bottle of water.  Tammy turns and runs into him spilling her coffee. Tammy:  Watch it. Regal:  Did you say something to me? Tammy:  Yeah I said watch it. Regal:  I am sorry I don't visit ladies of the evening.  So why don't you go back to the corner you came off you little tart. Tammy:  What?  You are going to pay for that. Regal:  Sure I am.   We go to break as Regal gets a smile across his face. After the break we see the former tag team champions facing off wit the Jersey Boys.  The Jersey Boys got a big win with help from the Undertaker and the Big Show.  Before the match they showed stills of the Dudley's helping Balls and Mikey get the win.  We also see the Undertaker costing the Dudley's their match.  During the match Taker and Show came to ringside.  The official went down to a missed clothesline and all hell broke loose.  Armageddon pulled Buh Buh to the floor and gave him the Double Chokeslam to Hell through a table.  In the ring The Jersey Boys hit the Super Diamond Cutter for the win. The Jersey Boys defeated The Dudley Boys when Page pinned D-Von Dudley after the Super Diamond Cutter in 0:06:13. Rating: ** 3/4 Cyrus:  What the hell was that all about?  How can WCW justify blatant interference.  Hudson:  Basically we can by saying we are doing what ECW would do before ECW does it. Cyrus:  Shut the hell up.  Up next it will be Disqo taking on Curt Hennig. Disqo got a win over Curt Hennig.  During the match The Young Blood came to ringside.  This distracted Hennig on more then on occasion.  The end came when Hennig was about to hit the Hennig Plex on Disqo but JTB held Disqo's leg.  Hennig dropped Disqo and kicked at JTB.  Hennig then turned right into the Last Dance and got pinned.  Disqo pinned Curt Hennig with the Last Dance in 0:06:44. Rating: * 1/4 After the break we see Chris Candido in the ring with the mic. Candido:  William Regal.  I want you to get your ass out to this ring right now.  You insulted this lovely lady and you will pay for that. William Regal's music plays as he comes out and we have our next match. Regal picked up a big win over the former Cruiserweight champion in this match.  During the match Tammy interfered several times.  This brought out Gene Bennett, who had on a neck brace after being attacked by Rhino the night before.  Tammy once again tried to interfere but Gene pulled her from the apron.  In the ring Candido started yelling at Gene.  This allowed Regal to hit his Cobra Neckbreaker for the win.  After the match Tammy tried to hit Gene but he blocked it and planted a kiss on her.  Tammy began to spit as Gene just smiled.  He turned around right into a running Shane Douglas.  Douglas gave Gene the Franchiser.  Douglas then hit the ring and attacked Regal.  Regal and Douglas exchanged blows until C.W. Anderson and Candido joined in making it three on one.  Finally The Misfits ran out for the save. William Regal pinned Chris Candido with the Cobra Neckbreaker in 0:09:44. Rating: ** 3/4 Cyrus:  Tammy better go get her shots after being kissed by that fat bastard.  The only thing worse then being kissed by Joel Gertner would be being kissed by Bennett. Hudson:  I can't believe Douglas would attack a man in a neck brace.   Cyrus:  If he is hurt he shouldn't be at ringside Scotty old boy.  Up next it will be Too Cool taking on Balls Mahoney and Mikey Whipwreck. Too Cool picked up a big win.  This was back and forth action with both teams getting near falls.  The end came when all four men were in the ring.  Scotty hit Mikey with the Worm while Brian hit the Hip Hop Drop on Balls.  Scotty quickly covered Balls as he was the legal man for the win. Too Cool defeated Balls Mahoney and Mikey Whipwreck when Taylor pinned B. Mahoney after the Hip Hop Drop in 0:05:32. Rating: * 3/4 The New Tag Team Champion retained their titles in this match.  The FBI were really dominated in the match.  The end came when Steiner hit a super Frankensteiner followed by the Moonsault from DeMott and the win. Bill DeMott and Scott Steiner defeated FBI (Big Vito and Tony Mamaluke) when DeMott pinned Vito with the Moonsault in 0:05:28. Rating: ** 1/2 (Bill DeMott and Scott Steiner retained the Tag Team Titles.) Cyrus:  Damn.  I can't believe we came up short. Hudson:  I understand that Dusty Rhodes has ordered Sting and Booker T into his office, lets go to the back. We see Sting and Booker T entering the office. Sting:  What do you want Rhodes? Dusty:  Now now Sting, lets relax a bit.  I just wanted to let you know that you will be defending your title after the break. Booker:  What does that have to do with me? Dusty:  Why you are going to fight him Booker.   Sting:  And what if we refuse? Dusty:  I will fire you both and that title will be returned to the Franchise Shane Douglas.  Sting and Booker both leave as Dusty just smiles.  We then go to the back where Jerry Lawler is talking to Rhino. Lawler:  Rhino tonight we can kill two birds with one stone.  You and me Rhino can take out Flair and Jarrett once and for all.  If you finish off Jeff you will be the World Champion.  Tonight Rhino I have three words for you----GORE, GORE---- Rhino:  G-O-R-E! Lawler gets a big smile as we go to break. Sting and Booker T tore the place down in their match.  The match went back and forth.  Sting went for a Stinger Splash but Booker hit a Harlem Sidekick as a counter.  Booker hit a spinebuster and went for the Harlem Hangover but Sting crotched him and hit superplex.  Sting tried to lock in the Scorpion Deathlock but Booker kicked him off.  Booker went for the Book End but Sting countered with a back elbow.  He then hit the Scorpion Death Drop for the win. Sting pinned Booker T with the Scorpion Death Drop in 0:12:20. Rating: ** 3/4 (Sting retained the United States Title.) Hudson:  What a match that was.   Cyrus:  I have to agree Scott, those two gave us everything they had.  It is just a shame they are wearing the WCW colors.  Hudson:  I understand something is going on in the back. We go to the ECW locker room where Buh Buh Ray and D-Von are talking to Spike. Buh Buh:  Spike, he cost us the title. D-Von:  He cost us a match tonight. Buh Buh:  This is more then about us though Spike.  This is about ECW. D-Von:  He is out to destroy ECW.  He is out to destroy you. Buh Buh:  Tonight you have to teach him a lesson Dudley Styles. D-Von:  TESTIFY! Spike gets up and storms out of the room as Buh Buh and D-Von smile. We come back from break and see the Undertaker waiting for Spike Dudley in the ring.  The match was really one sided as Taker just dominated the runt of the litter.  Spike refused to go down but Taker wouldn't take no for an answer.  Finally Taker ended it with the Last Ride for the win.  After the match Buh Buh and    D-Von attack hitting the Dudley Death Drop before leaving Dead Man Inc. laying. The Undertaker pinned Spike Dudley with the Last Ride in 0:10:51. Rating: ** Cyrus:  Spike might have lost the battle but I think the Dudley's are going to win this war Scott. Hudson:  They won't go face to face with the Undertaker.  They are cowards just like the rest of ECW Cyrus.  Plain and simple. Cyrus:  We will see who the cowards are when this is all said and done.  Up next Jeff Jarrett and Ric Flair will take on the rightful World Champion Rhino and 'The King' Jerry Lawler. Lawler and Rhino got the win in this match up.  There was a lot of four man brawls through out.  At one point both Lawler and Rhino were locked in to Figure Fours.  The end came when Jarrett was about to lock on in on Lawler but Rhino gored him.  This knocked Jarrett into a small package and the win for ECW. Jerry Lawler and Rhino defeated Ric Flair and Jeff Jarrett when Lawler pinned Jarrett after an inside cradle in 0:07:49. Rating: ** 3/4 Cyrus:  YES!  THE KING IS THE WORLD CHAMPION!! Hudson:  What in the hell are you talking about?  That was a tag match.   Cyrus:  Well Lawler just pinned Jarrett he is the uncrowned champion. Hudson:  I am not even going to argue with you.  After the break our main event, Lance Storm and Owen Hart in a two out of three falls match. In what has to be the best match EVER in WCW history.  Both men gave everything they had.  Early on it was back and forth with counters and counter counters.  Owen got a near fall with a sitdown backslide.  Lance came back with a near fall crucifix.  The first fall came when Lance tried a springboard lariat but Owen hit a powerslam.  He then locked in the Sharpshooter for the submission win.  Owen had to release the hold.  He tried to lock it back in but Lance hit a quick small package for a near fall.  Owen came up and went for a spin kick but Lance ducked.  Storm then it a superkick that knocked Owen over the top.  Storm hit a plancha and rolled him back into the ring.  Moments later Storm hit a German Suplex for the win.  The third fall came just moments later.  Storm went for the Maple Leaf but Owen countered into the Sharpshooter.  Storm pulled himself to the ropes and countered into the Maple Leaf.  Owen refused to give up but passed out after nearly a minute in the hold. Hudson:  That is probably the greatest wrestling match I have ever seen.  Nothing but wrestling.  No interference.  No chairs or tables, just wrestling.  Too bad we don't see more action like that.  For everyone here at Nitro see you on Thunder.
