Thunder comes on the air with The Young Blood along with their manager Arn Anderson taking on Big Vito and Tony Mamaluke Vito and Mamaluke got the win after The Young Blood came up short. The match went back and forth. Arn Anderson tried to interfere but ended up hitting JTB instead. This allowed Vito to hit the Big Vito Special on Knoble for the win. After the match Arn helped Johnny to his feet when he was attacked by Jaime Knoble. Johnny then joined in as it was a two on one. From the back out came Curt Hennig. The Young Blood scrambled to the back as we go to the announce table.
Big Vito and Tony Mamaluke defeated The Young Blood when Vito pinned
Knoble after the Big Vito Special in 0:07:25. Madden: Joey, what was that all about? Arn has been helping Johnny and Jaime in the back and this is how they repay him? Styles: Well they are young and full of vigor. They might have let their emotions get the best of them. Or they might have done the right thing and joined ECW. Madden: Well I understand that Mike Tenay is with them in the back now. Tenay: Jaime, Johnny, what is your problem? How could you turn on Arn Anderson after he has been working with you for weeks here in the back? Knoble: It is simple Mike. That old man tried to tell us that it takes time to be superstars. Well nothing personal but we are ready to be superstars now. JTB: That old man tried to hold us back to keep his own star shining. Well how about he brings that other old man Curt Hennig come to the pay per view to find out just who is ready to be a superstar. Tenay: What about WCW verse ECW? Knoble: Well lets just say that we now have different colored blood. JTB: Paul opened our eyes and showed us that ECW is where the young stars need to be. So that is where we are now. ECW 4 LIFE! We go to break with Tenay shaking his head. After the break we see Steve Blackman challenging Little Guido for the TV Title. Steve Blackman came up short just like everyone else has when challenging Little Guido. Blackman and Guido, much like their match before, was a shoot fight style match. However the end came when Guido hit the Kiss of Death out of nowhere for the win. After the match Guido again tried to lock in the ankle lock but Ray Traylor ran out from the back. Guido however was ready for this and caught him coming in. Guido gave him the Kiss of Death and locked in the Kiss of Death. Guido then locked in the Ankle lock on Traylor. Disqo then made his return as he attacked Guido from behind. Disqo pulled Guido off Traylor and hit him with the Last Dance.
Little Guido Maritato pinned Steve Blackman with the Kiss of Death in 0:07:07. Madden: I never thought I would be glad to see Disqo in the ring, but I am glad that he is back. Guido may have knocked some since into Disqo a few weeks ago. Styles: Disqo is very underrated in this business and is a former TV Champion. Wait a minute, Guido has the mic. Guido: Hey you three WCW jabronies. You want to hang out and attack the TV Champion. Why don't the three of you come to Massacre on 34th Street and we have a four way for the title. Guido throws the mic down and we go to break. After the break we see William Regal taking on C.W. Anderson. Regal picked up a win over C.W. Anderson. This match was battled on the mat as both men are expert mat grapplers. C.W. went for a lariat but Regal countered into the Cobra Neckbreaker for the win.
William Regal pinned C.W. Anderson with the Cobra Neckbreaker in 0:05:02. Styles: Regal is one hell of an athlete in the ring. He is a major player in this sport and any champion better watch out for him. Madden: Regal is a former tag team and US champion. Lately he hasn't be much of a threat but that could change any time. Styles: Up next Balls Mahoney will take on Booker T in hardcore action. Balls got the win with help from the Man Beast Rhino. Balls and Booker went back and forth but Booker seemed set to win. He hit the scissors kick and was setting up for the Book End when Rhino hit the ring. Rhino Gored both men. He then gave Booker a huge piledriver before leaving. Balls slowly got to his feet and hit the Nutcracker Suite on a chair for the win.
No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match: Styles: My God Booker nearly got broken in half with that gore. Madden: What did that son of a bitch have to do with that match? He had no business at all in the ring. Styles: He is the Hardcore Champion and the man beast, no one tells him what to do. I would be careful if I were you Mark or you could next on his list. Madden: Whatever. After that comment we go to break. After the break we see Owen Hart in the ring. Owen: In three days I get to become the Cruiserweight champion. However I need a warm up for that match. I am challenging any of you ECW boys to come out and fight the Black Hart! Rhino's music plays as he comes out and we have a Hardcore match on our hands. Rhino and Owen tore the ring and ringside up. Both men had the advantage at different points. However Chris Candido came out and attacked Owen, trying to weaken him before their match this Sunday. Rhino gored Owen after the attack. He locked in the Rhino Recliner but Booker T ran from the back. He gave Rhino the scissors kick followed by the Book End. Then from the back out ran Lance Storm. He gave Booker T a huge superkick that knocked him out of the ring. Owen got up and took one as well. Rhino got to his feet only to be given a DDT. Storm then left through the fans to a huge ovation. Rhino was able to recover before Owen and locked in the Rhino Recliner for the win.
No-Countout-No-DQ-Non-Title-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match: Madden: What in the hell is Lance thinking about? Just who is he fighting for? Styles: Isn't it clear Mark? He is fighting for----WATCH OUT!! An angry Rhino pulls Mark Madden over the announce table. He gives Madden a right hand knocking him out. Rhino rolls the rotund announcer into the ring and put a table into the ring as well. He then gores Madden through the table. Rhino then took the mic. Rhino: BOOKER T---you me at the pay per view----I WILL KILL YOU! Rhino then throws the mic down and we go to the break. After the break we see that Gene Bennett has joined Joey Styles at the announce table. Bennett: It is great to be back announcing. Joey, I want to say I am sorry for the way I treated you on Nitro a few weeks ago. You have proved that you are possibly the best play by play man in the business. Cyrus: Wait a minute, WAIT JUST A MINUTE! Bennett: Oh no, what does he want? Cyrus: What are you doing out here Gene? You aren't an announcer anymore. Gene leaves the announce table and gets into the ring. Bennett: Cyrus, what is your problem? You come out here on Monday's night and speak a bunch of ECW dribble. Well how about you take your ECW propaganda and stick it right up your as---- Cyrus: Better watch your mouth Gene. We at the NETWORK don't like what you are about to say. Bennett: Maybe the network will like this. Gene nails Cyrus with a right hand. He then mounts Cyrus raining rights down on him. This brings out Big Vito, Tony Mamaluke and C.W. Anderson. They grab Gene and hold him as Cyrus gets back to his feet. Cyrus: I took out on fat slob by the name of Joel Gertner in the past. Now I am going to take you out. Cyrus then begins to punch and kick Gene. From the back out came Too Cool and William Regal. ECW quickly scramble to the floor. Gene then grabs the mic, blood coming from his mouth. Bennett: Why don't you four show up at Massacre on 34th Street and the four of us will face off in eight man tag team action. Cyrus: You got it fat boy. I am going to kick your fat ass just like I did Gertner's. We then go to the back where Mike Tenay is wit The Jersey Boys, DDP and Kanyon, along with Scott Steiner and Bill DeMott. Tenay: Guys, tonight you team up against two other tag teams. However in three days you will be going against each other and those two teams in a fatal four way for the Tag Team Titles. Page: Mikey it will still be WCW verse ECW at the pay per view. Steiner: Hold it right there Page. At Massacre on 34th Street it is going to be every team for themselves. I don't give a damn about WCW to be completely honest all I want is gold. DeMott: All I care about is getting my hands on the Dudley's and getting revenge for Lash. Kanyon: Well that is fine with us. Hell after the match tonight it is every team for themselves. Page: YOU WILL FEEL THE----- Page & Kanyon: BANG!!! Tenay: Up next eight-man tag team action Team WCW got the win that had very little teamwork by both teams. It seems as if the idea of the tag titles had all eight men on guard. There wasn't much to announce till the end of the match. Doring and Buh Buh collided. Buh Buh thought that Doring was trying to get a little extra advantage for Sunday and attacked his ECW teammate. Roadkill, seeing this attacked D-Von. Soon however it was Doring and Roadkill both on the ground and The Dudley's leaving them laying. Steiner took advantage and locked in the Steiner Recliner for the win. DeMott gave Doring the Moonsault at the same time. Steiner and DeMott celebration however was short lived. Kanyon and DDP hit their respective 'cutters' on Steiner and DeMott before leaving. We then go to the announce table where Mike Tenay is now with Joey Styles.
The Jersey Boys, Bill DeMott and Scott Steiner defeated Danny Doring
and Roadkill and The Dudley Boys when S. Steiner made Roadkill submit
to the Steiner Recliner in 0:08:29. Tenay: The tension is so thick going into the pay per view Joey. Styles: Mark, for the first time we are seeing cracks in the foundation of both camps. I am getting word that Lance Storm is heading toward Dusty Rhodes office. We see Dusty in his office when Lance Storm bursts in. Storm: Rhodes, what is this bull? How can Owen Hart get a title shot when I kicked his ass just a few weeks ago? Dusty: You are right, however the ruling was that the winner would get a title shot. However let me suggest this. If you can defeat the Undertaker next you can face both men in a Three Way Dance. Storm: You got it Rhodes. I am going to prove why I was born to wrestle and bred to win. After the break we see Lance Storm fighting for a chance to get a title shot at Massacre on 34th Street. Taker was fired up but it wasn't enough when his newest arch enemies Mikey Whipwreck and Balls Mahoney hit the ring after the official went down. Balls had a bandage over his eye from the stray fireball on Nitro. Balls and Mikey hit a spiked Whippersnapper while Storm watched on. Storm then attacked Mikey and Balls. Mikey took a superkick and Balls took a cradle piledriver. He then locked the Taker into the Maple Leaf for the win.
Lance Storm made The Undertaker submit to the Maple Leaf in 0:07:46. Tenay: Looks like Lance Storm will be joining another Canadian Owen Hart to take on Chris Candido. What a match that will be. Styles: The Undertaker has the mic. Taker: Mikey, Balls, I am sick of this [BLEEP]. This Sunday your sorry asses have a tag match against the Dark Angel and myself. This is going to be a flaming table match. That simple means that the first team to go through a flaming table loses. Now lets see who likes to play with fire. Styles: OH MY GOD! That is one hell of a match. We then go to the back where Terry Taylor is with Sting, Jeff Jarrett and Ric Flair. Taylor: Guys, tonight we all get a preview of the pay per view as you face your respect opponents in six man tag team action. Sting: Terry, tonight we show the world that WCW is the best damn wrestling company around. Tonight I begin to prove that I am the Franchise. Flair: Terry, you have been in the ring with me. You know what I can do. Tonight I start the dissection of Jerry Lawler. He says he is a big superstar in Memphis but he couldn't even come close to becoming Major of that two bit town. Jarrett: You all know that I have had problems with both of these men in the past. But neither one pissed me off as much as that slapass Spike Dudley. He walks around with OUR World Title. Sting: Tonight we prove that we are the dominate company. ECW----IT'S SHOWTIME!!! Team ECW got the win here. It went back and forth with several quick tags. Near the end of the match everything broke down. Spike and Jeff fought up the rampway. Lawler and Flair were on the floor and Sting was in the ring with Douglas. Sting was about to hit the Scorpion Death Drop but official H.C. Loc gave Sting a low blow. Douglas then hit the Franchiser for the win.
Jerry Lawler, Spike Dudley and Shane Douglas defeated Ric Flair, Jeff
Jarrett and Sting when Douglas pinned Sting with the Franchiser in 0:10:09. We go off the air with Douglas holding his title over a fallen Sting. |
