The show starts off with footage from Thunder. We see Flair and Vader have a little scuffle and also see Flair get defeated by Bret Hart. We then go to the CEO's office. Flair: Ok big guy, we both got a little upset on Thunder. But I have a job for you. Tonight you take out that goof Disqo do you understand me. I don't care how you do it but I want him broken in half. Do you understand me? Vader: Yeah I understand you but I want to make one thing clear right now. IF YOU EVER LAY ANOTHER HAND ON ME I AM GOING TO BREAK YOU IN HALF! Flair: Ok big fella, you got it. Now get to the ring. We then go to the announce table where Scott Hudson is with Gene Bennett. Hudson: Disqo last week had to beat The Big Show and now it is the Mastodon Big Van Vader? What does the CEO have against Disqo? Bennett: I think that Flair is trying to hold Disqo back. For years DI has been held back and I think it was Flair doing it all along. It makes me sick to my stomach to be honest. Hudson: Well Disqo is in the ring and here comes Vader.
Big Van Vader defeated Disqo by countout in 0:05:21. Vader completely destroyed Disqo. Disqo couldn't do a thing against this man. Disqo even tired to run but Vader stopped that. Vader tossed Disqo to the floor and that was when the Enforcer Arn Anderson ran out. Disqo turned right into a shot from a tire iron knocking him cold. The official then counted Disqo out giving Vader a countout victory but not the title. Vader stormed to the back while the trainer and official Terry Taylor helped Disqo to the back. Hudson: I can't believe a man like Arn would do that. He could have done serious damage to Disqo. Bennett: For years I looked up to the Enforcer but now the site of him makes me sick. Just like Flair he is trying to stay in the spot light. Hudson: Let's go to the back where Mean Gene is with the trainer Michael Martin. Mean: Mike, can you give me an update on Disqo? Martin: Well he was knocked completely out. We are going to take him to the hospital for some tests. It looks like he has a concussion if not more. Mean: Thank you Mike. I just want to say that Arn Anderson should be ashamed of himself for that attack. I think he should be suspended and fired for such actions. Let's go back to Scott at the booth. Hudson: You are right there Gene. When we come back it will be a three way hardcore dance between Steve Blackman, Bill DeMott and Gangrel.
No-Countout-No-DQ-3-Man Battle Royal: This was a short hardcore match as Gangrel was singled out by DeMott. DeMott sent Gangrel into the corner and Blackman followed in with a huge Pump Kick that led to Gangrel's elimination. DeMott then made short work of Blackman when he hit Blackman with a Spinebuster for the win. After the match the lights went out and when they came up both DeMott and Blackman were covered in blood. Bennett: Gangrel continues with his little mind games, but he is upsetting a lot of people Scott. Hudson: That is an understatement. Gangrel isn't on much of winning streak but is a threat in any match. Let's go to Mean Gene who is with Danny Doring and Roadkill. Mean: Danny Doring, Roadkill, last week on Thunder you got what has to be your biggest win here in WCW as you beat the number one contenders Jeff Jarrett and Curt Hennig. That led to you two getting a title shot here tonight. Doring: Gene, this is the night. Tonight is the night we get those belts. We are the best team in WCW today and tonight we prove that. Mean: Well you are going up against a tough team in Owen Hart and Lance Storm. Doring: They are tough and are both great athletes in their own rights. But we are hungry Gene. We are younger, faster and want it more. Mean: Up next the tag team title match. Roadkill: CHICKENS!! Mean: Has everyone got insane around here??
The New Hart Foundation defeated Danny Doring and
Roadkill when O. Hart pinned Doring after the Hart Attack in 0:10:58. The New Hart Foundation had troubles with this match as on several occasions Doring and Roadkill nearly won the belts. They hit the Lancaster Lariat of Lust, their version of the Hart Attack that was as close to a three count as you can get. Moments later they hit the Buggy Bag on Storm but Owen broke it up. The end came when Roadkill was on the top but Owen shoved him off through the announce table. Doring moments later feel victim to the Hart Attack and the champs kept their titles. Hudson: ROADKILL IS LITERALLY IN OUR LAPS!! Bennett: He seems to be ok though Scott. He is already moving which is a good sign, what a horrendous bump that was. Hudson: Let's go to Mean Gene while we try to clean stuff up. Mean: Scott, don't get hurt to bad out there. Up next we have a four way dance between four of the top cruiserweights. I am here with Lash LeRoux now. Lash, what is your strategy going into this match? Lash: Wel--- Suddenly the Man Beast gores Lash out of no where. Rhino then picks him up and gores him again into a steel garage door. Rhino turns to Mean Gene but the Big Show steps in between them. Rhino: You want a piece of me big fella? Tonight in the ring I take care of you and then I am coming for you old man!
No-Countout-No-DQ-3-Man Battle Royal: After Rhino attacked LeRoux it became a three way dance between Candido, Christopher and Knoble. This match was short and sweet. Candido was the firs to fall thanks to interference from Tony Mamaluke. He hit Candido with a chair setting up the Tennessee Jam from Christopher. Moments later Knoble hit the Tombstone for the win. Bennett: A big win for Jaime Knoble in that match. Jaime is a former cruiserweight champion and probably a future one as well. Hudson: He has continued to impress everyone here in WCW that is for sure. The Horsemen music plays as Ric Flair comes out with the Horsemen, William Regal and Rhino. Flair: Shut the hell up right now. I am out here to right a wrong. Arn get over here right now. Bennett: I don't believe it, Ric is actually going to do something. Flair: How dare you attack Disqo with a tire iron? Don't you know you could have injured him? Hudson: Is this the same Ric Flair we have seen the last month or so? Flair: How dare you not finish him off? YOU SHOULD HAVE BROKE HIS NECK! Bennett: That's it. Gene throws his head set off and gets into the ring. Bennett: Flair, I have had just about enough of you. You are talking about a man's career. What kind of man are you? Flair: You haven't learn yet have you boy? Do you know where you are? You are in the ring with the best in the world. Bennett: I am in the ring with a bunch of suck ups. Jarrett, you are a former World Champion and now you are in the tag team division? Regal, you were a former US champion and now you are just Flair's bitch. Arn, you have never been a World Champion because you were always looking out for Ric. Flair: Are you done? Bennett: Yeah, I guess I am. Flair: You are in more the one way, that is for sure. Gene looks confused when suddenly Rhino charges Gene. Gene however was ready and ducked the charge. Rhino turned around into a forearm shot from Bennett. Gene then hits a low blow on Rhino which slows him down. Bennett then turns toward Flair and turns right into a Spinebuster from Anderson. Regal quickly locks in the Regal Stretch. This brings out Bret Hart, but he is out numbered. This brought out Big Van Vader. Everyone quickly left the ring but Regal who was caught by Vader. Regal took a huge Powerbomb and then Bret locked in Sharpshooter. Flair: VADER! You just made the biggest mistake of your career fat boy. Vader: You are wrong there Ric. The biggest mistake was when I allowed myself to fall in with you. Flair, check that Rolex for me. What time is it? IT'S VADER TIME! Hart releases the Sharpshooter and Regal rolls to the floor. Hart: Why don't you come into this ring right now Flair? Come on the odds are a little more even. Flair: Even huh? Well Vader don't go back and shower just yet. Bennett, don't bother going back to the announce table either. You want to get into the ring well you got it son. Tonight you are teaming with your new friends against Jeff Jarrett, Curt Hennig and Arn Anderson. Bennett: Wait a second, I am not a wrestler here in WCW, I am an announcer. Flair: Well tonight you will be getting into the ring. Next time maybe you won't open your damn mouth so much. WHOO!! Hudson: What has Gene got himself into?
Just Joe pinned Scott Taylor with the Jumping DDT in 0:03:55. After the break Just Joe got an upset win over Scott Taylor. Taylor went to the top and tried to hit a bodyblock but Joe ducked. Joe took advantage of a stunned Taylor and hit a Jumping DDT for the win. Hudson: Another win for Joe. I am not joined by Mike Tenay in place for Gene Bennett. Tenay: Well it seems that Gene might have bit off more then he can chew as he got himself into a match. Hudson: Well he has been training down at the power plant so maybe it won't be as bad as we think. Tenay: Power plant or not this will be his first match and I think he is in for a beating. Hudson: Up next it will be Chris Kanyon and Vampiro.
Vampiro pinned Chris Kanyon with the Nail In the
Coffin in 0:09:21. In a match of former Ministry members Vampiro came out on top. This was with the help of Shane Douglas. Douglas attacked Kanyon while on the floor with the Hardcore title. He then hit a belly to belly suplex and tossed him back into the ring. Moments later Vampiro hit the Nail in the Coffin for the win. Hudson: Vampiro seems to be on a bit of a winning streak, but what I think about when Vampiro comes to mind is the 'return' that he continues to talk about. Tenay: Well we all know it is the Undertaker he is talking about Scott. What is scary is that we don't know when or where this return will happen and what damage will happen when he does return. Hudson: Let's go to the back where Mean Gene is with his bodyguard Paul Wight. Mean: Paul, let me say this, kid his damn ass for me. Show: You got it!
Rhino made Paul Wight submit to the Rhino Recliner in 0:03:34. The Man Beast completely destroyed The Big Show who looked more like the big slow in this match. Rhino gored Show and then locked in the Rhino Recliner. After the match he finally got his hands on Mean Gene. It took on punch and Gene was down and out. Rhino went to the back laughing. Hudson: Mean Gene is down, Gene Bennett has a match, Disqo could be severely hurt and we still have more here tonight. Tenay: This is what makes WCW great Scott.
No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match: A new Hardcore Champion was crowned as Ray Traylor recaptured the title with the help of Chris Kanyon. Traylor was holding his own when the Triple Threat hit the ring. It soon became a beat down on Traylor. From the crowd out ran Chris Kanyon. Kanyon spun C.W. around and hit him with a Kanyon Cutter. He then backdropped Candido out of the ring as he charged him. Kanyon then went after Douglas. The two exchanged rights until Douglas got the upper hand with a low blow. Douglas went a belly to belly suplex but Kanyon poked him in the eye. He then gave Douglas a Kanyon Cutter. He picked him up and whipped him into Traylor who gave Douglas the Traylor Park Trash for the win and the title. Traylor took his belt and left. Kanyon meanwhile pulled a Mortis mask out of his trunks and left it on Douglas. Hudson: A new Hardcore Champion was just crowned folks. Ray Traylor just became a two time Hardcore Champion thanks to Chris Kanyon. Tenay: Shane Douglas can't be happy about that. He is obsessed with titles and hates to be without one. Wait a second, he has the mic. Douglas: THIS IS BULLSH!T! Kanyon, at the Great American Bash your ass is mine. And Traylor, one way or another I am getting my F*CKING TITLE BACK! Douglas throws the mic as we go to break. After the break we see Terry Taylor with Vader, Hart and Bennett. Taylor: Gene, your mouth has written quite a check here tonight. Bennett: Terry, you have been down at the power plant with me. You know I can hold my own. Taylor: Against the other plant kids you look good but those are three seasoned veterans. Hart: Well he isn't on his own Terry. He has the Excellence of Execution and the Mastodon on his side. The Horsemen are a plague and we will end it here tonight. Vader: Taylor, you know me. I don't quit and I don't put up with people's SH!T either. Hart: Tonight the Horsemen go down! Taylor: That match is up next.
Curt Hennig, Jeff Jarrett and Arn Anderson defeated
Bret Hart, Big Van Vader and Gene Bennett when Jarrett pinned G.
Bennett with the Stroke in 0:11:29. This was really a handicap match as Hart and Vader kept Bennett out of the ring. Early on Vader was able to stay in control with his superior size and strength, but the Horsemen finally took him off his feet. Jarrett locked in the Figure Four for quite a few moments. Hart was tagged in and took over on Jarrett but Jarrett and Hennig took over. Finally it broke down into a three on two and Bennett came in. Gene hit several rights on all three men before Hennig finally clipped him. Anderson and Jarrett knocked Vader to the floor and then backdropped Hart to the floor. Arn and Hennig went to the floor while Jarrett tried to lock in the Figure Four. Bennett countered into a near fall. Bennett then tried to come back with a slam and a legdrop. Bennett then went for a Russian legsweep which Jarrett countered into the Stroke for the win. Ric Flair, Rhino and William Regal then came out and the group continued to beat the other team. This brought out the World Champion Booker T, Sting and Spike Dudley. Tenay: THIS IS INSANE! Hudson: Wait a minute the locker rooms have emptied. The FBI, The Triple Threat, Just Joe, Bill DeMott, Scott Steiner, everyone is out here. Tenay: The police and security are finally out trying to clear this up. Let's go to break. After the break we see security finally separating everyone. In the ring we have a tag team match with William Regal and Ric Flair taking on Spike Dudley and Booker T
Ric Flair and William Regal defeated Booker T and
Spike Dudley when Regal pinned Spike Dudley with the Cobra
Neckbreaker in 0:10:40. This match was a great tag team match between two would be great teams. Flair and Regal had great teamwork while Booker and his opponent at the Great American Bash didn't. The end came when Booker and Spike had some miss communication. It was during a four way brawl that Booker tried to hit Flair with a side kick but Flair ducked and the kick hit Spike in the back. Spike, being a hot head and a Dudley, then attacked Booker. He gave him a low blow followed by the Acid Drop. Dudley then turned into a European Uppercut from Regal and was hit with a Cobra Neckbreaker for the win. Hudson: What a Nitro everyone. Tenay: This was chaos. A new champion was crowned and the main event at the Great American Bash has really heated up. For Mean Gene, Gene Bennett, Terry Taylor and Scott Hudson, I am Mike Tenay. See you on Thunder. |
