Nitro is on the air with fireworks and shots of the crowd. We then go to the announce table. Hudson: Welcome to Nitro everyone. My usual partner Gene Bennett isn't here after the attack by Big Van Vader last week. Taking his place will be Mike Tenay. Tenay: It is great to be back out here with you Scott. Tonight we have another great show. We have our US Title on the line in our main event as William Regal takes on the FBI's Little Guido. Also the New Hart Foundation will face the team that beat the original Foundation in Roadkill and Danny Doring.
Hudson: Let's go to the ring
where Scott Taylor is facing Just Joe.
Scott Taylor pinned Just Joe with the Worm in 0:03:58. Scott Taylor and Just Joe had a decent match with nothing to report about. After the match Taylor went up the ramp where he was attacked by the FBI. This brought out Bill DeMott and Lash LeRoux who made the save. Meanwhile in the ring Just Joe was pulling himself up when from the crowd out came Scott Steiner. Steiner hits Joe in the back of the head knocking with his pipe him out. Steiner then took the mic. Steiner: FLAIR, were you listening on Thunder? Get out here with my contract NOW! Ric comes out on the ramp. Flair: Scotty, this isn't how stuff is done in my WCW. If you want a title shot you have to prove yourself in the ring. So far all I have seen from you is attacking people. Steiner: I warned you on Thunder that if you didn't give me my shot you would pay. You have been warned.
We then go to break. After
the break we see Lash LeRoux taking on cruiserweight champ Tony Mamaluke
Tony Mamaluke pinned Lash LeRoux with the Guillotine
Legdrop in 0:06:16. Lash LeRoux tried to de-throne the champ but Tony is just on a hot streak and won't be beat. Lash hit the Whiplash 2000 but somehow Tony kicked out. LeRoux then went to the top for a flying splash but Tony moved. Tony then hit a springboard DDT followed by his Guillotine Legdrop for the win. From the back out came The Mamalukes who put the boots to Lash. This brought out Bill DeMott for the save. Hudson: Another win for the cruiserweight champ. It looks like the FBI has a problem with Bill DeMott and Lash LeRoux though Mike. Tenay: It does seem that way, but it is two against five so it won't be a fair fight for sure. Right now Mean Gene is with Mortis and his manager the Sinister Minister. Mean: Well I have to say I am a bit uncomfortable right now Mike. I am here with Mortis and the Sinister Minister, I want to first ask about the Undertaker. Minister: This has nothing to do with him Gene. He did nothing but hold this man here back. Now that he is gone lets get to what is important, Mortis. Mean: Ok, what does this man want to talk about then? Minister: He wants to talk about Vampiro. Vampiro, you cost this man a chance at the world title and then cheated last week in the battle royal. Well let me make one thing clear, we don't forgive or forget. Mean: Tonight Mortis you face off with Roddy Piper.
Mortis just looks at Mean Gene and
then leaves with the Sinister Minister laughing.
Roddy Piper made Mortis submit to the Sleeper in 0:06:52. Roddy Piper got the win in this match thanks to interference from Vampiro. Mortis was really set for the win when Vampiro appeared. The Minister was distracting the ref so Mortis could hit Piper but instead Vampiro crawled from under the ring. He then hit Mortis in the back with a chair setting up the Sleeper and the win for Piper. Hudson: A big win for Piper against the younger Mortis. Tenay: It seems that since Spring Stampede these two have been after each other. Hudson: After the break it will be The Hart Foundation taking on the newly formed team of Steve Blackman and Brian Christopher.
As we go to break we see Scott
Steiner leave the arena.
Steve Blackman and Brian Christopher defeated The Hart
Foundation when Christopher pinned B. Hart after a full nelson
faceslam in 0:07:05.
This match was really much closer
then it should have been and ended in a huge upset. The Hart
Foundation just haven't been at the top of their games as of late.
The end came when the ref was putting Neidhart out. This
allowed Blackman to hit Bret with his kendo stick and Brian to hit a
full nelson faceslam and get the win.
The New Hart Foundation defeated Danny Doring and
Roadkill when L. Storm made Doring submit to the Maple Leaf in 0:12:53.
The New Hart Foundation got the win
here and retained their titles against the young team of Doring and Roadkill.
Doring and Roadkill came in with great confidence after defeating The
Hart Foundation on Thunder. Doring missed the Danaconda Legdrop.
Storm then locked in the Maple Leaf for the win.
Chris Candido won a 3 Way Dance:
This match came after Flair, the
Triple Threat and Disqo have been at each other's throats for the
last few weeks. This match was back and forth. Disqo
pinned Ric Flair after Candido set him up for the Last Dance with an
inverted atomic drop. Moments later Candido defeated Disqo with
Flair's finisher mocking him the entire time.
Paul Wight pinned Vampiro with the Showstopper in 0:06:54.
Mortis got a little bit of revenge
in this match as he helped Paul Wight get the win. As Vamp
seemed ready to finish the monster off Mortis distracted him allowing
Wight to recover and hit the Showstopper for the win.
Gangrel put on a great showing here
as he nearly became TV Champ. The match went back and forth.
The end came when Shane pulled out his lucky chain and knocked
Gangrel out and got the win. During the match we see Scott
Steiner arrive with a man under a hood.
Curt Hennig pinned Jaime Knoble with the Hennig Plex
in 0:12:47. Curt Hennig returned to the winning side of things as he defeated former cruiserweight champion Jaime Knoble. This match was possibly the best showing for both men. This proved that Knoble could be ready to move to the next level. The end came when Knoble set too early for a backdrop and was hit with the Hennig Plex. As Hennig was leaving we hear Sirens blare and Scott Steiner drags out the man under a hood. Hennig rushes back to the ring and helps Knoble out in a show of sportsmanship. Steiner just shot a look at both men before throwing the hooded man into the ring. Steiner: Flair I warned you not to screw with me. I have attacked wrestlers but that didn't get your attention. So went out and got someone else. He then put the Steiner Recliner on the hooded man before taking the hood off revealing David Flair. Steiner: I will break his god damn neck if you don't get out here and give me a title shot. Ric Flair comes out onto the ramp. Flair: Scotty, stop please. You got it. You can have what ever you want, just leave him alone please. Steiner: Give me Booker T on Thunder Ric! Flair: I can't Scotty. You know that. I tell you what, at Slamboree I will give you William Regal. Just let him go. Steiner: Flair, you are lucky we go way back because I am going to agree. But if you try to weasel your way out I will not only get David, but Reed and that lovely wife of yours Beth. Flair: Don't touch her Scott. Steiner: Then I suggest you make sure I win at Slamboree. We go to break with Steiner leaving the ring and Ric checking on David. After the break we see William Regal in the ring.
Regal: Once again I must talk
about justice. It seems that I am being forced into a match
with a psycho that I can't win. I am destine to lose this belt
that bears my countries name, the British Heavyweight Title.
Well as your good will ambassador I refuse to give up hope.
Tonight after I beat Guido I will have a meeting with my attorney
about this.
William Regal pinned Little Guido Maritato with the
Cobra Neckbreaker in 0:10:08. This match went back and forth but in the end William Regal came out on top. During the match the rest of the FBI came out and tried to attack Regal when Scott Taylor, Bill DeMott and Lash LeRoux all came out. During the huge brawl on the floor Regal hit the Cobra Neckbreaker and got the win. We go off the air with a brawl involving all the men at ringside. |
