Thunder comes on the air with footage of Rhino's several attacks.  We then go to the back where we see a car pull out.  Out steps Bill DeMott.  He walks right into the building.  He storms to the ring where two local workers are finish their tryout match.  The workers look at DeMott, then at each other and they quickly leave.  DeMott:  RHINO!!!  I watched Nitro from the damn hospital last night because of what you did.  Do you think that we are going to take this laying down?  HELL NO!  Tonight I called up the commissioner Dusty Rhodes and got you a match signed.  Not against Bill DeMott---ahaha---not against General Rection---AHAHAHA---it is with Hugh Morrus.  Morrus throws his mic down and storms to the back laughing the entire way. Hudson:  Are we on?  What a way to start the show.  It looks like for at least tonight Hugh Morrus is back.  I am here with Mike Tenay this week folks. Tenay:  Bill DeMott is a strange man.  When he puts on that Hugh Morrus singlet he becomes a different man.  This is going to be wild. Hudson:  Also tonight we see Disqo defend his TV title against former Hardcore champion Ray Traylor.  Tony Mamaluke and Chris Candido go one on one.  Tenay:  The CEO and the Horsemen are here also folks.  Our first match tonight will be Just Joe taking on former Cruiserweight champion Jaime Knoble for that title. Just Joe pinned Jaime Knoble after a small package in 0:04:03. Rating: 1/4* (Just Joe retained the WCW Cruiserweight Title.) Just Joe continued his winning streak as he took down Jaime Knoble.  Like all of Joe's matches he was dominated but somehow managed to win.  Knoble went for his Tombstone but Joe floated over and rolled Knoble up for the win.  We then go to the back where Mean Gene is with Curt Hennig and Jeff Jarrett. Mean:  Jeff Jarrett, how can you be teaming with a man that last week on this show you hit with a guitar? Jarrett:  Well hello Jurassic slapass.  How can I team with him?  That is easy.  When the boss, and by that I mean Ric Flair, tells you that he is bring the Horsemen together and he wants you as part of the team that will dominate wrestling do you say no?  Mean:  Well---- Jarrett:  That was a rhetorical question slapnut, of course you don't.  So that is how I team with the Perfect One. Hennig:  You see Gene, we were fighting because we knew that no one else in WCW could give up the level we deserve.  Guys like Booker T, Big Van Vader, and even Rhino can't hang with us.  So when Ric asked us to team why not?  Who is going to stop us?  Those Canadians?  Two goofy Italians that can't get anything right?  A so called ladies man and a freakish Amish guy?  Mean:  What about the Original Hart Foundation?   Jarrett:  Well from what the CEO was told he won't be around for a while.  Something about a ruptured kidney and broken ribs.  That only leaves a dancing goof and a Sergeant Carter look alike. Hennig:  And in just a few minutes we will get back them the only way we know how to do.  Hennig and Jarrett:  PERFECTLY!!! Mean:  Looks like we have a tag team match up next. Curt Hennig and Jeff Jarrett defeated Brian Christopher and Steve Blackman when Jarrett pinned Blackman with his special move in 0:05:12. Rating: * Hennig and Jarrett got their second win on Thunder.  This was because of the help from the other two Horsemen members.  Arn and Ric were involved as much as Hennig and Jarrett.  The end came when Flair distracted the ref and Jarrett hit Steve Blackman with his guitar to end the match.  After the match Flair grabbed the mic.  Flair:  WHOO!   The Horsemen running wild again.  Now on Nitro I came up short on my attempt at becoming the US Champion because I was distracted but that is ok.  I might have missed the chance but I know Double A here won't miss it.  Scott Steiner, tonight you face the Enforcer.  And remember he owes you one. Arn:  Scott, you might have muscles on top of muscles but what you don't have is brains.  I am going to not only out wrestle you but out think you.  Tonight you learn that some things just get better with age. Flair:  Now onto Dusty Rhodes.  Dusty I hope your few days as the commissioner because as of tonight you are FIRED! Bag pipes play as Roddy Piper comes out. Piper:  Hold it right there.  You know very well that Dusty isn't here tonight and all of us in the back knew it as well.  As I was arriving my cell phone went off and it was a 'friend' of yours.  The one that appointed Dusty as the commish.  He said that should you try this that I was to give you two messages.  One message was that you can't fire the commish.  The second being that since Dusty couldn't be here tonight that I should be the temp.  So I am going to book one match that hasn't been booked yet  That match is you going against the one and only living legend in the sport---ME!  So get ready to get Rowdy!! Flair:  You got it boy.  Tonight we end all of the bad blood between us!  WHOO!! We go to break with Flair and the Horsemen talking and pointing to Piper on the ramp. Disqo pinned Ray Traylor with the Last Dance in 0:08:14. Rating: * 1/2 (Disqo retained the WCW TV Title.) Disqo retained his title against a former Hardcore champion in Ray Traylor.  The match went back and forth and the official went down.  This gave Traylor a chance to take the match more his style and he brought in the Nightstick he carries.  Traylor swung but missed.  Disqo grabbed the nightstick and kicked Traylor in the gut at the same time.  Disqo then gave Traylor a Last Dance with the Nightstick across his arm and got the win.  We then go to the back where The Triple Threat are entering their locker room. Douglas:  Listen guys this isn't going to happen any more.  I am the damn Franchise around here and I can't be losing all the damn time. They enter the locker room and the place is trashed and covered in blood.  Suddenly the lights go out.  When they come back up Chris Candido and C.W. Anderson are both up against walls knocked out and Shane Douglas is covered in blood.  Shane looks around and charged out of the locker room. After the break we go to the announce table. Hudson:  The Triple Threat just became the latest victims of a blood bath Mike. Tenay:  Not only that but Chris and C.W. both got beat up by the looks of things.  Wait just a second here comes Shane Douglas still covered in blood. Douglas:  Gangrel!  Gangrel you think you can go around beating people up and throwing blood around.  Well this crap is fine but what I like is real blood.  I am going back to my roots tonight.  I made EC F$CKING W and tonight I will make the F$CKING HARDCORE DIVISION!! The lights go out suddenly.  They then start flashing red and when the come up Gangrel is right in front of Douglas.  He spits blood into his face and the match is on.  No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match: Shane Douglas pinned Gangrel with the Franchiser in 0:11:22. Rating: ** 1/4 (Shane Douglas won the WCW Hardcore Title.) The match went back and forth in the ring and finally they fought to the back.  In the back Douglas finally started to pick things up.  Douglas picked up a glass pitcher and smashed Gangrel in the face.  Gangrel was bleeding almost immediately.  Gangrel however started to come back but that brought the recovered Chris Candido and C.W. Anderson to attack Gangrel.  Gangrel was given a spike piledriver from Candido and Anderson.  Douglas picked him up and gave him the Franchiser for the win. Hudson: Shane Douglas walks out with a title.  Less then a week ago he lost the TV title and now picks up the Hardcore title.  Tenay:  That is a big win for him.  Shane Douglas made his name in the hardcore wrestling so this could be the best for him.  Hudson:  And with C.W. and Chris both watching his back there might be no stopping him.  Lets go to the back where Mean Gene is with Johnny the Bull and Big Vito, the Mamalukes. Mean:  Tonight you two guys are going to get a shot at the Tag Team Titles. Vito:  This is the chance we have been waiting for.  We are former champions and tonight we get the belts back. JTB:  Hey Vito, can I break their thumbs? Vito:  Yeah Jon, you can after we take those belts.  I have the biggest grape fruit in WCW and we are going to be getting those belts. Mean:  Up next the tag team titles will be on the line. The New Hart Foundation defeated The Mamalukes when L. Storm made Vito submit to the Maple Leaf in 0:07:55. Rating: * 1/2 (The New Hart Foundation retained the WCW Tag Team Titles.) The Mamalukes looked good in this match.  They made quick tags but they made one mistake.  That mistake was having the rest of the FBI at ringside.  They distracted the ref which allowed Owen to hit Vito in the knee with the Canadian Flag which set up the Maple Leaf and they retained their titles.  The FBI argued before heading to the back.  We then go to the back where Terry Taylor is getting a cup of coffee.  Out of nowhere Kanyon runs by and hits him with the Kanyon Cutter.  He drops a Mortis mask.  We go to break with Kanyon running like a maniac toward the ring. After the break we see Kanyon in the ring. Kanyon:  You love me, you hate me, you'll never forget me!  I am the KING OF BATTA BING!  And I will make everyone of you FEEL THE BANG!!! Kanyon continues to cut his promo in the ring when we go to the back.  We see Terry Taylor talking to Big Van Vader.  He then gives him an envelope which Vader opens and finds money.  Vader then heads toward the ring.  In the ring Kanyon has his back to the entrance making fun of a guy in the front row when Vader attacks. Big Van Vader pinned Kanyon with the Vader Bomb in 0:07:54. Rating: ** 3/4 Vader attacks Kanyon from behind which starts the match.  Vader really dominated the match.  Kanyon did hit a swinging fisherman suplex, but Vader was in charge the rest of the match.  Vader hit an inverted Powerbomb followed by the Vader Bomb for the win.  Ric Flair made Roddy Piper submit to the Figure-Four Leglock in 0:08:34. Rating: * 3/4 In a battle of legends Ric Flair came out on top thanks to interference from William Regal.  Regal hit Piper in the head with a chair which set up the Figure Four and the win.  After the match Mean Gene caught up with William Regal as he returned to the back. Mean:  What in the hell were you thinking William Regal? Regal:  Excuse me, were you talking to me?  When you talk to me you will address me as Your Lordship.  As for what I just did that is simple.  The CEO had asked that I make sure that a miserable little toe rag like that worthless Scottish waste of space not get a victory over him.  That is what I did.  Now bugger off. Hudson:  I can't believe that Regal and the boss would conspire like that against Roddy Piper.  Tenay:  Doesn't surprise me one bit.  Ric Flair and his friends will do anything to get ahead and stay ahead of this company. Hudson:  Up next will be a cruiserweight battle between Chris Candido and Tony Mamaluke. Chris Candido pinned Tony Mamaluke with the Flying Headbutt in 0:08:52. Rating: ** 1/4 Chris Candido got a big win over Tony Mamaluke.  The match was going well until the Mamalukes showed up.  They tried to interfere but ended up hitting Tony with the stickball bat setting up the Flying Headbutt and the win for Candido. Hudson:  They sure didn't seem upset about hitting Tony with the bat Mike. Tenay:  That might have been some payback for earlier when Tony cost them the Tag Team Titles.  The FBI might be having some internal problems.  Let's go to the back where Mean Gene is with Scott Steiner. Mean:  Scott Steiner, on Monday night you had to defeat Ric Flair, now it is Arn Anderson.  Steiner:  Mean Gene, I took Flair's kid and stretched him.  I took the legendary Ric Flair and pinned him in the middle of the ring.  Now tonight I get to beat up Flair's best friend Arn Anderson.  You keep sending your cronies against me Flair and I will keep knocking them down.  This title is mine and will be until I decide to give it up.  Mean:  Up next Scott Steiner and Arn Anderson. Scott Steiner pinned Arn Anderson after a Frankensteiner in 0:08:51. Rating: * 1/2 (Scott Steiner retained the WCW United States Title.) Scott Steiner really dominated Anderson most of the match.  Anderson did hit a DDT and his Spinebuster but that wasn't enough.  Steiner didn't finish Anderson off with his Recliner he instead went back to his roots and hit the Frankensteiner for the win. Tenay:  A big win for Scott.  Scott is on the verge of becoming a major player here in WCW once again. Hudson:  With victories over both Flair and Anderson within a week that certainly helps.  Right now lets go to the back where Mean Gene is with Bill DeMott. Mean:  Bill, in a few minutes you will be going one on one with a crazed Man Beast Rhino.  Now on a personal level I want to see you break that jackass in half.  On a professional level though I have to wonder about your decision to take Rhino on. DeMott:  Well it won't be Bill DeMott in that ring Mean.  When I step through that curtain it will be Hugh Morrus that Rhino is fighting.  You have seen Morrus take more punishment then just about anyone in the sport Gene.  Tonight Morrus tames the man beast. Mean:  Well I hope you know what you are doing and aren't walking to your own funeral.  I know just about everyone in the locker room is behind you Bill.  Up next Hugh Morrus and Rhino. Rhino made Hugh Morrus submit to the Rhino Recliner in 0:11:39. Rating: ** 1/2 Hugh Morrus fought damn well against the bigger Rhino.  Rhino missed the gore early and Morrus hit the No Laughing Matter.  He was then distracted by the lovely Midajah.  Morrus brought her into the ring.  He gave here a powerslam and was about to hit No Laughing Matter when Rhino crotched him.  Rhino then hit a Razor's Edge type move that set up the Rhino Recliner and the win.  Rhino went to the floor and got into Hudson's face. Hudson:  Get out of my face.  I didn't do anything to you at all. Rhino shoves Hudson down and grabs a table.  He throws the table into the ring and sets it up in the corner.  He then points to Hudson and says this is for him.  He picks up DeMott and gores him through the table.  Hudson:  That son of a bitch.  I swear the locker room will find someone to take him out. Tenay:  Scott, settle down.  Lets go to the back where Mean Gene is with Bret Hart and Spike Dudley. Mean:  Tonight is what CEO Ric Flair is calling a qualifying match for you Spike.  You must beat Bret Hart tonight in the ring to get the last and final spot in a ten-man challenge on Nitro. Spike:  I don't usually do interviews Gene but this is a special occasion.  Tonight begins a three match series.  Tonight I step into the ring with one of the best in Bret Hart.  After I beat him I have to go through nine other men.  Then I have to beat Booker T or whoever else is the world champion.  Bret, get ready because the runt of the litter doesn't back down. Bret:  Spike, I respect you and everything you have done in this sport.  Tonight the best man will win.  Spike and Bret shake hands and both begin to leave but Gene stops Bret. Mean:  Bret, can you give us some info on Jim Neidhart's condition.   Bret:  Well yesterday I heard from him and he told me that he had a ruptured kidney and several broken ribs.  They are saying he will be out of action until at least Great American Bash. Mean:  Does this mean that you will be in singles action? Bret:  What that means is that I am starting a Rhino hunt as of Nitro.  Rhino, I will get you back for everyone in the locker.  For Scott Hudson, Gene Bennett and everyone else.  Rhino, the Excellence of Execution is coming for you. Mean:  Up next our main event, Spike Dudley and Bret Hart. Spike Dudley pinned Bret Hart with the Acid Drop in 0:10:37. Rating: *** 3/4 Spike Dudley will enter the ring with nine other guys on Nitro for a shot at the World Title at The Great American Bash.  The match was back and forth with Spike actually starting to come out on top.  He went for the Acid Drop but Bret threw him off into the official.  That brought out the Man Beast Rhino.  Rhino gored Bret into the corner.  Spike hit a low blow on Rhino and gave him the Acid Drop.  Rhino however just got up.  Spike turned around and was able to leapfrog over a second gore but Bret took it in the corner.  Rhino then ran to the back.  Spike gave Bret an Acid Drop and got the win.  We leave the air with Spike checking on Bret.
