Thunder comes on the air with footage from Nitro.  We see Booker T retaining his title, The Ministry dissolve before our eyes.  Disqo pinning Ric Flair.  New Tag Team Champions crowned.  Big Van Vader attack both Scott James a ref and announcer Gene Bennett.  We then go to ringside where Scott Hudson is with Mark Madden. Hudson:  We have just seen footage of Vader's rampage from Nitro.  We also have to talk about how Vader attacked Nick Patrick after his match at Spring Stampede.  Both Nick and Scott are in neck braces and have been released.  Gene on the other hand is still in the hospital with broken ribs and an injured back.  Something needs to be done about Vader Mark. Madden:  Well someone might tonight.  In our main event Rhino get a change to take Vader's match at Slamboree as they face off here on Thunder.  Personally I think Booker got lucky and whoever walks out as the winner tonight will be the champion at Slamboree. Hudson:  Also tonight Disqo faces Shane Douglas for the TV title.  Lets go to the ring for match up, Ray Traylor taking on the winner of the Ministries Battle Royal Gangrel.  Madden:  Here comes Traylor now, and he has a mic. Traylor:  When I am in the ring I want all you stupid fans to shut the hell up.  When you look at me you are looking at the most HARDCORE wrestler in WCW.  You people haven't known HARDCORE till you have served some HARDTIME with me.  Now tonight I am facing some freak that likes blood, which is good.  Because tonight he is going to have all the blood he wants, his own when I make that son of a bitch bleed! Ray Traylor pinned Gangrel with the Traylor Park Trash in 0:05:47. Rating: * This match went back and forth early on.  It seemed like Gangrel was preparing for a win when Traylor made his way to Gangrel's goblet.  Gangrel didn't see that Traylor had it and went in for the kill when Traylor threw the blood into Gangrel's eyes.  Traylor took advantage and hit the Traylor Park Trash and got the win.  After the match the lights went out, and when they came back up Traylor was covered in blood and Gangrel was laughing from the ramp.  We then go to Mean Gene who is with Disqo. Mean:  Disqo, last night you got what has to be your biggest win ever.  Tonight you take on Shane Douglas for the TV title. Disqo:  Gene, this isn't about the TV title, it is about respect.  I am tired of being a joke.  I am out there to get respect for now on.  Mean:  Well a victory over both Ric Flair and Shane Douglas in one week will get you respect.  Disqo:  Most people would, but not me Gene.  It doesn't seem to matter what I do, I will always be a comedy act.  Well there isn't going to be anymore dancing and joking around.  It is time for me to get serious. Mean:  There goes a man seeking respect, after the break Disqo takes on Shane Douglas. Shane Douglas pinned Disqo after hitting him with a foreign object in 0:04:06. Rating: ** (Shane Douglas retained the WCW TV Title.) Shane Douglas got the win in this match with help from his trusty chain.  Disqo didn't come out like his usually self.  He was very focused and didn't waste any motion.  The end saw C.W. Anderson and Chris Candido distract Disqo allowing Shane to pull out the chain and hit Disqo with it.  After the match the Triple Threat attacked Disqo which brought out Flair and Arn Anderson.  They cleared the ring.  They helped Disqo to his feet only to attack him.  Arn hit Disqo with the Spinebuster and then Ric locked in the Figure Four.  After several moments Flair releases the hold and grabs the mic. Flair:  SHANE DOUGLAS!  Tonight we take out two of your cronies.  I am then coming after you, this isn't over and probably won't be till one of us are out of this sport for all.  Shane, I will haunt you for a long time to come. Arn:  C.W., just because you are an Anderson doesn't mean you have what it takes to be a legend.  You are never going to be a top name by being Shane's lackey. C.W.:  So you weren't just Ric Flair's lackey?  You were never a world champion for one reason Arn, because you were always looking out for him, not yourself.  Let me make one thing clear right here and now.  Should there ever been a time where its Shane and I going for the title, it would be an ANDERSON walking out with the title.  Arn:  C.W., the reason I never held the world title is because I never wanted it.  I was happy being Ric's right hand man.  C.W., why don't you go to the back and get your other Triple Threat buddy Candido and I can show you why we have been the symbol of excellence for over twenty years. The Triple Threat (C.W. Anderson and Chris Candido) defeated Arn Anderson and Ric Flair when C.W. Anderson pinned Anderson with the Spinebuster Slam in 0:09:23. Rating: * 1/4 This match went back and forth as both teams wanted the win.  It finally came to a four way brawl.  Arn went for a DDT but Candido hit a flying double axhandle to his back.  This set up the Spinebuster from C.W. and the win.  Madden:  I don't believe it.  CW just pinned Arn with his own move.  I always knew CW was better and this proved it. Hudson:  Lets get to the back where Mike Tenay is with Roddy Piper. Tenay:  Roddy Piper, you have re-emerged on the scene here in WCW and so far is have been very successful.  Piper:  Mike, it is great to be back in action here.  I already beat that slapnut Jeff Jarrett, but there is one person around here that is upsetting me.  That man is Scott Steiner.  He wants to run around here like a psycho, well why doesn't he get into the ring with the Hot Scot tonight?  Tenay:  Roddy, are you challenging the Genetic Freak to a match here on Thunder? Piper:  You aren't as dumb as you look Mike.  Tonight I show him what it is like to be with a psycho! Tenay:  That match later tonight.  Up next it will be Tony Mamaluke taking on former champion Scott Taylor. Tony Mamaluke pinned Scott Taylor after the springboard DDT in 0:04:50. Rating: ** (Tony Mamaluke retained the WCW Cruiserweight Title.) Tony Mamaluke seems to be unbeatable as the Cruiserweight champion.  No one can stop him.  Taylor hit several moves and got a few near falls but in the end Tony hit a great springboard DDT for the win.  After the match Scott Steiner hit the ring but Mamaluke escaped.  Steiner then attacked Taylor.  At first Taylor was able to fight back a little but Steiner just too big and powerful.  Steiner hit several suplexs Steiner lines.  Steiner then locked in the Steiner Recliner.  Taylor screamed at first but then passed out. Steiner:  PIPER!  Did you see what I did?  I just sent another man to the hospital.  This will not end until I get a title shot Flair.  Tonight it is your friend Piper.  Next time it might be Arn or someone even closer.  Piper, get your dress wearing ass out here. Scott Steiner made Roddy Piper submit to the Steiner Recliner in 0:06:31. Rating: *** 1/4 Piper charged out and the two men really tore into each other.  Piper tried to brawl but was out brawled by Steiner.  Piper did manage to lock in his Sleeper, but Steiner countered with a jawbreaker.  Steiner then hit a belly to belly and locked in the Recliner for the win.  We then go to the back where The Hart Foundation are with Mean Gene. Mean:  Bret, on Monday night you lost to your brother and a man you helped train Lance Storm Bret:  Gene, there is nothing wrong with losing to a better team.  On Monday night they were the better team, but if we fought ten times, we would win eight out of those ten.  Jim:  They won because we got sloppy and over confidant.  We won't make that mistake again.  When we get a title shot we will get those titles back. In the background we see Danny Doring and Roadkill walk by.  Danny stops and walks up to the Hart Foundation. Doring:  Hold it right there Bret.  You two men are a little over the hill to be tag team champions.  You aren't young---and good looking like me.  So why don't you two team come to the ring later and we can get it on.  We are looking for some respect and we can only get it by defeating a bunch of over the hill losers like you. Roadkill:  CHICKENS!!! Bret:  You got it kid.  Just remember, you have a long career ahead of you so don't get too upset when we beat you. Mean:  Looks like we have another match signed for here tonight.   The New Hart Foundation defeated The Mamalukes when L. Storm made Vito submit to the Maple Leaf in 0:08:09. Rating: ** 3/4 (The New Hart Foundation retained the WCW Tag Team Titles.) The New Tag Team Champions retained their titles against the FBI's Mamalukes.  The Mamalukes at first were ahead with their brawling skills.  However Owen and Lance waited and finally took over with wrestling.  The end came when Vito missed a kneedrop and Storm locked in the Maple Leaf for the win. Hudson:  This has been a great Thunder so far Mark.   Madden:  That is for sure Scott.  So far the cruiserweight and tag team champions have retained their titles.  And I understand that up next Booker T will defend against Curt Hennig.  Hudson:  Mr. Perfect gets a title shot tonight and it is up next. Booker T pinned Curt Hennig with the Book End in 0:15:47. Rating: *** 3/4 (Booker T retained the WCW World Title.) Booker T and Curt Hennig had a great match tonight.  They were both in top form and really went to all ends trying to end the match.  Hennig even showed some more aggressive tactics by using the outside and camera cables.  During the match Jeff Jarrett, Ric Flair and Arn Anderson came out and watched on the ramp.  In the ring Hennig finally took over.  Hennig hit his jumping necksnap and then went for the Hennig Plex.  He was distracted by Flair and company which allowed Booker to recover and hit the Book End for the win.  On the ramp we see Flair shaking his head and going to the back. Mortis pinned Vampiro after hitting him with a foreign object in 0:06:18. Rating: ** 1/4 Mortis and Vampiro locked up after the two have fought on both Spring Stampede and Nitro.  They didn't even take time for their entrances they fought on the ramp.  They went all over the ringside area.  The end came when we see the Sinister Minister show up and hit Vamp with the skull staff Mortis carries.  Hudson:  This situation with the Ministry just gets weirder and weirder.  Are they done or is this some elaborate plan?  Madden:  Knowing the Undertaker I would go with plan Scott.  I understand that the former Ministries member Paul Wight will take on the Stinger next. Sting pinned Paul Wight after a flying bodypress in 0:07:32. Rating: * 3/4 Sting and Paul Wight went one on one in this match.  Sting went for the Scorpion Death Drop but Wight countered with a running powerslam.  Wight then went to the top but Sting slammed him off the top.  Sting then hit a flying bodypress for the win.  Wight was shocked by the loss and kind of just walked to the back stunned.  William Regal pinned Bill DeMott with the Cobra Neckbreaker in 0:07:50. Rating: ** 3/4 (William Regal retained the WCW United States Title.) William Regal took on a former champion in Bill DeMott.  DeMott was really looking hot in this match and in top form.  He seemed to be ready to win his first title in some time when he missed the No Laughing Matter.  Regal quickly hit his Cobra Neckbreaker for the win.  Danny Doring and Roadkill defeated The Hart Foundation when Doring pinned B. Hart after the Buggy Bag in 0:05:03. Rating: *** After their little verbal brawl in the back these two teams had a lot to prove to each other.  Both teams wanted a win, and in the end it was Doring and Roadkill pulling a huge upset.  The end came when Doring hit the Panty Drop Elbow on Neidhart taking him out.  Moments later Bret took the Buggy Bomb for the win.  Big Van Vader pinned Rhino with the Vader Bomb in 0:10:05. Big Van Vader suffered a back injury. He will be out for approximately 2 cards. Rating: *** 1/4 Vader and Rhino were just at each other's throats.  Rhino and Vader just don't like each other.  The end came when Rhino missed the gore and Vader took over.  Vader hit a big powerbomb and then the Vader Bomb for the win.  After the match Rhino attacked Vader and locked in the Rhino Recliner until Vader passed out. Hudson:  Looks like it will be Vader against Booker T at Slamboree.   Madden:  That means Vader will be world champion in less then a month.
