Nitro comes on the air with footage from Thunder.  We see Paul Wight and Vader destroy Spike Dudley and Booker T.  We then go to the announce table where Gene Bennett is with Scott Hudson.

Hudson:  Welcome to Nitro everyone.  Tonight we are on the home stretch to Slamboree.  Only six days away to the show.

Bennett:  Scott, this could be one of the biggest Pay Per Views of the year.  We have a lot of big matches signed already and more to come I am sure.  But tonight is a big night as well.

Hudson:  That is for sure.  Booker T teams with Spike Dudley to take on Paul Wight and Big Van Vader.  Also in a ten-man elimination match the FBI's Little Guido and the Mamalukes team with Jeff Jarrett and Arn Anderson to take on Curt Hennig, Lash LeRoux, Scott Taylor, Bill DeMott and Disqo.

Bennett:  After the attack on Thunder on their partners Steve Blackman teams with Danny Doring to take on the tag champions.  All that and much more.

Hudson:  Lets go to the ring where Chris Candido is taking on Just Joe.

Just Joe pinned Chris Candido after a small package in 0:05:12.
Rating: *

Just Joe continues to stun people here in WCW as he upset Chris Candido.  Candido dominated the match and Joe didn't get any offense in.  Candido hit his flying headbutt but didn't cover him.  He mocked Ric Flair by going for the Figure Four which was countered by Joe into a small package and he got the win.

Bennett:  JOE WINS, JOE WINS, JOE WINS!

Hudson:  Candido is going crazy in the ring.  Joe looks like he just won the World title.  Lets go to the back where Mean Gene is with Curt Hennig's team.

Mean:  Guys, this team seems to have no real bond.  The only thing really linking you to each other is the opposing team.

Hennig:  Well our hatred for the other team is enough to keep this team going.  These four men are some of the best but are over looked because they don't look like stars.  Scott Taylor here usually has the fans on their feet.  Disqo here is a great athlete that is look down upon because of his gimmick.  Same goes for Bill and Lash.  Well tonight we prove that you can't judge a book by it's cover.

Mean:  This should be a great match.

Elimination Match:
FBI (Big Vito, Johnny the Bull and Little Guido Maritato), Jeff Jarrett and Arn Anderson beat Curt Hennig, Lash LeRoux, Scott Taylor, Bill DeMott and Disqo 5
 falls to 4:
x Disqo beat Vito via the Last Dance in 0:07:22
x L. Guido beat Disqo via the Kiss of Death in 0:09:04
x Taylor beat Johnny the Bull via an enzuigiri in 0:11:10
x L. Guido beat Taylor via the Kiss of Death in 0:12:30
x L. Guido beat LeRoux via the Kiss of Death in 0:14:19
x Jarrett beat Curt Hennig via the Stroke in 0:16:33
x DeMott beat L. Guido via disqualification in 0:17:07
x DeMott beat Anderson via the No Laughing Matter in 0:19:08
x Jarrett beat DeMott via the Stroke in 0:21:59
Survivors: Jeff Jarrett
Rating: **

In a ten-man elimination match the man with all the Stroke came out on top.  Disqo drew first blood as he beat Big Vito early on.  Moments later Little Guido hit him with the Kiss of Death and got the win.  As Disqo was heading to the back the Triple Threat attacked him and beat the hell out of him.  Little Guido was the iron man for his team eliminating three men.  Jeff Jarrett however was the winner and did gain momentum on his way to Slamboree as he defeated Curt Hennig and Bill DeMott with the Stroke.

Bennett:  A big win for Double J here Scott.  I don't know if Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig can handle a Double J on this winning streak.

Hudson:  Either way that match could be a show stealer.

Bennett:  Scott, I have an announcement.  Years ago Slamboree was subtitled 'A Legends Reunion.  Well it will be that again this year.  I am proud to announce two former NWA Champions will face off at Slamboree.  We will see Harley Race and Dusty Rhodes face off.

Suddenly the Theme to 'Space Odyssey 2001' as Ric Flair comes to the announce table.

Flair:  Who let that old fat man Dusty and that bald jackass Harley Race on my show?  I didn't authorize this.  I WON'T ALLOW IT!!

Bennett:  Well I got news for you Naitch, you aren't the only one around here with power.  There is someone above you and they made the match.  There are two things you can do about it Ric, nothing and like it.

Flair:  Well I am the CEO around here and I will do something about, you just wait and see.

Flair storms to the back as we go to break.

The New Hart Foundation defeated Danny Doring and Steve Blackman when O. Hart made Blackman submit to the Sharpshooter in 0:03:16.
Rating: * 3/4
(The New Hart Foundation retained the WCW Tag Team Titles.)

After what happened on Thunder Danny Doring and Steve Blackman tried to win the tag team titles.  This however wasn't a great idea as they didn't gel as a team and Storm and Hart dominated before forcing a submission from Blackman.  On the outside Lance Storm locked in the Maple Leaf.  This brought out Roadkill and Brian Christopher for the save.  We go to break with Christopher and Roadkill helping their partners.

Gangrel pinned Vampiro with his special move in 0:02:32.
Rating: * 3/4

Gangrel got a big win over Vampiro when he sprayed blood into his face.  There wasn't much to the match.

No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Ray Traylor pinned Mortis after an elbowdrop in 0:08:41.
Rating: *** 1/2
(Ray Traylor retained the WCW Hardcore Title)

The WCW Hardcore Champion Ray Traylor kept his title with help from several superstars.  Traylor and Mortis fought to the back where Rhino was getting a cup of coffee.  Mortis bumped into him and Rhino snapped.  He spun around and gored Mortis into a garage door.  Meanwhile from behind Gangrel attacked Ray Traylor.  Rhino continued his attack on Mortis till Sting got involved which brought in Vampiro.  During this brawl security came and separated everyone.  Traylor went over and dropped and elbow on an unconscious Mortis for the win.

Bennett:  That was pure chaos.  Those six men will face off in single matches at Slamboree but it broke down here tonight.

Hudson:  Don't forget we still have Thunder before the Slamboree, who knows what will happen.

Bennett:  Up next C.W. Anderson takes on Bret Hart in singles action.

We go to the back where we see C.W. getting ready the Triple Threats locker room.  William Regal then walks in holding a briefcase.  All three men get ready to fight.

Regal:  Hold on there fellows.  I come in peace.  You see, I have a problem with that little toe rag Scott Steiner.  Now our CEO has given me the right to book Scott into any match I want.

Douglas:  What does that have to do with us?

Regal:  Well I would like the three of you to take out Scott Steiner.

Douglas:  Hey that is a big order to say the least.  Scott is insane and well we don't want to get involved.

Regal:  Well would this (Regal opens a briefcase full of money) change your mind?

Douglas:  The three of us against Scott Steiner?  You got it.

Regal:  I don't care if you win or lose, just make sure he doesn't make it to Slamboree sunshine.

We go to break with Regal handing the case to Douglas.

Bret Hart pinned C.W. Anderson after a small package in 0:04:49.
Rating: * 1/4

Bret Hart returned to singles action for one night as he took on C.W. Anderson.  They went back and forth with Chris Candido distracting Bret every chance he got.  The end came when C.W. went for his Spinebuster which Bret countered into a small package for the win.

Sting and Shane Douglas battled to a draw in 0:10:00.
Rating: * 1/2
(Shane Douglas retained the WCW TV Title.)

The second member of the Triple Threat Shane Douglas defended his TV title against Sting.  This of course was a ten-minute time limit match since it was for the TV title and it went that long.  Shane early on tried to keep Sting on the mat with chin locks and sleepers but that didn't work.  We then saw Shane call out the Triple Threat which Sting quickly took care of.  It was the distraction for Rhino that helped Shane keep the title.  Sting did hit the Scorpion Death Lock but wasn't able to make the cover before the time limit.  Rhino then entered the ring and Gored Sting before leaving.  We then go to the back where Jaime Knoble is with Mike Tenay.

Tenay:  Jaime Knoble, you are a former Cruiserweight Champion here in WCW.  The current champion is Tony Mamaluke and it seems like no one can beat him.  Do you look to perhaps return to that division.

Knoble:  Mike, I have been there and done that.  I am looking to hopefully get into TV title conten---

We see Rhino come through the curtain and run into Knoble.

Knoble:  Hey, this is my time.

Rhino:  NOW IT'S MY TIME!

Rhino attacks Jaime with a right hand that floors him.  Rhino then throws Knoble over a table into road agents Fit Finlay and Terry Taylor before leaving.

After the break we see that Jaime Knoble is in the ring.

Knoble:  Rhino, you want to jump me from behind.  Why don't you come down here right now.

Hudson:  For Jaime's sake I hope Rhino doesn't come out here.  Rhino is a monster and Jaime isn't quite ready for this step.

Bennett:  Well it looks like here comes Rhino, and Jaime better be ready for pain and suffering.

Rhino made Jaime Knoble submit to the Rhino Recliner in 0:03:35.
Rating: * 1/4

Rhino made short work out of an overzealous Jaime Knoble.  Knoble hit a few rights and a dropkick as Rhino entered the ring but that was it.  After Knoble submitted to the Recliner Midajah entered the ring and started putting the boots to Knoble while still in the Recliner.  This brought out Sting who Rhino ran from.  Sting however did get a hold of Midajah and gave her the Scorpion Death Drop as we went to break.

We come back and see Scott Steiner in the ring.

Steiner:  Regal, you British FA**OT!  Go ahead and bring out those jackasses the Triple Threat.  I am ready to hurt them and you.

Suddenly William Regal's music starts.

Regal:  Listen here sunshine, since I am booking you I thought a special ref was needed.  Namely myself.  Lets go boys.

The Triple Threat runs to the ring with Regal right behind.

Handicap-Match with William Regal as the special Ref:
The Triple Threat (C.W. Anderson, Chris Candido and Shane Douglas) defeated Scott Steiner when Candido pinned S. Steiner with the Flying Headbutt in 0:08:51.
Rating: ** 1/4

As suspected this was really a four on one match.  Steiner did however start to take over.  From the back Disqo ran out and pulled Shane Douglas out.  Shane and Disqo fought to the back.  However that still left C.W., Candido and Regal.  C.W. hit the Spinebuster followed by the Flying Headbutt from Chris Candido for the win which of course was a fast count.  William Regal then locked in the Regal Stretch that he wouldn't break.  Security and police finally came in and broke it up.  As we go to break we see the two biggest competitors in WCW, Big Van Vader and Paul Wight, heading to the ring.

Spike Dudley and Booker T defeated Paul Wight and Big Van Vader when Spike Dudley pinned Wight with the Acid Drop in 0:10:54.
Rating: * 1/4

This match was between four men that would be in singles action at the PPV.  Booker T carried most of the match for his team.  Wight and Vader finally got him in their corner and dominated him.  It was a hot tag that set the end up.  Out of nowhere Booker hit the Book End on Vader and Spike hit the Acid Drop on Paul Wight for the win.

Bennett:  It looks like Booker and Spike have the momentum going into Slamboree this weekend.

Hudson:  For Mean Gene, Mike Tenay----

Bennett:  Look what is going on in the ring!

We see that Vader and Wight are up and attacking their opponents.  Vader gives Spike a huge inverted powerbomb while Wight hit Booker with the Final Cut as we go off the air.
