Nitro comes on the air with fireworks and shots of the crowd.  We then go to the announce table where Scott Hudson is with a returning Gene Bennett.

Hudson:  Welcome to Nitro everyone.  I am here with Gene Bennett who is returning from a violent attack by Big Van Vader.

Bennett:  Thank you for reminding me Scott.  This will be an action packed Nitro tonight.  Three titles on the line as the TV title, Cruiserweight and Tag team titles are on the line.

Hudson:  Also Little Guido takes on Scott Taylor, Sting and Vampiro lock up as well.  Lets go back to Thunder and see how our first match came about.

We see footage from Thunder where Spike Dudley upsets Jeff Jarrett.  We then see Curt Hennig laughing at Jeff and Jeff telling Curt that he will face Spike on Nitro.  We then go to the ring.

Spike Dudley pinned Curt Hennig with the Acid Drop in 0:05:23.
Rating: **

This match is really dominated by Hennig most of the match.  Spike hits a few moves early on but Hennig is in firm control.  Hennig hits the Hennig Plex but Spike's leg hits the ref knocking him out.  This brings out Jeff Jarrett.  Hennig and Jeff brawl while Spike recovers.  Spike then grabs both men giving them both an Acid Drop.  Spike stands on both men while the official, the returning Scott James, makes the three count.

Bennett:  Spike Dudley just beat both Jeff Jarrett and Curt Hennig!  Spike the Giant Killer is back!

Hudson:  That has to put Spike in line for a title shot of some kind I would think.  But since it was Ric Flair's buddy Jeff Jarrett Spike might be punished.

Bennett:  Speaking of Ric, let's go to his office.

We see Ric sitting at his desk and William Regal sitting on the other side.  Behind Ric stands Arn Anderson.

Flair:  Ok William, I know our plan didn't work on Thunder.  Tonight though I have an even better idea.  Big Van Vader is returning from a mild injury and is in a foul mood.  How about we put him in the ring with Scott.

Regal:  Listen here sunshine.  You got me into this mess and you best get me out of it.  If my record and my image is besmirched because of that psycho Scott Steiner, I don't know what I will do.

Anderson:  You better watch that tone son before you say something that you regret.

Regal:  Listen Ric, just make sure Scott doesn't make it to Slamboree or else.

Regal gets up and leaves.

Flair:  Arn, make sure Vader knows what to do.

We go to break with Anderson leaving the office.

Little Guido Maritato pinned Scott Taylor with the Kiss of Death in 0:07:51.
Rating: * 1/2

After the bitter feud between Taylor and the FBI lately Taylor took on the leader Little Guido.  This match was back and forth but the experience of Little Guido paid off.  Guido moved out of the way of a Senton and hit the Kiss of Death for the win.

After the break we see Mean Gene in the ring with Disqo.

Mean:  Disqo, for the last few weeks you have been on a quest for respect.

Disqo:  Gene, I have done just about everything this company has wanted me to do.  Back in 1996 they wanted me to do that JOB for Jackie and I refused.  However a year later I did it.  What did that get me?  Nothing.  Then they throw me a bone by giving me the TV title.  I thought I was starting to get over so what do they do, they make me do the JOB for a wrestler debuting with the company.  I floated around for a while and then found myself in the Wolfpac.  The Wolfpac started to get over so what do they do, they pull that out from underneath me.  Again I was lost only to find a nice feud with me and Lash LeRoux against The Mamalukes and Tony Marinara now Tony Mamaluke.  Again I thought it was starting to get over so they pull that out from underneath me.  I was then teamed with the Filthy Animals but the same thing happened as before and when the Boogie Knights got over they did the same thing.  I used to wonder who I pissed of in this company but I found out a few weeks ago.

Mean:  What do you mean?

Disqo:  You know as well as I do that Ric Flair has always been a powerful man here in WCW.  I never thought of it before, but it makes since now.  I don't know what I ever did to Ric Flair but he hates me.  I will never be over in this company while he has power.

Suddenly the Triple Threat music plays as Shane Douglas comes out.

Shane:  Join the club Jackass.  Flair has burned just about all of us.  You want respect, how about you drop the dancing and wrestle.

Disqo:  How about you go back to the back and shut your damn mouth.  I am tired of this Gene.  This is what I am talking about, all I want is a little respect.

Shane:  Well how about this.  You want respect right?  Well what if you find two partners, if you can, and meet the Triple Threat on Thunder.  If you win I will give you a title shot at Slamboree.

Disqo:  Partners or not I will kick your ass on Thunder.  This isn't about any God damn title its about respect!

We go to break with Shane laughing at Disqo.

Shane Douglas pinned Paul Wight with the Franchiser in 0:09:00.
Rating: 1/2*
(Shane Douglas retained the WCW TV Title.)

After the break it was the TV title match as Shane Douglas took on the Giant Paul Wight.  This match was back and forth but somehow Shane hit the Franchiser and got the win.

Sting pinned Vampiro with the Scorpion Death Drop in 0:07:40.
Rating: * 1/2

Sting picked up a big win in this match.  It went back and forth but Sting reverse the Nail in the Coffin into the Scorpion Death Drop and got the win.  After the match the man beast Rhino hit the ring and attacked Sting.  Rhino gored Sting and was about to lock in the Rhino Recliner when Mortis made the save.  Mortis and Rhino exchanged rights and lefts leading up to our next match.

Rhino made Mortis submit to the Rhino Recliner in 0:08:59.
Rating: **** 1/4

In the best match either man has had in a long time Rhino got the win with help from Vampiro.  Mortis wouldn't be denied in this match as he kicked out of the gore twice.  Mortis did get some offense in as he hit a second rope rocker dropper and the Flatliner at one point.  However when Vamp got on the apron it distracted Mortis enough to allow Rhino to hit a third gore and lock in the Recliner for the win.  After the match Vamp and Rhino continued their attack but Sting returned to save Mortis.

Tony Mamaluke pinned Chris Candido with the Guillotine Legdrop in 0:06:45.
Rating: ***
(Tony Mamaluke retained the WCW Cruiserweight Title.)

The Cruiserweight champion continued on his winning streak as he defeated Triple Threat member Chris Candido.  Tony did get some help from Disqo as he hit the Last Dance on Candido setting up the Legdrop from Mamaluke.

Bennett:  That isn't the way for Disqo to get respect.  Disqo needs to do it the old fashion way and earn it.

Hudson:  Personally he did just earn a little with me.  One thing that Disqo was always missing was a little respect for himself.  He allowed too many people push him around, but he isn't going to allow that any more.  Up next the Hart Foundation takes on Brian Christopher and Steve Blackman and the team of Danny Doring and Roadkill.

Triangle Match:
The Hart Foundation and Steve Blackman and Brian Christopher battled to a double countout in 0:11:57.
Rating: *

This match was a six man fight really.  The ref really didn't know who was legal.  Two teams fought on the outside and he just counted them out ruling the match a draw.  While officials tried to separate the teams on the outside Owen Hart and Lance Storm attacked Danny Doring and Roadkill in the ring locking in the Maple Leaf and Sharpshooter before retreating through the crowd from Blackman and Neidhart.

Disqo pinned Gangrel with the Last Dance in 0:04:08.
Rating: * 1/2

Disqo picked up the win in this match over a very aggressive Gangrel.  Gangrel missed a flying elbow which set up the Last Dance and the win for Disqo.

The New Hart Foundation defeated Bill DeMott and Lash LeRoux when L. Storm pinned LeRoux after hitting him with a foreign object in 0:10:29.
Rating: **
(The New Hart Foundation retained the WCW Tag Team Titles.)

The New Hart Foundation got another win here over Lash LeRoux and Bill DeMott.  LeRoux and DeMott did put up more of a fight then expected and the champs even had to pull out some dirty tricks.  The end came when Owen hit LeRoux with the Canadian Flag setting up the pinfall. After the match the Mamalukes and Little Guido attacked Lash and Bill.  This brought out Scott Taylor for the save.

After the break we see Mike Tenay with Taylor, LeRoux and DeMott.

Tenay:  Bill---

DeMott:  WE CAN'T KEEP DOING THIS!  NO MORE!  FBI AT SLAMBOREE THE THREE OF US AGAINST THREE OF YOU!  No more back fighting just face to face.

Tenay:  Sounds like Bill and company are getting ready to go to war.

No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Roddy Piper made Ray Traylor submit to the Sleeper in 0:05:23.
Rating: **

The next match saw the king of hardcore come up short against the Hot Scot.  After being put to sleep by Roddy the lights went out.  When they came up Ray Traylor was covered in blood once again.

C.W. Anderson pinned Jeff Jarrett with the Spinebuster Slam in 0:06:46.
Rating: *

C.W. got the biggest win of his career as he defeated the former World Champion Jeff Jarrett.  The match went back and forth when Curt Hennig appeared at ringside.  He hit Jeff with his own guitar setting up the Spinebuster and the win for C.W.

After the break we see Hennig in the car park getting ready to leave when Jeff Jarrett attacks him.  The two exchange rights and lefts until security shows up.

Hennig:  You want some Chosen One.  Slamboree Jeff, you and me.

Jarrett:  That is fine with me slapass.  Your ass is mine.

We then go to the ring where Vader and Scott Steiner are locking up in the main event.
