Sting pinned Masato Tanaka with the Scorpion Death Drop in 0:04:28.
Rating: ***

Sting and Tanaka had a good match here in the opening of Nitro.  Tanaka hit a tornado DDT early and got the near fall.  Tanaka then hit Diamond Dust but was distracted by the Sinister Minister.  Tanaka then went for the Roaring Elbow, which Sting ducked and kicked Tanaka in the gut.  Sting quickly hit the Scorpion Death Drop for the win.  We then go to the back where Mean Gene is with Jeff Jarrett.

Mean:  Jeff Jarrett, on Thunder you got into the Undertaker's face and you took got the Last Rites for you trouble.

Jarrett:  Listen you balding slapnut, I don't want to hear it.  I warned the Undertaker that tonight he would be wearing this six string and it's going to happen.  Tonight I get his undead ass in the ring and he will find out just who has all the STROKE around this damn company.  So choke on that.

Mean:  Looks like it is Jeff Jarrett and the Undertaker next.

The Undertaker pinned Jeff Jarrett with the Last Rites in 0:07:48.
Rating: ** 3/4

This was a match no one thought they would see but were glad they did.  The fans cheered Jarrett but only because they hate the Undertaker so much.  Jarrett didn't go down without a fight, but the Undertaker was too much and hit the Last Rites for the win.  Taker was about to give Jarrett a second one when Ric Flair hit the ring with a chair.  The Undertaker quickly retreated to the back.

Flair:  WHOO!  Jeff Jarrett, I am here to bury the hatchet.  We go way back, and we have had our differences, but tonight could be a new beginning for us.  I am the CEO and I am going to need someone right by my side that I can trust.  You are the Chosen One Jeff.

Jarrett looked at Flair confused.

Flair:  Listen Jeff, you don't have to tell me tonight, but you are the Chosen One, just remember that.

Big Van Vader pinned Vampiro with the Vader Bomb in 0:04:14.
Rating: *

Vader continued his feud with the Ministry as he took on Vampiro.  Vamp seemed to have the match well in hand when Mike Awesome came out and distracted him.  Vader was quick to give him a power bomb and then the Vader Bomb for the win.  After the match Vamp went after Awesome and the brawled as we went to break.

After the break we see that the Boogie Knights are in the ring.

Disqo:  BOOGIE KNIGHTS IN THE HOUSE!  I just have one question, who let the dogs out?

Mafia music then plays as Tony Mamaluke come out.

Mamaluke:  Glen, nice to see you are ok after everything with Jeff Jarrett a few weeks ago.  But you ran up quite a few medical bills.  Now my father was nice enough to lend you the money, even after the past we have with you.  And what do you do?  You again try to stick my dad.

Disqo:  Listen Tony, you know it takes a while to get that kind of money.

Mamaluke:  That is too bad, because I once again had to get Johnny the Bull and Big Vito to collect, and this time you aren't going to get away like last time.

The Mamalukes come out and come to the ring.

Disqo and Alex Wright defeated The Mamalukes when Disqo pinned Johnny the Bull after a takeover suplex in 0:07:31.
Rating: *

Disqo and Wright went right after the Mamalukes, but the Mamalukes were too much for the newly reformed team.  Big Vito and Johnny kept Disqo in the ring for the entire match.  Johnny and Vito went for a double backdrop which Disqo countered by kicking Johnny down with a boot and giving Vito the last Dance.  Disqo quickly gave Johnny a takeover suplex and got the win.  The Boogie Knights quickly escaped to the back.

Little Guido won a non-title match against the Cruiserweight champion Jaime Knoble.  Knoble was in control early in with high risk moves, but Guido took advantage of a missed flying elbow.  Guido locked in the fujiwara but Knoble managed to get to the ropes.  Guido then took over with a slingshot rocker dropper for another near fall.  Guido then got cocky and missed a slingshot Legdrop when he jawed with the fans.  Knoble then went for the Jumping Tombstone, but Guido countered it into a Tombstone of his won.  Guido picked Knoble up and gave him the Kiss of Death for the win.  Big Sal came in and gave him a huge splash before leaving.

After the break we see Hulk Hogan get the victory over Bret Hart on Nitro. We then go to the ring where the two are locking up.

Hulk Hogan pinned Bret Hart after a clothesline in 0:07:40.
Rating: **

Hogan and Hart were very aggressive in this match.  Early on Hogan's friend the Big Show came to the ringside area.  Bret ran into the ropes and Show tripped him.  This brought out Bret's tag team partner Jim Neidhart who attacked the Big Show.  Bret watched the fight on the outside and Hogan took advantage and clotheslined Hart in the back of the head and made a quick cover.  To make sure he got the win he hooked the trunks and put his feet on the ropes.  On the outside Neidhart got hit with the Final Cut from The Big Show.  Wight then went into the ring and gave Hart a Final Cut.  Hogan then took the mic.

Hogan:  Ric Flair, if you don't come out here right now I am going to have Paul here do what he did to Bennett to Bret.

Ric Flair comes out and starts to talk.

Hogan:  Don't say a damn thing.  Now tonight this man next to me gets a title shot do you understand me?

Flair:  Ok Hollywood, you got it.  I will fight The Big Show tonight, just let Bret out of the ring.

From over the guardrail out comes Vader who pulls Bret out of the ring.

Hogan:  Nice stall Flair, you saved Bret here, but there isn't going to be anyone to save you tonight.

Mike Awesome pinned Mikey Whipwreck with the Awesome Bomb in 0:12:17.
Rating: ** 1/2
(Mike Awesome won the WCW United States Title.)

After holding the US title for over two months, Mikey Whipwreck finally fell to the former World Champion.  Mike Awesome was on fire because of what the Ministry has done as of late to him.  Early on Awesome dominated Mikey with power moves, but Mikey took over after Awesome missed a frog splash.  Mikey then took over.  Mikey went for top rope Whippersnapper, but Awesome threw him off and Mikey hit the ref.  With the ref down the Sinister Minister came in.  He tried to throw a fireball at Awesome, but he ducked and the fireball hit Mikey right in the face.  Awesome tossed the Minister over the top and then gave Mikey the Awesome Bomb for the win and the title.

After the break we see Mean Gene with Mike Awesome.

Mean:  Mike Awesome, eight days ago you lost the World title, but you have gold once again.

Awesome:  Gene, this title doesn't mean a damn thing to me.  I don't care about titles, all I care about right now is getting to Superbrawl and ending the career of Vampiro.  I wasn't myself when I hurt him last time.  Now I am going to finish his ass off, because I am the Career Killer!

Mean:  I wouldn't want to be Vampiro at Superbrawl.

Ric Flair pinned Paul Wight after hitting him with a fire extinguisher in
0:10:11.
Rating: **
(Ric Flair retained the WCW World Title.)

Ric Flair retained his title in his first title defense.  This match was full of interference, but all from the Ministry.  During the match we see that there was a forklift in front of Ric Flair's dressing room where Ray Traylor, Booker T, the Hart Foundation and Vader were watching the match.  Flair was fighting everyone off but it was too much.  Finally the officials got the Ministry to go back to the back.  Wight was about to hit the Showstopper when Jeff Jarrett came out.  He swung at Show with a fire extinguisher, but Show ducked and nailed Jarrett causing him to throw the extinguisher.  Show pulled Jarrett into the ring and gave him the Showstopper.  He turned around right into the fire extinguisher from Ric Flair.  Flair quickly made the cover and got the win.  We leave the air with Flair helping Jarrett to the back.
