Hudson:  With Superbrawl only six days away this edition of Nitro should be a hot one.  A six-man tag team match between the Ministry and Team WCW has been signed.  Also Little Guido takes on Scott Taylor for the TV.  We have a four corners match between Demolition, The Hart Foundation, Fit Finlay and William Regal and The Mamalukes for a tag title shot.  That and much more here on Nitro.  Wait a minute, look there in the front row.  That is 'The Lethal Weapon' Steve Blackman, a martial arts expert.  Well Just Joe is in the ring, let's go.

Masato Tanaka pinned Just Joe with the Diamond Dust in 0:06:03.
Rating: ** 1/4

The opening match was between Tanaka and Just Joe was another example of Joe being just a step away from being a threat in WCW.  Joe got several near falls with schoolboys and small packages.  Joe tried for his Jumping DDT but Tanaka hit a release Northern lights suplex.  Tanaka then hit the Roaring elbow and the Diamond Dust.  From the back Vader ran out and gave Tanaka a lariat knocking him out of the ring.  Barry Horowitz and Just Joe then made the mistake of attacking Vader.  Vader destroys both men with double lariats and two double chokeslams.  He then gives both men powerbombs and Vader Bombs before leaving them in pain.

Little Guido Maritato pinned Scott Taylor with the Kiss of Death in 0:07:44.
Rating: *** 1/4
(Little Guido Maritato retained the WCW TV Title.)

Little Guido and Scott Taylor had a great match up here.  Scott Taylor has had several chances at the title and each time gets closer and closer.  Taylor got several near falls here.  The end came when Big Sal distracted Taylor while he was waiting for Guido to get up off the mat.  Guido took advantage and hit the Kiss of Death.

We then go to the back where Brian Christopher is talking with Jaime Knoble.

Brian:  Listen Jaime, I got the word straight from the CEO's office.  It's a done deal what you are going to be facing Mikey Whipwreck at Superbrawl.  But here is my idea.  I want revenge on the Ministry for putting me out so tonight how about we team up against Mikey and any member he wants to bring out with him.

Knoble:  And what is in it for you Brian?

Brian:  I get a title shot next Monday after you take out Mikey.

Knoble:  Ok, you got it.  Lets go now.

The Ministry (Gangrel and Mikey Whipwreck) defeated
Brian Christopher and Jaime Knoble when Whipwreck pinned Christopher after a flying sunset flip in 0:08:44.
Rating: ** 1/2

In a high flying match the Ministry picked up the win.  Brian and Jaime had good teamwork, but they just weren't the unit that the Ministry was.  Knoble gave Gangrel his Tombstone, but Mikey broke it up.  Moments later Brian tried to suplex Mikey into the ring, but he countered into a sunset flip for the win.  After the match Papa Shango and Mortis charged the ring and attacked the two cruiserweights.  This brought out Booker T and Scott Taylor for the save.  Scott Taylor's music started to play and he tried to hand out sunglasses to every so they could dance, but Brian Christopher just threw them at him.  The other three men then dance us to break.

Big Van Vader pinned Rhino with the Vader Bomb in 0:06:20.
Rating: *

Vader and Rhino faced off in a battle of monsters.  This was a hard-hitting match, but Vader just doesn't seem to be stoppable.  He ran over Rhino several times with lariats and Vader Attacks.  The end of the match came when Rhino missed a gore in the corner and hit the post.  Vader then hit the Vader Bomb for the win.  This brought out Little Guido and Big Sal who attacked Rhino.  Vader was furious and he attacked Guido who escaped, but Sal got hit with a lariat that lifted the big man right off his feet.

Four Corners Match:
Demolition drew The Mamalukes, Fit Finlay and William Regal and
The Hart Foundation:
x B. Hart beat Vito via the Sharpshooter in 0:05:02
x Neidhart beat Finlay via the Powerslam in 0:07:07
x double countout (Smash and B. Hart) in 0:10:46
Rating: **

In the match for number one contenders to the tag team titles this was a good match.  The Mamalukes fell to the Hart Foundation after the Boogie Knights came out and distracted them.  Jim Neidhart and Fit Finlay had an exchange that was as stiff as anything Scott Steiner could throw.  Neidhart however hit his powerslam for the win.  Then it was two teams that Team WCW has supported in the past few weeks.  These two teams have had many battles in the past and they didn't stop here.  The end came when Owen Hart and Paul Wight come out and interfered.  During a four-man brawl Wight pulled the top rope down which caused Smash to land head first on the floor.  Owen then pulled Bret out and gave him an Enzuigiri.  Neidhart and Ax went out and brawled with Wight and Owen but the ref counted Smash and Bret, the legal men, out.  Owen and Paul quickly went to the back after the damage was done.

After the break we see Mean Gene with Demolition, The Hart Foundation and Ric Flair.

Mean:  Ric Flair, these two teams were robbed if you ask me.

Flair:  MEAN--BY GOD-GENE!  WHOO!  It seems that our tag team champions are trying to pick who they fight.  Well they did just that, they picked BOTH teams.  At Superbrawl Revenge it will be the Hart Foundation verse Demolition verse Owen Hart and Paul Wight.  This will be an elimination match, so the way I see it the Ministry won't be walking out with those tag team titles.  WHOO!

Mean:  Guys, looks like justice will be served at Superbrawl.

Bret:  Gene, we are tired of my rotten little brother Owen and that big goof he runs around with.  They have been a thorn in our side and we will end that at Superbrawl.

Smash:  Gene, we do one thing good, and that is hurt people.

Ax:  For years the path of destruction has been weaving all over the world and now it has found it's way here to WCW.

Smash:  AND WE ARE GOING TO HURT PEOPLE!

Mean:  Looks like they are ready for Superbrawl.  I understand that Pamela Paulshock is with Mike Awesome and Lance Storm.

Pam:  Lance, Mike, tonight the commissioner Hogan has signed the two of you to fight.  How do you feel about it?

Storm:  I am a two time TV Champion Pam, and it is time that I take the next step.  Tonight Mike Awesome you find out that I was born to wrestle and bred to win.

Awesome:  Is that so Lance?  Well I was born to hurt people, and you might just find yourself go through a table as an example to Vampiro.

Storm:  Let's settle this in the ring.

Pam:  That match is next.

Lance Storm defeated Mike Awesome by countout in 0:03:36. Lance Storm injured his left knee. He will be out for approximately 5 cards.
Rating: * 3/4
(Mike Awesome retained the WCW United States Title.)

As the two men locked up Hollywood Hogan came to ringside.  The end was a strange one when Storm hit a missile dropkick on Awesome sending him to the floor.  Storm grabbed his knee the second he hit Awesome.  While the ref checked on Storm Hogan hit Awesome in the head with a chair and gave him the big leg drop.  The official then counted Awesome out.  The trainer came out and checked on Storm as we went to break.

After the break we see Vampiro in the ring.

Vamp:  Mike Awesome, six days until I smell your flesh burning.  Six days until you feel your flesh burning.  That makes me the most dangerous man in WCW.  And if any of you in the back want to find out why come to the ring.

Vamp waits and no one comes out.

Vamp:  Just what I thought, no one.  You are all scared of me and the Ministry.  So maybe some of these fans want some.

Vamp leaves the ring and gets into the face of Steve Blackman.

Vamp:  What about you?

Vamp slaps Blackman and then suplexs him into the ringside area.

Steve Blackman pinned Vampiro with the Pump Kick in 0:10:54.
Rating: ** 3/4

Steve Blackman, a man that was here to watch the event, ended up defeating Vamp in a martial arts classic.  Vamp went for the Nail in the Coffin, but Blackman floated over and ran into the ropes.  Vamp turned around right into the Pump Kick from Blackman and he got the win.  The lights then went out.  When they came back up the ring and Blackman were covered in blood.

The Ministry (Mortis, Sting and The Undertaker) defeated
Booker T, Ric Flair and Ray Traylor when Mortis pinned Booker T with the Flatliner in 0:06:27.
Rating: ** 1/4

The main event was a six-man match between the Ministry and Team WCW.  This match was a battle as both teams wanted momentum going into Superbrawl.  Flair and Sting battled most of the time while Traylor and Booker T fought Mortis and Undertaker.  The Undertaker gave Traylor a chokeslam on the floor taking him out of action.  This left Taker and Mortis double-teaming Booker.  Booker tried his best to stay a step ahead but the numbers were too much.  The end came when Booker knocked Taker over the top rope but turned right into the Flatliner and got the win.
