Nitro comes on the air with footage of Ric Flair's final goodbye to the WCW fans.  We see him standing atop the Triple Cage, covered in blood waving goodbye.  We then go to a limo pulling up outside the arena.  We see Cyrus, Paul Heyman, the New World Champion Rhino, the New US Champion Little Guido and the new Tag Team Champions the Young Blood all get out.

Heyman:  Look at you boys.  This is what ECW is all about, giving the young guys a break.  Jaime, you got buried the entire time you were in WCW but here in ECW you are a star.  Why you ask?  Because you deserve it.  Same goes for you Johnny.  You are better then having to chase around Disqo Inferno acting like you are in the mafia.  You are a star and it was finally allowed to shine last night.  Guido, I told you a long time ago I would make you a star and I have.  Last but not least is you Rhino.  From the mean streets of Detroit.  No one ever thought you would amount to anything.  You were just a big dumb animal.  Well now you are a big dumb animal with a World Title.  You boys are the back bone of ECW.  But lets not forget one major piece of our puzzle---THE NATURE BOY!  WHOO!  But he isn't here quite yet.  Don't worry he will be though.  Let's get inside.

We then go to the ring where Ray Traylor is defending his newly won Hardcore title against Steve Blackman.

This was a short match with only a kendo stick and nightstick used as weapons.  Neither man really got out of the starting blocks so to speak.  It ended out of the blue as Traylor hit the Traylor Park Trash.  After the match Traylor continued to attack Blackman which brought a man over the guardrail.  He spun Traylor around and gave him a belly to belly suplex.  The camera then picks up that it is KEN SHAMROCK.  Shamrock grabs Traylor's leg and locks in the Ankle Lock.  Traylor screams in pain and begins to tap out.  Finally Shamrock lets go and Traylor rolls to the floor.  Shamrock does his scream to the crowds delight.

No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Ray Traylor pinned Steve Blackman with the Traylor Park Trash in 0:03:53.
Rating: 1/2*
(Ray Traylor retained the Hardcore Title.)

Hudson:  What a way to start off Nitro folks.  We have seen the new champions already and now a new superstar.

Styles:  Well I don't know if Ken is with WCW or ECW.  We all know where he has been.  While we are talking about comings, lets talk about goings.  Several WCW and ECW superstars have left the company.  Brian Christopher, Mikey Whipwreck, DDP, The Undertaker, Danny Doring and Roadkill have all left the company and Ric Flair has been forced to retire from WCW forever thanks to the loss last night.

Hudson:  We all would like to send out best wishes to all the superstars on their careers.  Now onto what we have tonight for the fans Joey.

Styles:  Well the NEW Too Cool team of Scotty Taylor and Lash LeRoux will challenge the new champions the Young Blood.  William Regal fresh off a win over Shane Douglas will face the man he took that title from C.W. Anderson.

Hudson:  Speaking of Anderson, Arn will face Curt Hennig in a first blood match to end their feud one and for all.  We will also see Sting take on Vampiro tonight.

As Scott is talking we see a limo pull up.  Out comes a bunch of beautiful ladies and we see a man back out with a green robe with Nature Boy on the back.

Styles:  What is this all about?

Hudson:  Could that be the Nature Boy?

We then go to break.

After the break we hear the familiar music of Space Odyssey 2001.  Then a man backs out of the back area and we see blond hair and the robe.  He turns around to reveal that it is really Jerry Lawler.  He does his 'strut' to the ring and takes the mic.

Lawler:  WHOO!!  Listen to that folks because that is the LAST time you will EVER hear it in an ECW building.  I proved who the best champion ever was and it was ME!  I ran him out of this damn company like the coward he was.  Because I am a kiss stealing wheeling deal son of a----

voice:  SLAPASS!

From the back out comes Jeff Jarrett.

Jarrett:  I have had enough of this crap.  I have had it with you Lawler and this whole damn company.  Enough is enough.

Lawler:  Who the hell are you?  You wouldn't be in this damn business if it was for me.  I gave you a job every time you needed one.  I got you your job back with McMahon because we were friends.  But since coming to WCW you have changed boy.

Jarrett:  BOY?  Listen Lawler, you keep it up and I am going to come in there and kick your royal ass.

Lawler:  You come to this ring and I am going to do what your daddy should have done a long time ago, teach you some respect.

Jarrett:  You can try.

Jarrett throws his mic down and charges the ring and we have our next match.

Jerry Lawler picked up yet another win, but this time with help from his friend and new US Champion Little Guido.  During the match Guido came to ringside to cheer on Lawler.  Jarrett went to the top and hit a flying bodyblock but the official went down.  This brought Guido in who attacked Jarrett and gave him the Kiss of Death.  The official got up and saw Lawler hit the Piledriver and counted the three count.

Jerry Lawler pinned Jeff Jarrett with the Piledriver in 0:04:44.

We then go to the back to ECW's locker room.

Cyrus:  That is how you get things done boys.  Why is it you don't have any gold Shane?  Oh yeah you couldn't beat Regal could you?  What about you Chris?  Oh yeah you haven't got a title shot because you don't deserve one, you have been too busy defending the 'honor' of your lovely wife Tammy.  What about you D-Von, Buh Buh Ray.  Why don't you have gold?  Wait, I remember now you couldn't beat a team thrown together like Steiner and DeMott.  No Laughing Matter---that is what your performances have been lately.  If you all don't step up to the plate like Guido, Lawler, Rhino and the Young Blood did you won't be around much long.

Cyrus leaves and everyone looks kind of stunned.  Suddenly Douglas and Candido both storm off.  Spike looks around and then tips a table of drinks over before leaving.  We then go to break.

It looked like we were going to have new tag team champions as the NEW Too Cool were on a roll against the Young Blood.  Johnny and Jaime came in over confident and it showed.  Too Cool made one mistake and it cost them.  Taylor went for a dropkick but Jaime moved and Taylor hit Lash off the apron.  Taylor turned right into a Tombstone from Knoble.  JTB then hit his Spinning Flying Legdrop and got the win.  After the match the Young Blood went after blood as they attacked both Taylor and Lash with a chair.  They then put Scotty's arm in the chair and stomped it.  Lash quickly covered his arm with his body but the damage was done.

The Young Blood defeated Too Cool when Johnny the Bull pinned LeRoux with the Spinning Flying Legdrop in 0:08:38. Scotty Taylor broke his arm. He will be out for approximately 5 cards.

(The Young Blood retained the Tag Team Titles.)

Arn Anderson defeated Curt Hennig to end their feud.  During the match C.W. came to ringside and tired to interfere but Curt stopped him with a standing dropkick.  Also during the match Kanyon came to ringside.  He was wearing the same thing he had after his match with DDP.  He didn't interfere, just came out and sat down on the ring steps.  IN the ring C.W. finally got his opening and cracked Hennig with chair r which knocked him right into Arn's DDT.  Between the two moves Curt was busted open and we had our winner.

First Blood Match:
Arn Anderson defeated Curt Hennig in 0:05:29.
Rating: *

Hudson:  Well it looks like Arn is going to be considered the winner of that feud, but the big question is what is Kanyon doing down here?

Styles:  Scott that is the same look that was on his face after everything was done last night.  After throwing DDP off the cage and then Diamond Cutting Kim he got that look and just stumbled off.

Hudson:  It doesn't even look like he slept at all.  We will go to break and hopefully we can get some answers when we come back.

After the break we see that Kanyon is still sitting on the steps and that Disqo is heading out.

Disqo:  Chris, Chris it is me Glen.  Come on man snap out of it.  It wasn't your fault what happened.  That was suppose to happen.  DDP just can't stand to do the JOB.  Come on Chris.

Disqo looks over at the announce table shrugs and starts to the back when Kanyon stands and attacks him.  He throws DI into the ring and we have our next match.

Kanyon destroyed DI.  Disqo didn't have much offense at all.  He wasn't even ready for the match and Kanyon seemed almost possessed.  Nothing was stopping him.  He hit the Kanyon Cutter and then the Flatliner to end it.  After the match Kanyon went to the floor and got a chair.  He raised it over his head and was about to hit DI, who was trying to cover his head, when Kanyon just stopped.  He stopped midswing.  He dropped the chair and rolled out of the ring.  He then walked to the back and DI started to pull himself up.

Kanyon pinned Disqo with the Flatliner in 0:04:01.
Rating: * 1/4

Hudson:  What was that all about?

Styles:  I don't know.  It is like Kanyon was pushed over the edge when he shoved DDP over the edge.

Hudson:  Well up next we have the TV title match.

William Regal continued his dominance over the competition as he defeated C.W. Anderson.  It was a back and forth match with C.W. getting several close pinfalls with a superkick and a DDT.  C.W went for another DDT but Regal countered with a knee to the midsection.  He then hit a butterfly suplex followed by locking in the Regal Stretch for the win.

William Regal made C.W. Anderson submit to the Regal Stretch in 0:08:17.
Rating: *** 1/4
(William Regal retained the TV Title.)

After the break we see Shane Douglas and Chris Candido come to the ring.

Douglas:  SHUT THE HELL UP EVERYONE!  We are out here for a reason.  People in the back want to say we aren't leaders.  They want to say we don't deserve to be in ECW!  I MADE THIS DAMN COUNTRY!

Candido:  There is a team in the back that has become known as No Laughing Matter.  But that doesn't fit.  There is a laughing matter, that being their skills.

Douglas:  So DeMott, Steiner, get your asses out here so you can get FRANCHISED!

DeMott and Steiner come out and we have our next match.

No Laughing Matter got right back on the winning side of things after an upset last night.  Steiner and DeMott had trouble early on with the fired up ECW performers.  However soon Douglas and Candido become over confident.  Douglas hit a belly to belly and took too much time taunting the crowd.  This allowed Steiner to tag DeMott and that was the beginning of the end.  DeMott took both men out and hit both with the Moonsault and actually got a double pin.

No Laughing Matter defeated Shane Douglas and Chris Candido when DeMott pinned Douglas with the Moonsault in 0:10:48.
Rating: *** 3/4

We go to the back where Booker T is getting a cup of coffee.  He has a large bandage on his forehead.  Cyrus walks by.

Cyrus:  Nice fashion statement Booker.

Booker:  What did you say sucka?

Cyrus:  I said nice [Cyrus taps the bandage] fashion statement.  Looks like you got your ass kicked last night----oh yeah you did.  Now if you excuse me I have a World Champion to go talk to.

Booker:  When you see him tell him to shine that belt up for WCW because will are coming for him.

Cyrus:  Are you challenging Rhino?

Booker:  I sure am.

Cyrus:  Well he will meet you in the ring tonight.

When we come back from break we see the Cruiserweight champion Lance Storm in the ring.

Storm:  If I can be serious I want to issue an open challenge to any cruiserweight in the wrestling world.  I don't care who you are.  I have beat every Cruiserweight in WCW and ECW so anyone out there show up and I will wrestle you.

Rap music plays over the speakers and out comes former WCW competitor Rey Misterio Jr.

RM:  You want the best cruiserweight in the world well you are looking at him.  How about you fight me and I bring that title back around my waist.

Storm:  You got it.

Storm and Rey tore the ring up and the fans loved it.  What a match they had.  Early on it was Storm keeping Rey on the mat.  Rey however took over with his flying skills.  Rey got a two count off a missile dropkick and another from a leg lariat.  Rey went to the top and went for a flying Frankensteiner but Storm caught him.  Storm stumbled and they both went over the top rope.  Rey recovered first and hit a Frankensteiner from the apron.  Back in the ring Rey went for the Rough Rider but Storm moved.  Storm went for a superkick but Rey moved and Storm crotched himself.  Rey then placed Storm and to top and went for a top rope Frankensteiner but Storm countered it into the Maple Leaf.  Rey fought for almost a minute but finally tapped out.

Lance Storm made Rey Misterio Jr. submit to the Maple Leaf in 0:13:14.
Rating: **** 1/4
(Lance Storm retained the Cruiserweight Title.)

Hudson:  What a match that was.  Lance Storm continues to impress.

Styles:  We lost several stars last night but what a couple that have debuted here tonight.  With Ken Shamrock and now Rey Misterio Jr., I think will pick up around here.

Hudson:  Folks we still have the World Title match between Rhino and Booker T but when we come back it will be Vampiro verse Sting.

Sting and Vampiro had an ok match.  There wasn't much to say about the match except that Sting countered a body block into a powerslam for the win.

Sting pinned Vampiro after a powerslam in 0:06:23.
Rating: * 1/4

Rhino retained his title in a tough match.  It went back and forth with both men getting near falls.  Booker had a lot of high risk offense in his game plan to keep the much stronger Rhino in check.  Booker pulled out the missile dropkick and even the Harlem Hangover to try and keep Rhino down.  However Rhino wouldn't go down.  Rhino managed to gore Booker several times during the match.  The end of the match came when Booker missed a second Harlem Hangover.  Rhino quickly locked in the Rhino Recliner and Booker tapped out.

Rhino made Booker T submit to the Rhino Recliner in 0:13:18.
Rating: *** 1/4
(Rhino retained the World Title.)

From the back Cyrus came out.

Cyrus:  YES!  This title is ours until someone beats us and NO ONE CAME BEAT US!

Suddenly a familiar drum beat fills the arena and sparks fill the stage.

Hudson:  I COULDN'T BE COULD IT?  IS IT REALLY HIM?

From the sparks out steps Goldberg.

Styles:  OH MY GOD IT IS, IT IS GOLDBERG!!

Goldberg:  Rhino, I only have two words for you-----YOU'RE NEXT!!!!!!!!!

We leave the air with Cyrus going nuts in the ring.
