Nitro comes on the air with footage from Souled Out.  We see clips of all three falls between Lance Storm and Booker T.  We also see The Undertaker standing over a fallen Bret Hart. Footage of Vampiro debuting and also of CEO Gene Bennett being put through a table by Paul Wight.

Hudson:  Welcome to WCW Nitro everyone.  We are a night removed from Souled Out and we have huge news already.

Tony:  As you saw at the beginning of the show the CEO Gene Bennett was injured at the pay per view.  He is injured, but he will be ok.  He sent us a report earlier today, and it has huge news.

Hudson:  Tony, I think the report will speak for itself.

We go to a hospital room where Gene is laying in a bed with a neck brace on.

Bennett:  Hello everyone, as you can see I am pretty banged up here.  I have an announcement to make, and it's a tough one to make.  I am going to resign as the CEO of WCW.  Tonight the new CEO will debut, and it will be a big debut.  He will debut in his first match in WCW as he faces the new WCW Champion, Sting.  Thank you again everyone for your support.

Hudson:  There you go folks, a new CEO will debut tonight here.

Voodoo child plays suddenly as Hollywood Hulk Hogan and The Undertaker come to the ring.

Tony:  What in the hell do they want?

Hogan:  What did I tell you brotha, I told you no one could stop us.  We got rid of Bennett and no matter who he has as picked we can get rid of him tonight.

Taker:  Not only did we get rid of Bennett, but Vader too.

We see Vader coming over the guardrail and into the ring.  Vader quickly entered the ring and took both Hogan and Taker down with a double lariat.  Both men went to the floor.

Vader:  Undertaker, do you hear that?  For whom the bell tolls Taker.  How bout you get your ass in the ring because it's VADER TIME!

Big Van Vader pinned The Undertaker with the Vader Bomb in 0:10:34.
Rating: *** 3/4

Vader picked up the win over the Undertaker when Hollywood's interference backfired.  Hogan tried to hit Vader with a chair but Vader ducked and Taker took the shot.  Vader quickly hit the Vader Bomb and got the win.  After the match Hogan and Undertaker had a short argument before going to the back.

Hudson:  Looks like Hogan and the Undertaker aren't getting along real well after the big lost.

Tony:  Well can you blame Taker for being upset when Hogan blew that match.

Mortis pinned Disqo with the Flatliner in 0:05:22.

(Mikey Whipwreck retained the WCW United States Title.)

Mikey Whipwreck faced the only man able to defeat the Ministry at Souled Out in Ray Traylor.  Traylor seemed to have the match when Mikey went for a last ditch sunset flip.  Traylor was keeping his balance until Jeff Jarrett came out and nailed Traylor with the guitar.  Mikey then got the win after Traylor fell back.

Booker T pinned Vampiro with the Book End in 0:13:21.

Vampiro debuted in WCW but ran against a man on a mission in Booker T.  Both men controlled at different times, and Booker fought off Mortis during the match.  Vampiro went for the Nail in the Coffin, but Booker floated over and gave Vamp the Book End as he turned around and Booker got the win.

Tony Mamaluke pinned Jeff Jarrett with a school boy roll-up in 0:08:18.

Tony Mamaluke got a big upset victory over Jeff Jarrett after Ray Traylor interfered in the match.  Jarrett dominated and had the match won several times but never made the cover.  Finally from the back Traylor come out and distracted Traylor.  Traylor and Jarrett argued on the apron and Jarrett tried to hit Traylor who ducked and dropped Jarrett throat first on the top rope.  Mamaluke rolled him up and got the upset victory.  Traylor and Jarrett argued as we go to break.

After the break we see the footage of Bret Hart making the challenge for the tag title match tonight.  We see that Owen and Wight are in the ring.

Owen:  Bret, you are so damn jealous that I was chosen to be in the Ministry and not you.  That I am a multiple champion here in WCW and you aren't.  It is eating you up inside that I have gold and you don't.  Now you are going to drag the family into this huh?  Well I don't care who you brought, because I am the King of Harts---WHOO!

Bret comes out and stands on the ramp way.  Then his former WWF Tag Team Champion tag partner Jim Neidhart comes out.  The Original Hart Foundation is back together as this match begins.

The Ministry (Owen Hart and Paul Wight) defeated The Hart Foundation when Wight pinned Neidhart with the Showstopper in 0:10:39.
Rating: **
(The Ministry (Owen Hart and Paul Wight) retained the WCW Tag Team Titles.)

The Hart Foundation dominated this match as they kept Owen in the ring.  Neidhart showed no compassion as he just bullied Owen.  Bret meanwhile kept Owen on the mat and tried to talk to Owen.  Finally Bret gave up and just beat the hell out him.  Owen fell victim to the Hart Attack, but Show came in and broke it up with a headbutt.  He drug Owen over and made the tag.  The Foundation didn't back down and began to rock the Big Show when Owen tripped Bret.  This allowed Show to give Neidhart that Showstopper for the win.  The Show went for second one on Neidhart, but Bret made the save with a chair.

Mike Awesome pinned Masato Tanaka with the Awesome Bomb in 0:07:00.
Rating: ** 3/4

Mike Awesome and Masato Tanaka once again faced off here in WCW.  They picked up right where they left off just brawling all over.  Awesome got the win when he hit a top rope Awesome Bomb.  This brought out Sting, Mortis and Vampiro from the back.  They tossed Tanaka to the floor and went after Awesome.  Like we saw last night Vamp was trying to get revenge for what Awesome did last time Vamp was in WCW.  They again tried to put Awesome through a flaming table but Tanaka made the save.  Awesome then grabbed a mic.

Awesome:  Vampiro, you want to try to end my career?  You want to play with fire?  Well you playing with fire when you mess with me.  How about we play with fire at Superbrawl Vamp?  You and me in a flaming table match.  The winner is the man that didn't go through the table.  I will see you burn in hell at Superbrawl!

After the break we see the Ministry come to the ring.

Hogan:  All right send out this new CEO who ever he is.  It doesn't matter to me because he won't be around long.  As the commissioner I want this match started now.

Suddenly the theme from Space Odyssey 2001 played.  Out came the one and only Nature Boy Ric Flair.

Flair:  WHOO!  I HAVE RETURNED!  Hulk Hogan, you are looking at the NEW CEO!  WHOO!  Tonight baby I make it 16 times I hold that title belt when I beat the man I once respected in Sting.  But as CEO I want to make sure that title history isn't disgraced.  So I want you to get all of those goons you have in the, along with yourself, and get to the back. And if I see any of you back out here I will strip Sting of the title.  WHOO!

Hogan:  Flair, you just sealed your fate.  If Sting doesn't finish you off, I want your ass in the ring on Thunder, but I think Sting will finish you off tonight.  Come on boys, let Sting do this alone.

Ric Flair pinned Sting after a small package in 0:23:19.
Rating: ** 1/2
(Ric Flair won the WCW World Title.)

Ric Flair won this match and his 16th world title by rolling Sting up when Sting attempted a suplex.  This match was another classic between these two historic opponents.  Flair didn't seem to have a bit of ring rust on him as he and Sting exchanged chops.  Sting took over however and controlled for well over ten minutes.  Sting had him locked in the Scorpion Death Lock but Flair got to the ropes somehow.  Sting then went for a suplex which Flair countered into the small package and got the win.  Sting was furious and went to work on Flair with a chair.  From the back out came Booker T for the save.  Booker then helped Flair to his feet.  From the back out came Ray Traylor and the Hart Foundation.

Flair:  Hogan, you got your match on Thunder.  But it will be a ten-man tag team match.  You bring any of your goons you want because you will be facing Booker T, the Hart Foundation, Ray Traylor and myself.  WHOO!
