Thunder comes on the air with footage of Team Hollywood and the Ministry joining forces. We see Big Van Vader strapped to an Undertaker symbol and raised above the ring. We then go to the car park where several limos have pulled up. Out steps the Ministry. Hollywood: What did I tell you? Together no one can stop us and they won't even try. Tonight I have booked all of our friends in matches. Undertaker, you are going to take out Ray Traylor tonight, not much of a work out. Sting, you and Mortis will wear down Rhino and Steiner before Souled Out. Hugh, I want you to make sure Mikey keeps that US Title because you are going to face Tanaka. Mikey my boy, tonight you teach Bret Hart not to mess with the Ministry and of course it is non-title. I have two special friends lined up to take out Vader. And Awesome, don't forget about your mystery opponent. Taker: Hogan, remember the deal we made and everything will be just fine. Hollywood: Oh I remember big man, and don't you worry, everything will be in place after tonight. At the announce table. Hudson: What an army that just arrived at the building Mike. Tenay: That is for sure Scott. The matches announced by Hollywood aren't the only matches here tonight. Also signed is a preview of that 10-man cruiserweight match as Alex Wright, Tony Mamaluke, Brian Christopher and Spike Dudley face off. Hudson: Also Lo Down face off against Fit Finlay and William Regal and Little Guido and Scott Taylor. Lets go to that four corners match!
Four Corners Match: Tony Mamaluke picked up the win and gained yet more momentum going into Souled Out Sunday night. It was all four men in the ring one fall to the finish and Spike Dudley proved that he is insane. He attacked everyone in the ring and the result was a three on one. Tony Mamaluke took advantage while Wright and Christopher were working on Dudley to attack Wright. He gave Wright a DDT and then hit his Guillotine Legdrop for the win. Hudson: A big win for Tony Mamaluke going into this 10-man cruiserweight match Mike. Tenay: That's right Scott. I am getting word that one of the two mystery men for that match will be here tonight. So that will clear up a few things before Souled Out. We go to break. When we come back we see The Mamalukes along with Bryan Clark and Rikishi in the ring. Vito: Listen up Ministry. The four of us are tired of you boys running the show. Clark: That is why we are calling you any of you punks out from the back. Rikishi: The Ministry needs to learn some respect. The arena goes black and spotlights show Gangrel, Papa Shango, Owen Hart and Paul Wight come out on the ramp. Owen: People like you will never learn will they? You can't stop us and it is useless to try. We have all the power. But being the nice guy that I am I will give you three seconds to leave the ring before we destroy you. Vito: We ain't goin' anywhere and you want to know why? Because we have the biggest grapefruit in WCW. Owen: Ok, you just signed your own death certificates.
The Ministry (Gangrel and Papa Shango), Owen Hart and Paul Wight
defeated The Mamalukes, Bryan Clark and Rikishi when Gangrel pinned
Vito with the Impaler in 0:03:01. In a war that saw no order, the Ministry picked up a win when Gangrel gave Vito that huge DDT move he calls the Impaler. The punishment didn't end there though. Paul Wight gave Rikishi a huge Show Stopper. Owen locked Bryan Clark in the Sharpshooter while Papa Shango gave Johnny the Bull a Shoulderbreaker. We go to break with the Ministry laughing at the other men. After the break we see the four men from the last match being loaded into ambulances and taken away from the building. Hudson: Is that a sign of things to come Mike? Tenay: I don't know but if I were the boys in the back I would be worried. The Ministry is on a tear and looks ready to destroy everyone. Hudson: Billy Kidman is in the ring awaiting a new cruiserweight here in WCW.
Jaime Knoble pinned Billy Kidman with the Jumping Tombstone
Piledriver in 0:12:21. Jaime Knoble debuted tonight and got a big win over Kidman. This was a great showing for Knoble who matched Kidman move for move. Kidman thought he had the pin after a swinging bulldog, but Knoble got to the ropes. Kidman then went for a moonsault, but Knoble moved. Knoble quickly hit his Jumping Tombstone for the win. Hudson: What a debut for Jamie Knoble! Tenay: Jamie Knoble is one of the best cruiserweights out there and it is great for him to be back in WCW. Hudson: Right now I understand Mark Madden is with the CEO Gene Bennett. Madden: Gene, you are the CEO of this company, but it looks like the inmates are running the asylum. Gene: You are almost right Mark. This has got out of hand and something needs to change. Madden: With Hollywood as the commissioner what can you do? He now has the Ministry aligned with him. You would be a fool to fight the Ministry by yourself. Gene: You are right, and to be honest there are many men left to fight with are there? I have Vader, Bret Hart and Ray Traylor that I can trust. Booker T and Lance Storm both are hell bent on become or retaining the TV Title. That is about it. Nothing against the cruiserweights, but they are all fighting for that title. Disqo is out thanks to Adams and Jarrett. Clark is fighting Adams and one won't be around after Sunday. Lo Down thinks that I am against them because of their religious believes. The Mamalukes are there for me as is Tanaka. So I don't have much to work with to be honest. Madden: So are you going to give up and give Hollywood the company? Gene: Mark, I would rather die. I will not give up because I know the fight in the men I talked about and they wouldn't give up. I know that deep down in guys like Sting and Chris Kanyon are men ready to fight. Something will have to give at Souled Out Mark. Madden: One more question Gene. Gene: What? Madden: Do you plan on adding anyone to the main event at Souled Out or will it be a pure Ministry main event. Gene: I thought about it, but I know that Sting and Mike Awesome will have a great main event, so why mess with it. But the winner will have to go through everyone I throw at them Mark. Thank you.
The Foreign Connection (Fit Finlay and William Regal) defeated Lo
Down when Finlay pinned D-Lo with the Tombstone Piledriver in 0:06:01. The Foreign Connection took a step closer to getting a tag title shot as they defeated Lo Down. The match was high paced and was very close. The end came when D-Lo went for a moonsault on a stunned Finlay. Finlay however was as stunned as thought and was able to catch D-Lo and give him the Tombstone and get the win. After the match we saw Mortis, Gangrel, Papa Shango and Sting all attack the men. Sting gave Finlay and shot to the leg with his bat that dropped him like a rock. Sting then locked in the Scorpion Death Lock. Meanwhile in the background the other men are being destroyed as we go to break. After the break we see Lo Down and William Regal helping an injured Fit Finlay into an ambulance. Regal: Listen up Ministry. The three of us don't take kindly to your little attack. So why don't you bring your asses to the ring Sunday night at Souled Out. Tiger: Hold it right there Mr. Regal, we don't want to be involved with this war against the Ministry. D-Lo: Tiger, you hold it. We are tired of wearing these stupid ass get-ups. Chaz: Hell, you are from Canada. Get the hell out of here before we kick your ass. D-Lo: Ministry, you best recognize who the hell you are going to be facing at Souled Out. We then go to footage of Guido helping Scott Taylor seemingly get a win over Tony Mamaluke on Nitro. Taylor and Guido then fought and Guido ended up costing Taylor the match. We go to the ring where two of the ten men in the cruiserweight match are locking up.
Scott Taylor pinned Little Guido Maritato with the Worm in 0:05:05. Scott Taylor got a win as he hit the Worm on Guido. Guido had the match won, but Big Sal had the ref distracted. This allowed Taylor to recover, hit a bulldog and then the Worm for the pin. Hudson: Scott Taylor goes into Souled Out with momentum after that big win. Tenay: Scotty has to be one of the favorites for that match, but with one man not being announced who knows who has the upper hand. Hudson: Looks like the Undertaker is on his way to the ring so his match must be next after this break.
The Undertaker pinned Ray Traylor after hitting him with a fire
extinguisher in 0:04:45. In a short match up Jeff Jarrett, seemingly trying to gain favor with The Ministry helped The Undertaker win this match. Traylor was in charge of the Undertaker when he sandwiched the ref and the Undertaker in the corner. This allowed Jeff to bring a fire extinguisher out and give it to Taker. Taker hit Traylor and got the win. After the match Jarrett along with Undertaker continued the attack until William Regal and Lo Down ran out for the save. Hudson: Looks like Jeff Jarrett is trying to get in with Hollywood once again Mike. Tenay: Well he calls himself the Chosen One but he hasn't been Chosen by Hollywood as of yet. Hudson: We might have talked to soon, lets go to the back. In the back we see Jarrett walking back through the curtain when Hollywood walks up. Hogan: Jeff, that was great. I have a favor to ask, you are friends with Brian Adams right? Jarrett: Yeah the two of us got rid of Disqo for everyone didn't we? Hogan: Well I need you and big Brian to do something for me. We go to break with the two men talking. After the break we see footage of Sting defeating Rhino on Nitro. We then go to the ring where Sting and Mortis are facing Rhino and Scott Steiner.
The Ministry (Mortis and Sting) defeated Rhino and Scott Steiner when
Mortis pinned S. Steiner with the Flatliner in 0:05:34. The Ministry continued their domination on Thunder as they defeated Rhino and Scott Steiner. The match was a brawl as neither team cared about winning, they just wanted to hurt each other. The end came when Rhino and Sting were on the floor. Steiner got distracted at Paul Wight and Owen Hart in the stands, this allowed Mortis to give Steiner a low blow and then the Flatliner for the win. Mortis and Sting attempted to continue the attack but from the back out came Bret Hart. Hudson: The Ministry is dominated everyone here, if it wasn't for a few guys that have helped each other we might be able to have Souled Out Sunday night Mike. Tenay: Look at this, its Jarrett and Adams leaving Hollywood's office, that can't be good. Hudson: Lets go to the back where Mean Gene is with Lance Storm and Booker T. Mean: Booker T, you are about to put that TV Title on the line against Lance Storm once again. Booker: Well Gene, this is what the people want and I wrestle for those people. Tonight we finish this Storm. Storm: That's right Booker, we do finish and I get MY title back. Booker: Your title? It sure doesn't look like your title now. Storm: Well I am from Calgary--Alberta Canada, I was born to wrestle and breed to win. Booker: Well we don't have to wait till the ring. Mean: Gentlemen please. You are both final athletes, settle this in the ring. Storm: And I will. Mean: Things are going to be hot in the TV title match.
Lance Storm and Booker T battled to a double countout in 0:05:36. As Booker T was coming to the ring Lance Storm attacked and the two men brawled to the ring. In the ring they picked up where they left off on Nitro. Both men were on fire and hit their signature moves. Storm hit a springboard dropkick and locked in the Maple Leaf, but somehow Booker got to the ropes. Moments later Booker gave Storm the Book End, but Storm kicked out. Booker then gave Storm a cross body and but it took both men over the top rope. On the floor the two men went from great wrestling to great brawling. The ref counted both men out and the match was over. The two however didn't stop the brawling. Security came out and separated the two men. Mean Gene then came out. Mean: Gentlemen please stop this. Booker: Listen Lance, why don't we do it one more time at Souled Out no time limit, no DQ, no countout. Two out of Three falls. Storm: You got it Booker. But lets make it interesting. Three different matches with your little street fight you just offered me. A submission match will be the second. And IF it goes to the third we go into a cage match. Booker: Ok you got it Lance, but don't cry when I beat you. Hudson: What a match just signed for Souled Out, two out of three falls. Tenay: With that match signed it might just steal the show from that cruiserweight match. Hudson: Up next Hugh Morrus tries to keep the US Title around the waist of Mikey Whipwreck by taking out Masato Tanaka before Souled Out.
Hugh Morrus pinned Masato Tanaka with the No Laughing Matter in 0:10:22. Two big men went at it and once again the Ministry came out on top. Hugh seemed to be on his way to a loss when Mikey came out. This distracted Tanaka and gave Hugh time to give Tanaka a low blow. Morrus gave Tanaka a reverse DDT and then the No Laughing Matter for the win. Mikey hit the ring and along with Morrus double teamed Tanaka. This brought out Bret Hart and our next match started.
Non-Title-Match: Bret controlled Mikey in his return. Bret really didn't look back after taking control. Mikey lost this match after submitting to the Sharpshooter. The Undertaker came out on the ramp but didn't interfere. Hudson: That is the first time tonight the Ministry hasn't dominated and left people laying Mike. Tenay: That is a good thing, because Bret will have to be at his best at Souled Out to defeated The Undertaker. Hudson: Look at this, Jeff Jarrett and Brian Adams are coming to the ring. After the break Jarrett and Adams are in the ring. Jarrett: Listen all of you slapnuts. We are here for one thing, and that is that fat slapass Vader. Adams: How about all of you fans have a nice warm glass of shut the hell up. Vader, get your fat ass out here. Vader charges the ring and the match is on.
Handicap-Match: Vader charged the ring and this was a two on one match and Jarrett and Adams got the win with help from Hollywood Hogan. Vader was winning when Hogan came out. Vader went to the floor and went after Hogan and the two brawled. Vader knocked Hogan down and went back into the ring. Hogan got up and tossed a pair of brass knuckles to Adams. Adams gave Vader a shot to the head and he stumbled right into the Stroke and got the win. After the match Hollywood joined in on the attack and the three men stomped away. From the back out ran CEO Gene Bennett to try and save his friend, but he was no match for three pros. The three men then focused on Gene. Hogan tossed a chair into the ring while Adams and Jarrett prepared to give him a spiked Piledriver on the chair. This brought out Ray Traylor, Bret Hart and the returning Disqo from the back to make the save. Hudson: I can't believe Hogan and company were about to do that to the CEO of this company. Tenay: What I don't understand is why Gene would even go into the ring. Those were three men that could be glad to take him out. Hudson: Having talked with Gene often in the back I know that he is very emotional and seeing his friend Vader getting destroyed must have been too much. Tenay: Well it is a good thing that Hart and Traylor were around to help. When we come back it will be Mike Awesome against a mystery opponent. We come back from break and see Hollywood in the ring with Mike Awesome. Hogan: The following contest will be Mike Awesome's toughest match in his career. Mike, I hope your ready. I give you the toughest man I have ever meet, JUST JOE! Just Joe bring drug to the ring by Barry Horowitz. Barry throws Joe into the ring and the match begins.
Mike Awesome pinned Just Joe with the Awesome Bomb in 0:00:44. In a short match where Joe got a whole two punches in the entire match. Awesome gave him a frog splash and then gave him the running Awesome Bomb for the win. Hogan: What a match Mike, you are the man! Hogan holds Awesome's arm up in victory and then pulled Awesome into a short clothesline. From the back out came the rest of the Ministry and joined in on the attack. We go to the back where Gene is watching with Vader, Ray, Bret, William, and Lo Down. They begin to get up and Gene stops them Gene: Hold up guys, where are you going? That could be a set up or something. Even if it isn't a set up Mike Awesome didn't want help when he was part of the Ministry. If he wants help, he can ask. Tonight he is on his own. Back in the ring the Ministry was destroying Awesome. Hogan: Looks like we had to trim a little fat around here. Mike, you are a great champion, but we have a better man in mind. At Souled Out you will be finished off. From the ceiling the same symbol used on Vader lowered. Mike Awesome was strapped to it and was raised up as we go off the air. |
