Thunder kicks off with footage of Mike Awesome laying Bret Hart out at the end of Nitro.  We then go to the announce table where Scott Hudson is with Mike Tenay.

Hudson:  We have just seen footage of an attack on Bret Hart.  Due to that attack Bret will not be with us tonight.  Also tonight we have a tag team title match with The Foreign Connection facing the team of Owen Hart and Paul Wight.

Tenay:  Lets not forget Owen got that match because he beat Vader with the help of Paul Wight and Hollywood Hogan.  Lets not forget, the new WCW TV Champion Booker T tonight faces General Rection.

Hudson:  Mike, Hollywood Hogan has just shown up, let's go to the back.

We see Hollywood Hogan, Paul Wight and Owen Hart get out of a limo.  As they get out, Vader comes into the picture.

Vader:  Hogan, you think you can get rid of me?  Check your watch boy, its Vader TIME!!

Hogan:  Vader, remember if you touch me I will fire your ass.  I think you have more important things to be doing then yelling at me, since your match isn't going to be easy.  After all you are facing Scott Steiner and Rhino.  Now get out of my face before I really get mad.

Back in the arena.

Hudson:  Did I hear that right?  Vader verse Scott Steiner AND Rhino?

Tenay:  It looks like it.  But right now we have our first match in the ring.

Just Joe and Barry Horowitz defeated The Ministry (Gangrel and Papa Shango) when Joe pinned Gangrel with the Jumping DDT in 0:03:14.
Rating: 1/4*

In one of their first wins, and a real showing for Just Joe, they picked up the win.  Just Joe showed great skills and got the win with the Jumping DDT on Gangrel.  After the match the lights went out.  We see Papa Shango spray sparks out of his Voodoo stick and when the lights come back up both Joe and Barry are covered in blood.  We go to break with both men lying in the blood.

After the break we see Just Joe and Barry Horowitz in the back.

Joe:  Listen Barry, I did this tag team thing, but I think its time to move on.

Barry:  You are right, and I am going to lead you brother.  With the rumored Cruiserweight division returning you are perfect.

Joe:  I am not a Cruiserweight though Barry.

Barry:  You will be, trust me.

Back in the arena.

Hudson:  What in the hell was that all about?  Did we just see the Winner retire Mike?

Tenay:  I think so Scott.  We have another tag team match in the ring.

Lo Down defeated The F.B.I when D-Lo pinned L. Guido after a running power bomb in 0:09:02.
Rating: * 1/2

Lo Down got a big win over the F.B.I as Tony Mamaluke and Little Guido argued most of the match.  Guido and Mamaluke did hit several double team moves, but they always argued over who would continue with the match.  The end came as Guido finally threw Mamaluke out of the ring, and it gave time for D-Lo to catch Guido turning around.  Guido then took the running power bomb and got pinned.  After the match Guido yelled at Mamaluke and the two nearly came to blows, but Big Sal broke it as we went to break.

After the break we see former TV Champ Fit Finlay in the ring with Ray Traylor.

Ray Traylor pinned Fit Finlay after a spinebuster slam in 0:05:26.
Rating: * 1/2

In a good showing for both men, Ray Traylor got the win.  Fit Finlay did hit a double stomp off the top, but Traylor managed to get to the ropes somehow.  The end came as Finlay was going for a flying axhandle.  Traylor caught him and gave him a spinebuster and got the win.

After the break we see footage of the Cruiserweight action on Nitro between Kidman and Scott Taylor.  We now go to the ring where Billy Kidman is locking up with Brian Christopher.

Billy Kidman pinned Brian Christopher with the Kid Crusher in 0:06:18.
Rating: ** 1/4

In more Cruiserweight action, Billy Kidman picked up the win.  Early on both men hit used dropkicks and high risk moves to their advantage.  Christopher took control with a thumb to the eye and then a flying lariat that sent Kidman to the floor.  Brian then hit a springboard bodyblock and went back inside.  Kidman came back after moving from the Tennessee Jam attempt by Christopher.  Kidman hit his Spinebuster Bomb and then went to the top for the Shooting Star Press.  Christopher countered that by knocking Kidman onto the top rope.  He then went for a superplex, but Kidman shoved him off.  Kidman then hit the Kid Crusher for the win.

Hudson:  Another great match between the Cruiserweight Mike.

Tenay:  Scott, rumor has it that the Cruiserweight title might be returning to WCW, and I for one hope so.  With greats like Kidman, Christopher, Taylor and Dudley in that division it would have great matches.

Hudson:  Not to mention that Disqo, Alex Wright and Owen Hart all could compete for the title.  Even our US Champion Mikey Whipwreck is below the 235 weight limit.

Tenay:  When we come back we have another Cruiserweight match between Scott Taylor and Spike Dudley.

After the break we see footage of Spike Dudley losing to Masato Tanaka on Nitro.  We then see Spike attack Tanaka after the match with a chair.  We go to the ring for the match.

Scott Taylor pinned Spike Dudley after a small package in 0:06:33.
Rating: * 3/4

Scott Taylor and Spike Dudley had a great match, but the mean streak in Spike came out once again.  Spike controlled most of the match and hit the Acid Drop.  The fans however didn't respond the way Spike thought they should and he got onto them about it.  Spike then went to pick Scott up again, and Taylor rolled him up for the win.  Spike went nuts stomping away on Taylor.  He went out and got a chair.  He hits Taylor in the face and then sets the chair up.  He gives Taylor an Acid Drop on the chair before leaving the ring.

Hudson:  Spike Dudley has snapped again here Mike.

Tenay:  I don't know what Spike's problem is lately.  He seems to be upset with the other wrestlers and now even the fans.

Hudson:  I don't get it.  Right now Mean Gene is with Alex Wright and William Regal.

Mean:  William, moments from now you and Alex Wright will have to face the new team of Paul Wight and Owen Hart.

Regal:  Mr. Okerland, it just boggles the mind that two great athletes of our caliber would have to wrestle a big stinky and a nugget like Owen Hart.  We are both finely tuned wrestling machines Mr. Okerland.  Tonight we prove that we can beat any team out there.  Mr. Okerland, good day.

Mean:  What a pompous ass.  Up next the Tag Team Title match.

Owen Hart and Paul Wight defeated
The Foreign Connection (Alex Wright and William Regal) when Wight pinned A. Wright with the Showstopper in 0:11:21.
Rating: * 1/4
(Owen Hart and Paul Wight won the WCW Tag Team Titles.)

Owen Hart won his second title in WCW when he and Paul Wight won the Tag Team titles.  Regal and Wright however didn't back down from the over 500 pound monster in Wight.  Regal and Wright actually went right after the Show and worked on his knee's.  Regal clipped Show as Wright hit a missile dropkick finally took Show off his feet.  However, Owen then came in and took over.  Owen hit a spin kick on Regal and then a dropkick on Wright.  Owen then went after Regal.  Owen hit several European Uppercuts and then a belly to belly suplex.  Owen was setting up the for the Sharpshooter when Alex Wright re-appeared.  Wright hit a jumping sidekick that knocked Owen out of the ring.  Big Show then re-entered the ring.  He went for a double clothesline, but both men ducked.  They then both kicked him in the gut and tried to execute a double suplex.  Show however countered and gave them a double suplex.  Show then hiptossed Regal out of the ring.  Alex Wright went to the top, but got caught.  A Showstopper later and we had new champions.  We go to break with Show and Owen celebrating.

After the break.

Hudson:  We just crowned new Tag Team Champions here on Thunder, but we have something to show you.  This happened as the three count was happening.

We see in the back a door come flying off it's hinges and Scott Steiner and Rhino come storming out.

Tenay:  Scott, I am told they are at Hollywood's office now.

We see Steiner and Rhino kick in Hogan's office door.

Steiner:  What the hell is that crap?  You know we have a title match at Souled Out.

Hogan:  Hold it right there big fella.  First off you best be taking the bass out of your voice when you address me.  Second you do still have that title match, just against someone different.

Steiner:  Is that so?  Well I guess we will have to kick their asses then.  And if you don't keep your nose out of our business your asses will get kicked too.

Hogan:  You have a match to get ready for Scotty, you best get ready?

Steiner:  What the hell?  This is our night off!

Hogan:  Oh, didn't you hear, I booked you two against Vader.

Steiner:  VADER!?!?  What the [BLEEP]!

Hogan:  Steiner, you best watch your mouth and get ready.

Steiner:  Yeah, I am ready alright.

Hudson:  Since Hogan brought in The Big Show he seemed to have forgotten about Steiner and Rhino, and then doesn't even tell him about that match with Vader, sounds fishy to me.

Tenay:  You know what they say, there is no honor among thieves.

Hudson:  Good point Mike.  Up next is a six man tag match between the Ministry, The Mamalukes and Lance Storm.

We see footage of Lance Storm losing the TV title on Monday and then being attack by the Ministry.  Then we see the Mamalukes and Disqo make the save.  We also see footage of The Mamalukes battle with Sting and The Undertaker.  We now go to Mark Madden with Lance Storm and the Mamalukes.

Madden:  Lance Storm, you just lost your TV title and now you are going out to face the Ministry.  Shouldn't you concentrate on getting your title back?

Storm:  Listen Mark, tonight I get pay back for what they did to me and Booker after a tough match.  But Booker T, that title is mine.  Sooner or later I will get that title back!

Madden:  Hey Vito, where is that big nosed jackass Disqo?

Vito:  Listen fat man, you best be stepping off Disqo or we might have to give you what he calls and old school tushie kicking.  Now Undertaker, you and that group of misfits are starting to piss me off.  You guys like to jump on everyone here and think you are unstoppable.  Well we are going to stop you.

Johnny:  Hey Vito, we going to break a few thumbs tonight?

Vito:  You bet John.  Now lets get to the ring.  Get out of the way fat man.

Madden:  Up next, the Ministry and those three men in a tag team war.

The Ministry (Mortis, Sting and The Undertaker) defeated
The Mamalukes and Lance Storm when Sting pinned L. Storm with the
Scorpion Death Drop in 0:08:32.
Rating: ** 1/2

This match was just that, a war.  It was fought all over the building.  Early on it was just Mortis and Sting fighting the other three while the Undertaker just looked on.  Finally Taker come down and evened the odds up.  And even them up he did.  Taker was a force in the ring.  He came in as the Mamalukes were about to hit a Spiked Piledriver on Mortis.  Taker gave Johnny a chokeslam and then gave Vito the Last Rites.  Meanwhile Storm was going for a running powerslam, but Sting floated over and gave him the Scorpion Death Drop for the win.  The Ministry continued the attack, and wasn't letting up until finally Booker T, Bryan Clark and Disqo made the save.

Hudson:  Once again the Ministry leaving destruction in the ring Mike.

Tenay:  Someone needs to step up and end this cancer before it spreads anymore.

Hudson: Wait a second Mike, a limo just pulled up outside.

We see a limo in the back.  The door opens and out steps Bret Hart.

Tenay:  What is he doing here Scott?

Hudson:  I don't know, but lets see if we can get Pam or Mean Gene to get a word from him when we get back.

We go to break with Hart entering the building.

After the break we see footage of Jeff Jarrett defeating Bryan Clark on Nitro.  We see both Brian Adams and Disqo get involved in the match.  We then go to the announce table.

Hudson:  We have just seen the events from Nitro leading up to this next tag team match.  After the match Mean Gene will talk to Bret Hart who has just shown up here.  Lets get to the match.

Bryan Clark and Disqo defeated Jeff Jarrett and Brian Adams when Clark pinned Jarrett with the Meltdown in 0:08:01.
Rating: *

Disqo and Clark were very offensive minded in this match with revenge on their minds.  This however worked in the hands of Adams and Jarrett.  Disqo missed a flying elbow and was worked over while the ref, Scott James, kept Clark out.  Adams hit a piledriver, but didn't make the cover.  He baited Clark in and allowed Jarrett to continue the attack.  Jarrett went for the figure four but Disqo countered and finally made the tag.  Bryan Clark was a man possessed beating on both men.  Disqo came back and with a lariat took Adams over the top.  Clark then gave Jarrett the Meltdown and got the win.  Disqo and Clark celebrated, but it was pre-mature.  Jarrett grabbed the guitar and nailed Clark from behind.  Disqo tried to fight Jarrett, but Adams hit him in the back with a chair.  Jarrett and Adams then gave Disqo a spiked piledriver on the chair.  Jarrett and Adams leave.  Clark checks and Disqo and yells for EMT's.

Hudson:  MY GOD!  Someone get down here now, Disqo isn't moving.

Tenay:  We joke around about not wanting Disqo in WCW, but we don't want to see anything like this.

Hudson:  EMT's are checking on Disqo now, so lets hope its just a stinger.  But we have more show to do, lets get to Mean Gene.

Mean:  Lets hope you are right Scott about the stinger.  Bret Hart, you aren't suppose to be here.  Reports were that you weren't allowed to travel.

Hart:  Well I was advised not to travel, but I am not going to let someone like Mike Awesome keep the Hitman down.  Mike Awesome, you cost me a match and you tried to finish me off.  Well tonight the Hitman defeats you and takes the belt that belongs on a Hart.  Gene, I have to get ready.

Mean:  Bret looks ready for the match tonight.  When we come back, General Rection faces Booker T for the TV Title.

Booker T pinned General Rection with the Book End in 0:08:19.
Rating: ** 1/4
(Booker T retained the WCW TV Title.)

General Rection had a chance to win the TV title and nearly came up with the win.  The match was back and forth, but Rection seemed to get the upperhand when Booker missed a missile dropkick.  Rection then hit a powerslam and went to the top for the Raging Climax.  Rection hit the move but somehow Booker kicked out.  Rection went for a second one, but this time Booker moved.  Rection was dazed and that allowed Booker to hit the Book End for the win.  Booker T helped Rection back to his feet, but Rection shoved him away.  Booker again tried to help and got shoved again.  Booker then shoved back and the two started exchanging rights.  This is when Rection's partner Ray Traylor came from the back.  Traylor separated the two, but Rection got hot at Traylor shoving him and leaving the ring.

Hudson:  Looks like another wrestler has snapped here on Thunder Mike.

Tenay:  Things are heating up here in WCW and it is getting to a few of the superstars.

Hudson:  And when you have someone like Hogan at the helm it doesn't help.  But hopefully the CEO Gene Bennett will return from the attack by Paul Wight several months ago and help bring order back to WCW.

Tenay:  Vader has been fighting Gene's battles lately.  It has been a tough road for Vader over the years.  Lets take a look.

We see footage of Vader over the years in Japan, then WCW, then WWF, then back to Japan.  We see his debut at Sin last month.  We then see him confront Hogan tonight and get the next match.  We now go to Pamela who is with Vader.

Pam:  Big Van Vader, moments from now you face the number one contenders to the Tag Team Titles in a handicap match.

Vader:  Pam, I have beat bigger and badder then those two.  Tonight I show Hollywood that I will go through whatever he throws at me.  But sooner or later Hollywood, you are going to look at your watch and its going to say its--its---ITS VADER TIME!!!

Pam:  That man looks ready to destroy Steiner and Rhino.

Handicap-Match:
Big Van Vader defeated Scott Steiner and Rhino when Vader pinned S. Steiner after a splash in 0:10:32.
Rating: *

Vader picked up the win, but not without help from a friend.  The match was just what everyone expected a street fight.  Vader was holding his own but it was a losing battle with these two monsters.

Hudson:  Wait a minute, there is another limo pulling up.  Someone is coming out, and look at that, they are carrying a lead pipe.

Back in the ring Vader was trying to hold his own.  Rhino put a table into the ring and tried to put Vader through it, but Vader reversed the whip and Rhino went through it.  Steiner however hit a belly to back on Vader and signalled for the Steiner Recliner.  Then we see who was carrying the pipe, it is CEO Gene Bennett.  He comes down and hits Steiner in the back of the head.  Steiner goes down, Vader splashes him and gets the win.

Gene:  Hogan, did you see that?  I am not going to mess around with your ass anymore.  Turner Sports is sick of you and to be honest so is most of these fans here.  Hogan, your days are numbers.  17 days to be exact.  17 days until you look at your watch and it says VADER TIME!  Because at Souled Out you will face this man behind me, the man that laid out your two buddies here, you and Vader.  This time you can't get him fired or anything else Hollywood.  This time it goes down!

Hudson:  I don't believe it.  Hollywood Hogan verse Big Van Vader at Souled Out.  At that to Steiner and Rhino facing the Tag Champions and Sting facing the World champion and Souled out is shaping up.

Tenay:  We still have a lot of time to announce more matches Scott.

Hudson:  But we aren't done here yet Mike.  We still have the US title and the World title match.  Up next Mikey Whipwreck faces Masato Tanaka.

Mikey Whipwreck pinned Masato Tanaka with the Whippersnapper in 0:08:35.
Mikey Whipwreck suffered a neck injury. He will be out for approximately 4 cards.
Rating: *** 1/4
(Mikey Whipwreck retained the WCW United States Title.)

The Ministry's Mikey Whipwreck continued on his winning streak by defeating Masato Tanaka with help for his brothers in arms.  Tanaka once again came close to winning a title here in WCW, but feel short when Gangrel and Papa Shango appeared.  Tanaka was about to hit a Tornado DDT when they appeared.  Tanaka released the hold when both jumped onto the apron.  Tanaka knocked Shango down with a right and gave Gangrel the Roaring Elbow.  Mikey tried to attack, but Tanaka countered with boot to the midsection and then gave Mikey the Diamond Dust.  Tanaka went for the cover but was pulled off but Gangrel and Shango.  The official, Charles Robinson, then tried to keep them down.  From the ceiling Sting lowered.  Tanaka didn't know, and took the Scorpion Death Drop from Sting.  Sting was then raised back up while Mikey got the official to turn around.  Mikey then gave Tanaka the Whippersnapper and made the cover.  Gangrel and Shango quickly pulled Mikey out of the ring and helped him to the back.  Mikey was holding his neck the entire way to the back.  We then see Mike Awesome and Bret Hart making their way to the ring.

Mike Awesome pinned Bret Hart with the Awesome Bomb in 0:05:27.
Rating: ** 3/4
(Mike Awesome retained the WCW World Title.)

Mike Awesome tried over power Bret, but Bret used his wrestling skills to take Awesome down.  Bret then went to work on Awesome's knee.  During the match we see Sting in the rafters watching.  Back in the ring Awesome regained control after Hart missed a flying elbow.  Awesome then hit a press slam and a frog splash but Hart kicked out.  Awesome went for a second frog splash, but Hart moved.  Hart then went for Sharpshooter, but we see that Sting has begun to lower from the rafters.  Bret released the hold and caught Sting as he entered the ring.  Bret and Sting exchanged rights with Bret getting the upper hand.  Bret punched Sting until he began to raise back to the rafters. Bret turned around right into a lariat from Awesome that flipped Hart.  Awesome then it an Awesome Bomb for the win.

Hudson:  What a night of wrestling.  New Tag Team Champions crowned here tonight and the return of the CEO.  For Mean Gene, Pamela, Mark Madden and Mike Tenay, I am Scott Hudson.  See you at Nitro.
