Flagg's J was started by Ben and Travis Parker in the year 2001 after Ben's and Trav's last band, Gendo Ikari, disbanded due to locational differences (the former lead singer moved to mesa). After the 6 month rest from Gendo music Ben and Trav used some studio time that they had won from the 'Slow's battle of the bands in 2000 (some songs on the ablum featured the 'Slow's very own Aaron Rubi who is now located on the airforce base in Okinowa, Japan- those songs are: Function, Sober, and the two untitled and unmixed  "secret" songs).  The debut album, "musak from the 'slow", was relased in early 2001 and was an instant hit with the young'ins of the 'slow.  With people pressing for live shows from the reinvented Gendo Ikari, now Flagg's J, Ben and Trav knew thier time to come foreward was then. One problem who would play bass and who would sing? Ben played guitar on the album and dubbed in his singing, and Trav played drums and dubbed in his singing. How would they play live.  All the problems were solved when Trav decieded that his drumming days would have to be put on hold for a while, he would be the front man and lead singer of the band while a friend of his took over the drum parts, this was Omar Galvan. Playing one year less than Trav yet increadibly was just as amazing on the drums. Trav knew that Omar was capable of accomplishing what needed to be done.
Geoff Bengson came in with the remebrance of Omar and a band that Trav and Omar used to have with Geoff (named "Critical: Omar's Buttcheex"). That band didn't work out because of creational differences between the guitar player and the rest of the band (the only song he could play was Ozzy's "Crazy Train").
The magic began @ the 2001 american cancer society's "race for the cure". The band was slated to play at the show at 8:30. Yet, the weather took a nasty turn for rain. Risking electricution Flagg's J went on anyway.  Did they do it all for the nookie?  ...no. actually they really love the music and the fans.
