Notes: Last Will and Testament of Thomas C. Taylor 1st In the name of God I Thomas C. Taylor Being concious of approaching Death and wishing to dispose of my Estate while I have life and ability to do so do hereby name the within my last will and testament revoking all former wills. 2nd I desire that Friends in whose care I may be in with my last days Shall intern my remains by the side of my Dear Wife in a plain and decent way with such apparal as I dayly wear and they such Friends to be paid for their troubleand expense. 3rd I hereby Constitute and appoint my beloved son R.G. Taylor of New Orleans my true and lawful Executor to carry out this my last Will without the interference of any Probate of superior District or any other Court of jurisdiction where I ma reside at the time of my Death the Power rested alone in my said Son R.G. Taylor he the said Executor shall take charge of all my Estate both real and personal & dispose of the same either Privately or Publicly as he my think to the interest of my Estate First pay all my Just Debts second receive for his trouble five dollars per day and all traveling and other expences he may be at in the management of my said Estate. 4th Having so done the said R.G. Taylor Shall divide the residue in four Equal parts to wit one fourth to my daughter Mary V. Scott in her own right & title clear of her Husband William F. Scott in any way one fourth for himself the said R.G. Taylor and one fourth to Martha Ann Taylor in her own right to be thus securred by the said Executor of mine and trustee of hers for the fourth and last share to my Son William H. Taylor at his becoming of age his education having been Provided for otherwise. 5th For the ingratitude of Thomas J. Taylor, George W. Taylor, James M. Taylor and James S. Beckham I desire that they never shall have one dollars worth of my Estate they he said parties having already received three hundred dollars a piece Signed and Sealed in presence of in Linden, Cass County, Texas this 13th January 1860.
