Little Soul
Like the rain, tears fall. They splash on the ground
Each one that drops hears my soul’s little sound
A pale little cry that comes from inside
This little light that gets smaller, each time nearly
dies
I’m sorry small child; I don’t want to make you sad
You’re losing your glow; I didn’t mean to be bad
Tiny, tiny soul, please don’t weep when I hurt
My tears cry for both of us, don’t be an angel in the
dirt.
Don’t look that way soul, you make me despair
Please don’t think that I live without care
The physical pain, it’s only the surface
It embraces me, just like the serpent.
Oh weary soul, don’t close your eyes
Don’t leave me alone to cope with the lies.
Little soul little soul, why are you so still?
I thought you’d recover, from each daily pill
My soul please help me, my tears have dried
Why won’t they come, when it’s raining outside
Little soul you’re so quiet, why don’t you reply?
You’ve left me like the others, all alone to die.
